I'm at 142k Mile's since I bought new in 2008. A manual z51 and it's been ultra reliable. I daily driver since new. Just a great sports car and the HUD and npp exhaust is nice to have. Thanks for your video..btw . I never did any repairs myself and paid the dealer. I added up the bills and I think I spent besides oil, tires, gas and insurance 6300 dollars total.. I did have the gmpp warranty which did cover the car until 78k miles so you could say I spent 6300 to go from 78k miles to 142k miles which I think has been a bargain. Not that I do it but this sportscar tops out 190 mph 1.0 lateral g cornering, gets 16 city, 26 hwy mpg etc...and the roof cones off when you want a convertible like experience. My C8 z41 should be in around August. I'll be sad to see this great c6 go...but c6 Corvettes with confidence. IMO

    Things to know:
Do not by 2005 (first model year) electrical, differential problem s,
Always use shell or Chevron gasoline period nothing else,
Came with a 4 speed in the auto (05 only),
The ride height is adjustible on all c6 models,
The base ride height is higher off the ground then z51,zo6,grandsport,zr-1,
I wouldn't daily it if over 6 feet tall,
The car is fast despite what people on the internet say, the base Vette has a top speed of 186 mph & a sub 4 second 0-60, it is capable of doing 1 lateral G in the handling department,
A cam & free flowing exhaust will net 70-100 + wheel horsepower gain, the weight depending on package and if convertible is 3180 +,
    Tires and brakes are affordable,
It can achieve 27-31 mpg on the highway ,
    Get the manual transmission,
    05-07 ls2 (400 hp)

Hey Drew Mann, I've got a C6 2008 Automatic too. I recently installed a "Red Light Bandit" to the accelerator harness. There is a hesitation in the acceleration because of the fly by wire system from the manufacturer. The "Red Light Bandit" makes the acceleration instant and exciting. This device plugs in between the accelerator and the main harness under the dash and doesn't affect anything else. Super cool driving experience! Also, "Maguire's Headlight Coating" is a spray that slows down the UV lens hazing damage on the headlights. The Coating lasts about a year then you will need to re-apply it again after sanding off the coating from the previous year. I put some on my C6 last year and will see how long it lasts this coming year. I keep a cover on my C6 when I'm not driving it, so, that may help the lenses stay clear longer. The lenses face upward and so the UV Rays are hitting them constantly. That is what makes the lenses haze over. FYI

Good stuff, I would be a bit concerned about giving a third party device control over the throttle, just in the event that something went wrong and it commanded full power without my input. Good tip with the Headlight Coating, I'll have to pick up a bottle :)

Nice smooth video, no bumps, must have done your own shocks too. My 05 has cost me $6200 just in 2020. About $3,000 from 2016 to 2019. So many electrical issues I lost count...had to replace stereo, both windows and both doors stopped working at different times, brake light sensor, turn signal sensor. It sounds simple and cheap but only dealers were able to fix alot of these things here in West Palm Beach and they really rob a guy at $200/hour and way overpriced parts. I'm wondering if dealers in your area charge that much too? The independent mechanics tell me they fixed something and then it quits working again before I even get home.

@@vincentarzaga4239 No one seems to be answering your question regarding reliability. So, I'll chime in. The LS3 will obviously have better reliability than the older, more inefficient LS2. But, you can probably find yourself stretching each engine out to 300k miles if you take very good care of it. Beyond the engine, there are also other things to consider. The LS3 handles better than the LS2. And if you're planning on buying a manual, then go ahead with an LS3 because it requires less shifting effort.
Now that's a lot of pros for the LS3. So, I want you to know that the LS2 ain't no slouch either. Hell, I would advise you buy an LS2 and have some money left over for whatever you desire.

people only obsess over manual transmissions because people obsess over manual transmissions. It was a sales gimmick back in the day to sell a bunch of manual cars when some of the companies began to switch to automatic, then it got out of control....all the brainwashed dads told all their brainwashed sons auto's are for bitches and w/e else. Then fast and furious poured gas on the flames. The fact is, 95% of these assholes obsessing over manuals probably shift slower than an automatic, and probably don't even take their car to the track anyway. To me (i'm unbiased in everything and a nerd) a manual is just fucking stupid. I'm all about technology and ADVANCING, and driving an auto is like taking the power steering out of a car and saying "i'm a badass, only bitches use power steering". It's just fucking dumb. I have been driving a manual jeep the past couple of years (not by choice) and I hate it. Constantly shifting...can't eat, can't look at my phone, can't do anything. Always shifting. It's like all this hard work just to drive. Technology is light-years beyond manual transmissions but stupid people just keep dragging that shit out. I say a) it's pointless, get rid of it, and b) keep the paddle shifting or w/e its' called where it's an auto and you can manually shift by pressing a button. It's just as good without the clutch bullshit, for those of you who want so badly to shift yourselves (for w/e stupid reason). I'll never buy another manual after this jeep, not even a sports car. If I get a c6 (which I most likely will next year, been saving up for one) i'd rather get a base model than a z06 if the z06 is a manual. I know the c5's they were only manual, not sure on c6 but fuck z06 if it's manual...fuck that shit. I wanna use this car to pick up hot chics man...I like to use my phone to check my stocks or social media or txts...not sit there focused on shifting all the time. How do you get road head in a manual? "hold on, stop sucking my dick so i can shift again". Fuck that.

A human will never be able to shift as fast as the automatic transmission can. I've owned several manual transmission cars and they're highly overrated.

manuals are more "fun" for me plain and simple..... instead of stomping the gas and just holding the wheel it requires more driver inputs. funny post though for sure lol

@@grapas100 your right ESPECIALLY on 2012 and newer sports cars. BUT with most stock cars of this generation the manuals will run better times... newer cars its the opposite as the autos are shifting in milliseconds

Press that button ONE time, traction control off.... you want active handling on, it will only save your ass if your extremely sideways.
