WTF No. 33. Front Sprocket

A unit came in for another job but we discovered damage to the swingarm. The chain was cutting into the aluminum because the countershaft (front) sprocket was the wrong type, which caused a misalignment of the chain's path. That improper spacing caused the chain to ride off track from the guide and too close to the swingarm and tire. It goes downhill from there. #powersports #motorcycle #ducati...

More common than you think, we see people putting tire shine or tire dressing on their motorcycle tires. Not only is this useless because they don't have a very big sidewall, it's also dangerous because ArmorAll is slick. And it will make you fall. This is quite literally the worst sounding Akrapovic exhaust I've ever heard and makes this amazing Ducati sound like a tractor. Wow....
Honda uses this model in their MSF courses, so this person must be a terrible rider. 68k miles on my Rebel 500.
So I have to ask, was it worth it? does it add power/performance or is it just for a difference in sound?

Comparing to bmw s1000rr cbr 1000rr doesn't have that much power honda bikes are so smooth but they dont have that much power
That would be true about the 'RR' but this the the 'RR-R' Fireblabe. Not the same bike and its power is comparable. This unit went on to make 214hp with a simple ECU tune, FYI.
Is it necessary to reprogram the computer parameters after replacing the exhaust?
The exhaust system comes with new programming. It helps it run better and maximize performance, but the bike can run without it.

What caused this and what were the end results plus parts that need to be swapped
Running it without ever changing or adding oil. Needed a top end. Piston, rings, and one of the cams.
@@RideQuick Was the oil also really low? was there knocking? Installed my oil filter wrong; had a brain fart. Was the bottom end damaged? my mechanic assumes that I may have lucked out with top end damage only. sorry just wanna hear more since I can find much on the cb300r and engine rebuilds.
@MikaelFresco there was knocking (thus the title of the video) and the oil was all but empty. Barely coated the bottom of the drain pan. The bottom end was fine.
@@RideQuick last question sorry but do you know if the drain pan oil connects to the bottom end or does it have to be filtered before reaching all engine components?
@MikaelFresco I believe you are asking about oil flow direction. Oil leaves the oil pan via the pump and is forced through the oil filter, then to the rest of the motor: crank, cylinder walls, cams, etc then returned to the oil pan. Repeat.

Did you check inside of the wheel ? It might be a leak from tpms valve may be washer is broken. But how did you fix it /
The leak was coming from the cracks around the valve stem, visible by the bubbles forming beside the valve stem. Cracks on both sides of the valve. The only fix is replacement. We are not capable of repairing carbon fiber layers.
They improved the carbon rims on the 23/24 . Those years we known to crack. I believe BMW was replacing under warranty.

You can do it, but you have to spray it on your rag and then put it only on the side wall. Spraying it onto the tire is incredibly dangerous.

Is it stupid to teplace my Panigale V2 with this? I love my bike, but it's a bit tall for my 173cm, and most of the time i'm using it for daily commuter, and this engine just feels like an overkill for this. What is your opinion?
The Supersport is more of a daily rider/sport touring bike. The Panigale is a track-focused sport bike. Sure, you can commute on a V2, but the SS950 is A LOT more rider friendly and comfortable. You'll definitely give up some speed (112hp vs 155hp) dropping down to the SS950, but it's no slouch...it's still plenty fast and track capable when you're ready to push it. It's also easier to ride fast than the Panigale. The Supersport does have a slightly lower seat height and it is my personal favorite out of all the brands we sell/service. All of the looks and 'Ducati' appeal of the Panigale and none of the drawbacks.

You have a lot more hardware on the CF wheel, you might as well have left a tire on one too.
True, the hub receiver for the disc and sprocket were still on... and it was still 2.5 pounds lighter. This is the way you can buy it. The CF wheel isn't sold without it so that's why it was left on.
Hi mate! I have the same bike, now with sbk ( revoc ) exhaust, it's simply too loud to me, so i want the akrapovic system. My question is how much "smoother" the bike gets with the re-map at low revs? It's a bit shaky and jerky to me at low revs at stock, i heard remapping helps a lot. What is your opinion?
The "herky-jerk" at low revs/low speed is just the nature of the beast with this motor: characteristic. Mapping didn't help with that. Only smoothing out the mid-range is where you'll see the difference.
