you sell it?
Do you sell it?
If you were going to build this now, where would you get the propeller and mounting hub?
I get no sound from my Miata after my new double din any help?
It could be any of a number of things. Start with checking your wiring.
Would a higher hp motor equate to more speed?
how to connect two cables for the antenna if the switch has three inputs, I did it and it doesn't work, how do I connect the third input
Hi what is the yellow block for smoothing the paint can you use this for any painted parts were can you buy and what do I type thanks
It's just a foam sanding block. Search for "sanding block" on Amazon or any home improvement stores.
Thank you! I'm about to replace my factory radio & tape deck with a "modern" double-din. I especially appreciate the how-to with the antenna switch! Thanks again.
be very careful when using the screw driver on the apu, as u may scratch of a trace.
This video is so old I’m not sure you will even see this but will this work for drilldozer on gba as well?
It should work for any rumble motor GBA game.
It def will, I fixed multiple ones so far.
Thanks for the video I'm thinking of putting a new head unit in my 10AE also.

Waste of $$$$ purchase a real one!
I built it as a school project to understand aeronautic design. It flew well on land and water. It was hardly a waste of money, and I eventually sold it.
@@fortnerindustries 👍🙋🤝
Would love to see more of that project.
I have another video on my channel of a news clip showing it flying around a football field.
So I installed a Sony head unit very similar to yours but it’s the 1000 model not the 100. And It worked fine. No bypass or anything. But now the Bose speakers have failed and I suspect it might be because of the head unit and the amp working together, so I was confused why so many people were talking about bypassing the amp when mine worked just fine with everything plugged in… So since the factory Bose speakers are now shot then now I actually have to install speakers and I think the Bose amp sends a 5ohm signal to the speakers and most aftermarket speakers are 4 or 6 ohm not 5 so it makes sense now that you would want to bypass it… However my question is. Can you actually just skip the amp and play the speakers off of the head unit? Does the head unit have an amp built in?
If you do the Bose amplifier bypass, then yes, your speakers will be powered from the aftermarket head unit, which does have a small amplifier for component speakers.
Parking brake wire does what?
My memory is fuzzy now, but you typically need the parking brake engaged to allow video playback (so you can't play movies while the car is moving, per US laws).
@@fortnerindustrieshow do you bypass that? Or more to the point does the circuit need to be open or closed?
good video good job and thanks for refreshing my memory on this. but just FYI you have the jumpers pined out of phase
So you got it built, got it up on the air cushion, even verified that it would move. Why not climb in and run it?
I did in other videos. You need a lot more room than just a driveway to fly it. It's like trying to drive a hockey puck. The only way to slow down is spin 180 degrees, so you need lots of room. Soccer fields and lakes worked well.
@@fortnerindustries Coolness, I'd have just jumped in and tried it. Probably with bad results. Down the driveway into the street through the neighbors front door. I bought their catalog a long time ago, it's neat to see one in action.
@@MajorKong1 I was using all my strength there to hold it back. It flew really on fields and water with me inside, but the learning curve is pretty steep.
Nice to see somebody using an antistatic mat and strap during a tear-down. I cringe at all the others that use no protection for the sensitive components.
Great video! I have an NB1 and installed the exact same AX1000 Sony head unit. I am using the factory Bose speakers so I connected the blue HU(headunit) wire to both the power antenna (blue) and amp (blue/white) on the metra wire. I have the shorty antenna but to get the signal boost it needed that power. Also for the ground, I ended up using a end plug with an o ring and grounded it to the metal frame on the inside. Is that okay? I didn’t even think to find a spade connecter to use that factory ground wire.
my one x keeps freezing on loading screens with audio buzz in mxgp and supercross games and kicks me back to the home screen, the xbox is super loud when this happens, but why only in loading screens? gameplay always fine
Did you have any problems with the way you wired up dimmer and illumination?
Thank you so much for this video. Your method of jumping the BOSE amp connector is far more convenient and posterity secure than simply splicing the wires. I did this on my 2000 Miata LS. Now time to run an amp! Thank you so much :)
Thankyou your video gave me the confidence this morning to do the same to my xbox 1 x scorpio edition.took me 4 hours. But it runs so smooth and quiet.thanks;)
Nice
I always put a tiny dab of thermal paste onto the pads aswell works wonders
Thank you! Your video is very helpful. I will try out what you did this weekend.
Great stuff! I dont have a loud fan, but I have hard crashes with NO overheating messages. I also dont believe the exhaust temperature is unreasonably high. I'll give this a go and see what I get. I cant find substantial evidence pointing to power supply issues with the internal supply models.
Same problem here. Hard crashes whithout a loud fan.
Re the oxidization, I have seen this on almost all xbox one motherboards.
The heat sink was supposed to be liquid filled. Not sure if they ever were though.
I think your's is the first video I've seen where Anti-static gear has been used. Well Done. One tip is to use a plastic scraper NOT a metal screwdriver to remove the old thermal paste, also an old toothbrush works with IPA. HTH
Excellent advice. Using a metal screwdriver which was probably also magnetic, is a big no-no.
What do you use to clean the cpu?
I used rubbing alcohol on the end of a q-tip.
Any issue with wind noise while top-down, Isaac?
Well, sort of. I think my mic was damaged when I was snaking it through the A-pillar, and it only seems to work intermittently, regardless of whether the top is up or down. I don't really use the mic much anyway, so I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet.
Not sure if it helps anyone doing this in the future, but......If your worried about how much thermal paste to put on: Put a pea/bb size drop on the chip Keep the board elevated, place the heat sink on the board so it rest on the chip using just the weight of the heat sink Take the heat sink back off Use a q-tip to remove excess paste around the sides of the chip Put the heat sink back on and secure with the clamp Another tip. You’ll notice the thermal pads might have indents on the corners instead of evenly spaced because they aren’t centered over the components. Take the pads off the heat sink and place them centered on the components before you place the heat sink back on and secure with the clamp
Any chance I can just use bubble gum to connect the contacts? Hopefully there's some truth to these cartoons.
I changed the thermal paste on mine as well but it was still overheating. It's out of warrant so sending it to Microsoft is out of the equation, the country i am in doesn't have a service center anyways. What I did instead was disconnect the pulse modulation pin from the fan connector and that seems to have done the trick. It's super loud yeah but I have not had any issues since. The air is now cool even after 2 hours of gaming with a 4k hdr game.
cool air is a bad sign, change the thermal pads use 2mm pads and arctic mx4 paste for the apu/cpu.
@@PadreconUzi I changed the thermal paste. I soldered new capacitors. The one x is still going strong. The air is not super cool bit not very warm either. I don't think it's a problem. If it were, it would've broken long ago.
Does any know how thick those blue thermal pads are? 2mm 2.5? IDK
Not sure. Those were still soft and pliable on my Xbox, so I left them alone.
2mm

hey guys my xbox one x overheated on fortnite last year and i took it out for repair and it got fixed and then this summer 1 year later it got overheated again on warzone power drained it then played warzone for the next 2 months now its overheating inthe pregame lobby should i send it to a local technician or a official ?
If it's under warranty still, you should contact Microsoft support, and they'll take care of you. If not, it sounds like this thermal paste fix would probably help you. You can either do it yourself or any kind of small computer repair shop (not Geeksquad or other corporate chain places) should be able to handle it easily.
@@fortnerindustries any special thermal compund or any compounds work
@@17Mik0sh Any good quality PC thermal paste should work fine.
@@fortnerindustries and this wont ruin my xbox right ?
@@17Mik0sh If done properly, no, but I'm not responsible for any damage incurred if you do this yourself. Changing the thermal compound is a normal thing to do on computers, though, and you don't have to cut or break anything in order to do this.
Great walkthrough! Question, I am going to replace my thermal pads soon but should i also get a new wireless card? My controller/headset will start struggling to stay connected when the console fan has been on for awhile.
Arctic Sliver 5 thermal paste works way better than Arctic MX-4. My consoles run about 4° cooler with Silver 5 then they did with MX-4
i have same success with arctic sliver 5 ,i used mx4 before and it was ok but arctic silver 5 gave better result
1 year later and the Xbox is still going strong. Haven't had a single shutdown issue since. Here's a great teardown video that goes into a lot more detail on how to remove the heat sink: czcams.com/video/Y__r8UjVvzY/video.html
great video, good to see that the shitty TIM is the main culprit. now that I have a series X and I've already upgraded the HDD in my one x to a 2TB SSHD I might actually take the time to sit down and do a proper teardown and TIM replacement before I set it up again in another room. P.S. it's great to see i'm not the only one who just uses alcohol wipes, they're just so convenient, and they're cheap and readily available at the local pharmacy
On some games the fan becomes a hairdryer and doesn’t blow steady kind of up and down. After this fix, do you still hear the fan blowing at all during big games?
@@Dewoesjoem Sometimes I did. It's normal for the fan to spin up sometimes. I sold the Xbox and got a Series X.
@@fortnerindustries can you hear that one while playing? I’ve heard ppl say it’s louder then Xbox one s while playing, true?
I just use toothpaste 🥴🥴
So I’m going to try to fix the Bose “midrange” speakers to hold up a bit longer before replacing. That said, what is the downside or plus to keeping that Bose amp plugged in after a new head unit is installed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If you leave the BOSE amp plugged in, you will be sending an already amplified signal to the BOSE amp which then amplifies the signal again. Great way to blow out your speakers in a big hurry, and you'll have basically zero volume control on the head unit. Also, BOSE speakers have a really low impedance (typically 2ohm or LESS for door speakers), so I doubt you'll be able to find a set of aftermarket midranges that will work properly with the factory BOSE amp. My car had a pair of Kickers installed before I replaced the head unit and those kind of worked, but they were 6ohm I believe so the BOSE amp wasn't able to fully power them. Bypassing the BOSE amp fixes all of these issues and really isn't hard to do.
Fortner Industries finally able to bypass it and put some 80rms 6.5” Kenwood components. It was hard to find 8” component set with tweeters that fit the stock location. Sound decent but my head unit kinda sucks lol putting an amp in soon and hoping to run new wires to the doors so I don’t have to deal with the Bose and radio harness plug nightmare lol thank you for your response bro!
@@fortnerindustries Clearwater audio has a kit that is designed to work with the bose amp.
Mine is overheating and turning off after i start a game i did replace thermal past but still same problem noisy fan and turning off after 2 minutes of starting game
Are your fans dead
I recently replaced one of these, using a motor from Digi-Key: www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/jinlong-machinery-electronics-inc/C1234B016F/1670-1085-ND/9974297
I’m going to have to embark on this journey with my Xbox one X as it is a late 2017 model and experiences overheating issues similar to the ones that you have experienced. I’ve never conducted any sort of repair like this before so please wish me luck as I’m very nervous going into this, regardless your video has given me confidence and I must say thank you for your hard work.
How’d it go?
Did it work??
I love how the title of the video is the one thing that isn’t in the video. The unit magically appears mounted in the location . I’m having trouble finding clips to secure it tightly, the adapters my unit came with are too narrow so the head unit is loose
Well, the Metra dash kit I used was so self-explanatory, I didn't include it in the video. At 1:54, I showed the adapter bracket screwed to the stereo, and that whole assembly just pushes into the hole in the dash and clips into place. It's been in there over a year now with no issues. There's a link in the description to the exact dash kit I used, and it's been great. The hard part is knowing how to install the reverse camera, bypass the amp, and installing the powered antenna switch.
Fortner Industries yes, please tell us the model of the Metra kit you used for the NB MX-5. Thanks
@@milesbizzell8811 Metra 99-7505. I obviously didn't use the included single-DIN tray, but it works with either single or double-DIN.
My Xbox gets loud on all 4K games but doesn't shutdown or overheat. Would this work to make it's quieter?
It should help. Call of Duty never actually shut down my console, but it got extremely loud. It's quieter after doing this, but your experience may vary.
Mods will void your warrenty taking the sticker off will not that sticker is illegal anyways
See 1:00. ;) I know it will void the warranty, but my console was out of warranty when I did this, so I had nothing to lose. Of course you attempt this at your own risk.
