I was really surprised that there wasn't any snow on the ground or ice on the water in February! Isn't that unusual for Canada? Absolutely beautiful there 😍 so very pretty ❤
The island is a temperate rainforest so very mild winters. Still gets super cold with the extra humidity in the air but at least we have access to the beautiful lakes year round 😁❤️

What a beautiful lake with all those cliffs! It's hard to get warm once you're cold for sure! Exercise is more or less the only way. Cutting wood. That and hot spicy ramen. When I spent the winter in an off grid RV in the mountains near Powell River, I got my husky a puffy jacket for those cold nights so it wouldn't fall off like a sleeping bag. That humid BC winter is enough to make a husky cold! I tried extra layers for myself but in that humidity I found it really doesn't work if you're sitting still. I wouldn't do it again (winter RV life) without a wood stove.
Definitely going to grab a good supply of spicy ramen for the next trip ! You're right, even though it isn't that cold temperature wise, the damp air really cuts through you ! We've been thinking of potentially installing a wood stove in the van... That'd be awesome. Thanks for watching !

The landscape around that lake is amazing. But sleeping in a tent in February,,, makes you wonder how the old boys did it back in the 60's ,,,, on purpose!?!. Another great vid!!!!
They were a different breed 🤣. Takes balls .. and a lot of booze I'm assuming...pretty inspiring though. We will be back in the homeland in the fall, thinking of doing a portage trip through the Westree area during that time, we'll see ! Cheers dude !

Off Hwy 28 towards Gold River!
That's the perfect spot for summer camping in hot weather. You have the trees shading the tent in the morning so the sun doesn't cook you awake too early, and there is always a cool breeze coming down that creek, and by the evening, during the hottest part of the day, that whole side of the lake is in shade. Thanks for not advertising exactly where this is.
We don't like to give away any spots unless it's already quite popular. Hot or cold, this spot was still one of our favourites ! Cheers
