I have gone as far to write the company that make these mirrors trying to get parts. I hate the idea that it would cost $500 for a replacement when we only need the shell. In my research, Caddy XLR is also like the C6, The Pont. G6 convertible is also a swivel mount, (the only other to use the swivel mount) has upgraded "fingers" that hold the rotating ball that are larger and should hold up better, but ts not a exact fit. Someone needs to reproduce a shell.

I’ve got a 2001 C5 and it’s an amazing car. Corvettes are just amazing cars for daily driving, and have some fun every once in a while corvettes are all around just great cars and can be good daily drivers

which alternator did you use and did it hold up well?

This needs to be done on my 2007 C6,because the 90 has a small Crack. The shop says that they have to remove way more parts than you did and charge me a shit ton of money! I got a lot of good information watching you perform this task. I am impressed! Great job and thank you for your video. Keep your videos coming.

You can straighten it also by clamping in a vise and attach other end to a drill snd spin it. It will straighten right out.

Drew Man thanks a mil. I drive a 2000 c5 M6 Vette. As usual getting the "LOW FEUL" light w/DIC (Code :P01431), which indicates pass. side fuel sending sensor prob. On this model I was told that I could access the sending unit by un-bolting it from the tank & removing it w/o dropping the fuel tank. I was told this side has just the level sensor plus other components. Have u a vid. on doing the passenger side of the '97-'04 c5 cars? Also how do I make sure I purchase the correct fuel level sending unit/sensor for my 2000 c5 M6 vette? HELP!! Best.

Hey Drew Mann, I've got a C6 2008 Automatic too. I recently installed a "Red Light Bandit" to the accelerator harness. There is a hesitation in the acceleration because of the fly by wire system from the manufacturer. The "Red Light Bandit" makes the acceleration instant and exciting. This device plugs in between the accelerator and the main harness under the dash and doesn't affect anything else. Super cool driving experience! Also, "Maguire's Headlight Coating" is a spray that slows down the UV lens hazing damage on the headlights. The Coating lasts about a year then you will need to re-apply it again after sanding off the coating from the previous year. I put some on my C6 last year and will see how long it lasts this coming year. I keep a cover on my C6 when I'm not driving it, so, that may help the lenses stay clear longer. The lenses face upward and so the UV Rays are hitting them constantly. That is what makes the lenses haze over. FYI

IMHO: THAT MINOR "CURVE" IS NOT AN ISSUE, IF YOU CUT A WING THAT IS THINNER THAN THE FACTORY BOARD THICKNESS!... YOU REALLY OUGHT TO USE A STRONGER SPRING, TO TENSION YOUR HOTWIRE!!!... AND, RUN ALL OF YOUR CUTS IN A VERTICAL PLANE, GOING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SLAB, TOWARD THE TOP, SO THAT THE RISING HEAT FROM THE WIRE DOES MORE CUTTING, AND SPEEDS UP THE RATE OF CUT... (WITH A BIT LESS DISTORTION), AND, NEVER USE A "FACTORY SURFACE" (CUT ALL EDGES, AROUND THE AIRFOIL)... ALSO, TURN UP THE VOLTAGE, A BIT, SO THAT THE WIRE CUTS FASTER!!... USE A THINNER (SMALLER GAUGE WIRE)... TO GET FASTER, CLEANER CUTS.

your external relay is in parallel with the existing relay circuit. so the fuel pump is still protected by the existing fuse like before.

I had to find out at a dealer that no Z06 (unless it's a c7) is targa top, I was looking for latches that didn't exist until the salesman came out and said "wrong trim" thank you both for teaching me something

From what I have heard the dealer charges about $5k to do what you did in a few hours. I have done the passenger tank sending unit on C5 before so it can be done just like you did on jack stands. You made it look very easy. Old guys like me dont move as fast as flexible as you do . This was one of the best videos I have seen on You Tube. For as young as you are you are one hell of a good mechanic. Wish my grandsons had your skills none of them have any interest in working on cars. Guess I wont be willing my Corvette to them on my passing.
