how is adding store bought fertilizer impressive? he can provide all that himself on the property with a no-till permaculture apporach. what he is doing is the bare minimum of organic. he is being a consumerist and if he wants to earn the impressive marks you gave him then he would be making his own better worm castings via diverse garden and kitchen waste and also compost and cull in ciover crop you can make teas from "weeds" and weed roots on your property etc, so again, what did you find impressive?
btw, i have used down to earth single ingredient products like he is and the stuff is good, but there is nothing impressive going on here this is a jumping off point and tbh i have only ever bought fertilizer like this for my indoor garden and even that is no till these days and i don't buy squatolla. i traditional compost, vermacompost and blatticompost with ivory head roaches and i put excellent free inputas into those source to feed and turn to compost. i could go more but that alone is enough to accomplish what's happening here
