The wood stove u saw going near the mine site is scrappy Larry's scrap yard, he was on some of those gold mine TV shows on discovery channel. The old town site and mine is in reclamation from a Watson lake guy. Lots to see in that area it's awesome

loved the old doc clips! I lugged around 2 canoes for over a year of RV life without taking them down, until I finally found that perfect lake, and went fishing every good day for 3 months! So worth it! Canoe puts food on the table!

Those are black huckleberries. You will notice that unlike blueberries which hang down from the branch, these berries are usually cradled and held up by the leaves at the end of the branch. Plus they're almost black instead of blue. I love em, mix em with blueberries sometimes. They're closely related to the red huckleberries you may have eaten before, and also to blueberries, it's all vaccinium genus, when you see those leaves and the berries with the little crowns on them you have a berry in the vaccinium family.

Is that one of those ferries where they try to tell you that you can't stay in your vehicle? They make me furious, their pet area is 100% abusive, and I would freak out and punch someone out if I couldn't keep an eye my dogs.

If you ever do that ferry run again, the Island that Butedale is on (Princess Royal Island), has the largest population of Kermode Bears (Spirit Bears), in the world. There aren't very many, the white fur is from a rare gene in Black Bears.

I thoroughly enjoyed your great GREAT video of your epic journey! It proves that one does not need 100K of vehicles, Gore-tex and more. Just care and determination plus a dog of course! You also proved that my own fear of a catastrophic breakdown driving from Regina to Brandon, Manitoba was totally groundless, I also have a green 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. After seeing you guys drive across the northern hemisphere, I now feel brave enough to maybe drive all the way to Winnipeg 😅😅!

You can really see where the Haida got the inspiration for their paintings when you take that ferry trip, hope you guys head up the Stewart-Cassiar highway to the Yukon, its an amazing trip.
