It's unusual to watch a video and think I know where that is when you were sat down on the bench I could see Rangitoto in the background and thought I bet that's Browns Bay. I was right like you the first time I ever flew was to go to NZ when I was 17 to join the rest of my family who had emigrated out there a year earlier I now live in England but used to fly back for holidays to visit my friend who lived in Browns bay my wife is not able to travel now as she is on dialysis. Still, I'm hoping to one day return it's a lovely place and yes it's a LONG way at least you are part way there it's even further having to go from England.
