In episode 2 of the Van Build series, we hit a few roadblocks during the building process, lay out our laminate flooring, and construct a solid bed frame with lots of 'garage space' underneath.

Who knew you were a carpenter, looking good. Sometimes it's good to use it while your building, let's you get a feel for what you need and what works. Just don't get to comfortable and never finish it. HAHa, sorry the old uncle just came out in me, lol. Keep up the great work guys!!!!
Coming along nicely folks. Looking forward for the next camping trip and the journey along the van build. Diesel will be like omg, we got 2 floors now 😂…..cheers!!!
It was motivating to get these last few tasks done! Feels like its really starting to come together especially once the panelling and cabinets get put in! We're very excited to put some kilometres on it soon 😊 cheers guys!

Kreg was my best friend too during my build - the cabinet handle, hinge, and drawer slide jigs were pretty handy too. I was luckily able to source Havelock wool out of Alberta which was super handy for stuffing every little nook and cranny, even the ones the size of a pencil head. I see this video was a year ago so I wonder what you have added, changed etc. since trying it out for your own style of travel? From your latest video it looks like you are headed out on the road soon, so maybe an update video would be helpful for others? Safe travels
Hey Elsa! Yes lots have been done on the van since these build videos. We showed an update in our New Years Video titled 'winter road trip' but even since then it's had more changes! We definitely intend on doing a full tour once it's all done. The bed frame has been super solid so we're glad we documented this part of the build.
Lots of adventures happening soon as we head towards Alaska in July! We appreciate you taking the time to watch some of our videos ❤️

Hey Daniel! It was a grey laminate flooring from Home Depot. Can't remember the brand unfortunately.. it's actually a pretty simple task once you get the hang of it ! I have confidence even with minimal experience that you'll be able to do it yourself !
Have you made any adjustments to the bed? It looked like you just had the foam mattress topper on slats... Is it comfortable?! Good craftsmanship tho
Only added a few more slats after this video was complete and it's been great. Very sturdy, even with all the logging roads we've put it through. We sleep better in the van than we do in the bed at home lol

Hey Peter! Very cheap purchase at Home Depot. Pretty sure they were only $3 each! After several months of sleeping in there, it's very sturdy
