    Hello, thanks for video. I know this is an old video but hopefully you’re still checking it. I’m trying to figure out how to make no melt suet cakes for the first time and I have been reading that a lot of homemade suet cake recipes on the net are bad for the birds so it can be confusing I like this one better simple and easy. This is the first one that actually is using beef fat everyone else is using lard. Can you use this recipe for a no melt suet. I will be adding more than just peanuts,I’m thinking crunchy pb, sunflower chips, maybe some mealworms and raisins or cranberry’s. Have you tried any other recipes? Thanks

    i have heard that Kelp has a lot of heavy metals and arsenic? My thought is maybe, but why would a plant in living organic soil take up anything it does not need?

    • @IndoorHydroponix
      @IndoorHydroponix Před 9 měsíci

      Kelp is full of trace minerals. That’s why I use it. Feed the soil minerals and that brings on the flavor in the fruit. When we taste something, we taste complex minerals and sugars. So I use a ton of minerals in my soils and I can certainly taste the difference. In terms of arsenic, it may have trace amounts. But so does native soils. I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about. Atleast I hope not, as I have been using kelp for years. Take care and thanks for watching!

    hey brotha, thanx for info, i have discovered aloe vera is amazing to add to teas and foliar spray. I live in Florida and i have lots in my yard so that works out. Check out Jeremy at Build A Soil he sells a freeze dried aloe product that is very concentrated. He also sells a dried coconut water, so i gave my plants some of my coconut water from my treas. He has a video where he explains those two products benefits. feed the soil feed your soul, peace

    • @IndoorHydroponix
      @IndoorHydroponix Před 9 měsíci

      Interesting. I mean, plants die back and feed the soil. So it makes sense that aloe or coconut water would be of benefit. I have three teas I have been consistently using. And I get 20 to 40lbs of tomatoes per plant, completely organic year over year with no crop rotation. I contribute the majority of that success to teas and fish Hydrolysate. Thanks for checking and watching. And I’ll check out your references!

    I'm just about to start up compost tea and I'm thinking about incorporating pond water from our outdoor goldfish pond. I do not treat the pond with anything (keeping the water clear by simply planting lots of plants to pull excess nutrients out of the water to avoid algae). Is there any reason this is a bad idea? Seems intuitive but I don't want to miss some science and mess up my tea...

    Hi I finally bought a nice big pump like yours. I have 2 buckets brewing. For now I only have small stones. The bubble action is much better than my smaller pump. But I want lots of foam like you have there. Lol Please tell me What's in your buckets making all that Foam 🤔 What do you think of hooking up a 1/4" soaker hose , to the pump Instead of stones. I just found videos on that today lol I'll have to get more ingredients for my next batch. That's a great brew your making.. Thanks for all your hard work making videos for us . Great job. Talk soon

    I know this video is 7 years old, but I have a few questions. I can see the value of having extra bins ready for a full nutrient reset if needed. For a large tank like you have, have you considered using a reserve reservoir with a float valve to maintain the mininimum nutrient leevel height once the plants start drinking more? I recall a video, by Dr. Kratky, and he often uses extra containers with nutrient solution at half strength, to feed into his tanks as the plants mature and take in more water. It seems to reduce the need for removing the entire lid with plants in order to check and refill. This seems to work for plants that would drink their tanks dry before their growing season ends. I'm imagining things like tomatoes and other fruiting plants could benefit. I have enjoyed your detailed strawberry grow series. I've never had luck with strawberries with traditional soil planting, and am considereing trying other methods. I've have lettuces, bok choi, and tomatoes all benefit from passive kratky systems, and would like to branch-out, so to speak, to other plants like chayote and cucumber and some hard to find herbs. Oh, and thank you for that Dill Video. I live in a college town and after football games, styrofoam containers often become abundantly abandoned. Time to save the landfills and my pockets by reusing!

    Here is what is cool about teas. The time it takes for microbes to reproduce is something crazy like 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Bacteria multiply exponentially, so they are doubling every 5-20 minutes. So, basically you can inoculate or add a small amount of microbes to they just start doubling every 20 minutes. So over night.... you can imagine just how full of microves your tea is. When I ordered my grow equipment they sent me these bottles of "super soil" but it is just a bottle of living microbes. It's like they brewed their own tea and bottled it. Anyways, I do a really similar thing where I just put a cap full of these "microbes." in my tea. I don't use worm casting or anything because they product I'm using was made from worm casting and bat guano and all the good stuff. I basically turn a tiny little cap full of this stuff I got into 5 gallons of the shit basically overnight. 2:38 this tiny amount is all you ever need to add and time will do the rest.
