Here is what is cool about teas. The time it takes for microbes to reproduce is something crazy like 5 minutes to 20 minutes. Bacteria multiply exponentially, so they are doubling every 5-20 minutes. So, basically you can inoculate or add a small amount of microbes to they just start doubling every 20 minutes. So over night.... you can imagine just how full of microves your tea is. When I ordered my grow equipment they sent me these bottles of "super soil" but it is just a bottle of living microbes. It's like they brewed their own tea and bottled it. Anyways, I do a really similar thing where I just put a cap full of these "microbes." in my tea. I don't use worm casting or anything because they product I'm using was made from worm casting and bat guano and all the good stuff. I basically turn a tiny little cap full of this stuff I got into 5 gallons of the shit basically overnight. 2:38 this tiny amount is all you ever need to add and time will do the rest.

Quite the concoction. Plants are looking super happy. "Tea" is on my list of things to try. We call it "shat"... as in, "the geese are shatting all over our lawn". :-D I wonder if goose shat would make a good tea? Probably not, eh? If it were, I could bottle it and make millions! Thanks for the recipe.

You should use molasses, and I know how messy it is, but composted cow manure. The moo poo tea with aerated worm castings is magic

I'm just about to start up compost tea and I'm thinking about incorporating pond water from our outdoor goldfish pond. I do not treat the pond with anything (keeping the water clear by simply planting lots of plants to pull excess nutrients out of the water to avoid algae). Is there any reason this is a bad idea? Seems intuitive but I don't want to miss some science and mess up my tea...

@Ricky Bobby you really think you are going to be safe yourselves in the end? Hiding isn't going to stop the machine.

@Ricky Bobby I'm talking about in general. If the government wanted to. All they have to do is send a drone you're way. Unless you had billions of dollars to build a sophisticated military bunker. You are not as safe as you think you are.

All that foam! That two does look amazing and makes me want to try your recipe I've been wondering when you make it tea is there anyway to store it without killing the microbes? I'm under the assumption it's a brew and use and no storage available without killing the microbiology...

I grow tomatoes well, really well, year over year with just good compost and teas. I don’t rotate crops, same spot every year and always get huge Harvest’s per plant. Same with peppers. But in terms of fruit quality this was the best year. I greatly increased fish products and it definitely paid off. I’d suggest it to anyone. But I would also caution storing it. As it will be go bad fast. Use it within 24 hours of brew across your plants. I used it every other weekend. And that’s all I fed the majority of my plants with. And again, good compost to start every season. Whether it’s cow or organic. It’s a must.
