Only thing I suggest if you do want to try the Lost Levels for some reason is to play the SNES All Stars version

I definitely think the early half of Mario world is boring, but Butter Bridge and beyond is really damn fun. That’s why I think Mario 3 is better

I played The Lost Levels VIA All-Stars and I knew it was gonna be hard as a kid. And I seen the Famicon version when I learned about the Doki-Doki Panic story in early 2015. And I now only play the All-Stars version because I wanna play as Luigi and I don't wanna play as a Green Mario.

I was a kid Born in the 2000s and this was my very first game I played as a kid and I think playing Nintendo games exclusively actually made me more of a black sheep when I went into school because the kids were getting into overly violent gun games (I dont know what the kids were into in 2009). But I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is a far better Mario game than Super Mario World (which I also played VIA Super Mario All-Stars).

When people ask what my favoeite SNES Game is, its Super Mario All Stars PLUS World. Luigi also looks updated in the world in this version to match his aooearance in 2 onward.

It's ridiculous to me that the makers of the first Mario game decided that the game's difficulty needed to be cranked up to "Bullshit". I'm glad we ended up with the Mario Brothers 2 that we got otherwise Mario Brothers 3 would have probably been ignored.

The reskinned Japanese game was called Yume Kogo (Dream Factory). Doki doki panic was a subtitle that roughly translates to "heart pounding panic", used to indicate that the game was exciting for the consumer. That subtitle was used in many Japanese games at the time. Yume Kogo also started out as a sequel to the original Super Mario bros. game

Thank you, god! I’m so freaking glad that I didn’t play this game of the Super Monkey Ball series because in my opinion it’s the WORST game of the entire series overall and for many reasons! I’m only going to do a Let’s Play with Super Monkey Ball Adventure for only the Party Mode and Challenge Mode but not the Story Mode after put in the cheat code and unlock everything from the get go!

I’m definitely going to be doing a Let’s Play on this interesting game of the Super Monkey Ball series on the mGBA Emulator! And I’ve got a strong feeling it’s going to be one of my favorite games of the series despite being less powerful than its console counterpart but still a super fun, pretty good and solid game overall in my book due to its flaws and problems in the end!

This game was so awesome in the 80's coming from Atari games to Nintendo it was amazing. I was like10 when i played Mario for the first time and I was blown away. My family was not close at all and when we got the Nintendo and played mario we were all engaged and just playing together as a family. Some of my favorite childhood memories was playing the first Mario.

My first mario game ever was Mario Land for my Game Boy. Honestly, Super Mario Bros 3 is my favorite Mario game ever and I think it's basically peak Mario, but both Land and Land 2 are among my favorite games and I think do a lot of things right. Both of them have worlds that have a lot of personality, both introduce unique enemies and mechanics to each world and nothing overstays its welcome. Ofc the limitations of the Game Boy degrades the experience a bit, but I think both are still a lot of fun and Land 2 in particular could be among the best Mario games ever if it was done on the Mario World engine and had a couple extra levels - so much so that I plan to program that myself.

Kids today cry Dark souls is too hard. I'm sitting here laughing in Lost Levels

In Mario 1 there is a way to go back to the world you died in by holding A and pressing start

Greatest thing about Super Mario Brothers NES was.......THE CHALLENGE! We kids wanted the challenge, and we got it. I am uncertain now why it is upsetting, or not fun. The ease of modern games, even in my fav series like Mario, Final Fantasy, and Zelda......they are far easier to go through than in the day. It would be nice to have the difficulty back, without having to have to select it in hard mode. (Mostly unlocked AFTER a completed game) That being said, the reviews you give for the Mario games are really amazing. The analysis is definitely as close to spot on as possibly can. Love listening to the videos.

Wow. An unbiased, fair review of the original Super Mario Bros 2. Never thought I'd see the day. What a pleasant surprise. I actually really like the sequel. First played it on All Stars in the mid-90s. It was my 2nd favourite on All Stars. But I've since played it on the NES as a reproduction from the Famicom Disc. Its great. Combines my nostalgia for the original Super Mario Bros and my love for challenge.

Oh thank goodness. When I played the arcade version, I was so confused about what on Earth I was experiencing. I had the SNES version as a kid and had become quite good at it, so my sudden knee-capping and ineptitude was confusing. Glad to understand what was really going on. Kneecapping warp pipes and mixing in The Lost Levels...sheesh.

A few years back when I first played Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels for my Game & Watch, the one that was released in 2020, I remember making it to the world 6 and dying. Not sure if I had any good time with this game nor if I ever plan to play this game again, but due to the similarity of the graphics, whenever I play the first Super Mario Bros. game, I pretty much pretend playing the Lost Levels.

Still the best Mario game to this day, and in my top 3 videos games of all time alongside OG RE4 and Super Metroid. A masterclass in game design.

This wasn’t not released because of it’s difficultly. It was solely because of how similar it was to the first. Plenty of more difficult games were released here and some were made more difficult than the Japanese original.

I find it funny hearing somebody talk about canon in a decades old Mario game. As a kid this ment nothing to me and I'm sure you didn't give it any thought either. Lore and canon in Video games are phenomena of the modern internet. Folks whining about lore or canon in gaming tend to pop up more and more these days. In the end it's just adult words for "playing make believe".
