The hardest part learning Kreyol is training my ears to listen to native speakers because they speak so fast and use like m instead of mwen and w instead of ou which I get the concept but when first learning ugh it’s super hard lol. Is Jamaican Patois the Same as English?

    • @AviationGeekeditz
      @AviationGeekeditz Před 3 dny

      I am half Jamaican 🇯🇲 and the answer to your question is no. Jamaican patios is an English creole which means it is based off English but is not the same. As patios was created during slavery times and they used a simplified version of the language the slave leaders would use but they mixed in words from African languages such as “bafan” or “anansi” so in cases it can be understood by English speakers but in other cases it can not. Also the sentence structure is different from English 😊

    How different do they sound though, anpil ou un peu? As you state in the video ‘the vast majority of Haitian Creole vocabulary comes from French.’ There’s an admixture of syntax and vocabulary from African and Taino languages too, but the origins are mostly French. Mwen renmen the promotion of creole or patois but we need to commence from the correct comprehension of its basis.

    i have questions 1st one is i thought (ki sa ) meant (what) in creole so why did you guys in the video use ki le to ask the time I might answer my own wuestion with this question but does ki (stand for what) and (le stand for the) ?

    • @howtocreole
      @howtocreole Před 5 měsíci

      Great question! The truth is that the word "ki" actually means "what" and the word "ki sa" literally means "what's this." Thus, the words "ki moun" literally means "what people" and the word "poukisa" literally means "for what" or "what for?" and so on. Of course, in English a specific question word is used for each instance. In Creole, the word "ki" used with along with a modifier to show which question you are trying to ask.

    Yeshua Bondye ap vini trè byento. Nibiru ak planèt yo ap soti dèyè Solèy la. Pran yon foto solèy la ak kamera telefòn ou. Nibiru se tankou solèy la, ak yon planèt wouj, yon planèt blan, yon super-gwo planèt wouj, ak yon super-gwo planèt ki gen fòm DISK yo di yo ap vini soti nan dèyè solèy la. Koulye a, moun pral wè isit la epi gen yon gwo planèt blan k ap flote tankou yon nwaj, de solèy, yon planèt wouj trè gwo lè solèy leve ak solèy kouche, ak yon metal ki sanble ak yon DISK. Ou pral wè yon planèt ki gen koulè rick (gri, ajan) k ap flote nan syèl la blan, ou pral wè yon syèl koulè wouj violèt, epi ou pral wè 24K pi bon kalite lò ki gen koulè pal limyè tonbe nan syèl la. Planèt blan yo gwo anpil epi yo parèt tankou koulè lakansyèl briyan, epi yo pi byen wè nan syèl la lès lè solèy la leve. Bondye te montre m vizyon ke si w pran yon foto nan syèl la, w ap wè planèt yo, ak planèt yo ap vin pi pre ak pi pre, epi yo ap vin pi klè chak jou.

His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to [those who have] no might He increases strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew [their] strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Stay strong sis. Much love.
