This tune is very similar to Stormy Monday - same chord progression but transposed - still a good tune - most artist did the same even today by changing progression and beat.
It's not clear from your comment if you knew T Bone wrote Stormy Monday too? But yes, you're right about how some artists have found a pocket that fits their style. They often build their songs from the same foundation, and it makes a lot of their music sound the same.
I've been playing guitar since I was five years old. I grew up with with the greatest guitar gods this country has ever seen. Even as a young boy I knew that there was something very special about Leon Russell. As I grew older ,my respect and love for him only grew stronger. Bless you Leon for the impact that you made in my life, for all the beautiful music, and for the never-ending commitment to your craft.
I love this song, it shows the raw sexuality behavior of that genetic blend between a mexican woman and a black man, doesn't say much about a typical Red Bone, LMFAO.

This is great and much deserved, but I’m stunned that his song, “This Masquerade” wasn’t mentioned. I first heard the version by George Benson as I was driving along California 1 and it shot so many lightning bolts up and down my spine that I had to pull off the highway for fear of tumbling into the Pacific.
Best song they ever did, and it was never released as a single. Atmospheric, haunting, and melodic.
Going to totally have to listen to this song over and over when in the Bahamas it will definitely fit in and hopefully meet some new people friends along with it.
