I just started collecting Doc Martens and absolutely love them. I have been having such a hard time finding the 1460’s in Oxblood.

I just got my first pair ever last week. I got a size 9 , I wore 9.5 Converse and heard these ran big so I went down to 9. Toes are in the same place. I didn't think I was going to be able to get them on because they were so tight and after I did get them on I had to take them off in less than an hour because of the pain that mostly comes from the top near the end of the tongue on the inside. I've been using boot stretchers, leather softener and lightly used a hair dryer for the past two days and it's gotten better except for the one spot on the tongue. I keep hearing people say right out the box they put them on and was happy. Well I must have gotten the wrong box! I love the way they look and while not as comfortable at the bottom like my Converse leather boots they are comfortable and I really want to like them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 1460 Pascal Atlas Oxblood. Thank you

Dr. Martens did this exact same thing on the Audrick boot, yet it doesn't look like an exclusively women's boot, it looks unisex. They labeled it with womens only sizing with the letter "L" on the inside of the tongue and no "M". I don't get it, why are some DM boots specifically marketed towards women when they look unisex?

I found a pair of very old Doc Martens, short-top, whose union jack is sewn on in individual leather strips. I've never been able to find another pair that looks like them. Are there collectors who might be interested in such a thing?

In my view, this is by far the best, most knowledgeable and helpful channel on CZcams relating to Dr Martens. It's definitely my "go to", whenever I have an issue I come here and always can find out what I need to know via the videos. I think I'd been wearing boots too large for years, I'd typically been wearing 10UK but I recently got a 9UK 1460 Made in Asia and it seemed a little snug on the instep but now after a few weeks it's pretty much perfect, snug but nice and comfortable, no slipping. I now want to get myself a pair of Made in England 1460s and I was wondering about the sizing comparison. I usually wear 9 in Asian made 1460 so I'm wondering should I stick with 9 in the MIE 1460 or go up to 9.5. 🤔 I notice you say they're a little shorter and narrower.. due to the vintage or heritage style made on slightly smaller shaped last. Hmm, so if 9UK is ideal for me in Made in Asia 1460 I maybe be best going for the 9.5UK in the Made in England one? Maybe you could give me your opinion! Thanks so much for everything and all the great videos. You have given me a lot of help!

There are many cons within the Doc Marten marketing such as "Made In England" with the only real difference being the price the box a brochure and a carry bag and I find it also strange that 9 times out of 10 one can purchase Docs cheaper at other shoe shops and not a Doc store.

I wear women’s size 8.5 - 9, recently ordered used pairs of doc martens, a 1460 in UK 7 and oxfords in UK 6. Everyone says you should size down if you’re half size so I was worried the 7 was gonna be too big but surprisingly, it seemed perfect, the toe box wasn’t too big and the boot felt snug without feeling too tight, especially around the bag of the heel. Unfortunately the oxfords are a little too snug for me, the heel is pressing against the back off the shoe and the area of where the ball of my feet is, is a bit too snug, I know it’s gonna give me blisters if I try wearing them. Is this a lost cause or can it be broken into more? The shoes are already used.

I've been searching for days for a hiking boot that isn't ridiculously expensive and still fits my style, then I found the Comb Poly Tech boot but couldn't find any reviews that supported whether or not it was good for hiking. Your definition of hiking perfectly fits what I do/intend to use these for and now I'm so jazzed to get this boot! Thank you again for the thoroughness!! :)

Thanks so much for this video! It was a great help! I was trying to figure out all morning.. what is the difference between unisex and womens.. and is there a third men's variant also?! So many things! Before I even figure out the size I need! It was giving me a headache! So, from what I gather in your video.. there are only the unisex ones and some which they marketed to women. I couldn't figure out where on the boots it said this, but your video answered that for me, how it's the smaller pull tab and the sizing chart on the tongue, the "US M" size part should be blank as you explained. Thank you very much for this. Now I just have to figure out which size I shall need! I measured my foot and it is literally 11 inches on the dot. So, I'm thinking maybe size 9 (Unisex, UK sizing). I have a pair of size 10 UK boots, vintage CAT Sequoias, which is I suppose is not all that unsimilar in style to a Dr Marten 1460, sort of like a CAT take on Dr Martens, and I actually think they're too big. I've probably been buying boots too large for years and didn't know it. They're very slippy around the heel. If I push my foot right up to the front I probably have like a few cm extra at the heel.. maybe an inch! So, I'm thinking I'll take a chance at a size 9 UK in the DMs. I think Dr Martens do a 9.5 UK and it's one of the only half sizes they do but the store I'm thinking of ordering from just seems to stock the full sizes. It's interesting that you said that about the Asian ones (re the thinner leather being more comfortable), I always found the opposite: the thicker leather seems to mold to my foot better, whereas the MIA docs I've had over the years have formed creases that end up giving me problems.

If it helps my family has worked in the vintage clothing business since 1923. As far as what constitutes as “vintage” it means an article of clothing has to be 20 years old or older. Whether the article has been worn or not is irrelevant. When it hasn’t been worn it is called “vintage deadstock”. As you can imagine vintage clothing has become harder to find considering that 20 years ago is when most clothing production was outsourced in other countries and since the quality of materials and how these items were made with wear they deteriorated and never made it to modern times 😳. This all said my MIE 101s from 1990 are still going strong. This style you are reviewing is the very first style that DM has recently come out with that I am drooling over! I want to invest in a pair the next couple weeks (boot version). Fingers crossed the construction and durability is in par with my 30 year old pair. I would love an update on how these are holding up for you! ❤

Are the welts glued on or only sewed?

I wear a 7 in Asian Docs, you think I should stay there for move up to 8s for MIE ones? The 7s fit my foot rather tightly.
