Finding safe people is not easy. For me, the first step was becoming a safe person to myself. When I stopped abandoning myself and being hypercritical and judgmental of myself, I was no longer attracted to, or attracting, those who were abandoners and hypercritical and judgmental of me. Twelve Step programs are a godsend to me.

Well the reason people let unsafe in is often desperation or incredible loneliness or maybe needing an advocate

Religious people say " nope can't help do er on yer own"

Religious people say " you can only call me on Tuesday between 5vand u because I have friends to be with."

Religious people snap " I can't come to help you on your whim" and " I can't help you for two weeks because I have a a life"

I'm running out of safe people. I'm experiencing people withdrawing from me when I try to share my vulnerable feelings. I don't know where to go to find safe people any more. They are not in church. In fact, it feels like God has left the church as well.

I just realized one of my triggers to have my buttons pushed is when I am misunderstood and treated unfairly. I can’t even begin to imagine how Jesus felt. How marvelous and unjust at the same time that He knows exactly how I feel. God came in human form and experienced all so I wouldn’t feel nor be alone. Just wow😢

unsafe people: 1) are concerned with the perception of "having it all together" 2) are religious instead of spiritual 3) apologize in lieu of repenting 4) demand trust v earning it

Wish someone had taught me this earlier in my life. My family and husband are toxic and the sources of my misery.

Mental and emotional health is a huge issue in a relationship. People are either focused on the superficial or totality. Exactly What you will experience over time with someone is internal.

How to tell the differences between the sins of unsafe people and the sins of safe people ?

Yep I was useful and I am no contact. My brother has two completely different lives, and dependent on others.

God's got great people for you and a great life? I heard you say this at the end but really not sure how to find this? I have been looking and trying to find these answers. I feel very disillusioned. I know I am not truly known by most people. I am not good with shallow and so therefore I seem to have nobody that is close. both geographically and emotionally.

Self-monitoring people….that’s good. But it is difficult to be a self-monitoring person among people who are not.

He asks why you would put up or be around someone who acts superior and is controlling, but what about people who are married to someone like that? They don’t have a choice.

His advice is for upper middle class women. Few others can afford his therapy or others. No freebies here. Just money changers masquerading as christians

Wow! This is very eye-opening. I have been shutdown and judged so much in Bible study groups in church by people that appeared to have it all together. It was like my sharing made them uncomfortable and didn't want to hear it. I couldn't find help in my time of need even though by the grace of God I was helping so many. It's sad I can't find the support I need within the four walls of the church 😪

It does not provoke people that is hate It admits wrong doing and works when possible to correct it You remember the story of Zacches Luke 19 he realized his sin and paid back what he stole He held the people hostage by not returning what he stole Just like what they did here You cannot rob God and have good character

You find button pushers in office. Promotion to management position means they now got opportunity to spread their weight to juniors and push their buttons. This only leads to chaos and mismanagement. Rules don't apply to them. They will have high expectations of you but you are expected to understand them if they slack.
