    The orange plate insert can be improved by cutting 6mm mdf and fitting it into the grooves of the plate underneath. Or you can use filler foam and slice it to fit. Both work well. Resin too is good. I used the mdf originally, but now I have an Evolution zero clearance plate.

As there would be hassle swopping heads, I have just bit the bullet and ordered one of these- that will force me to make room for it. • @enemyofthestatewearein7945

    Great breakdown of the pros and cons. For me the table saw mainly scores for doing rips, especially if the rip is very thin, or you want to quickly rip a large number of pieces to the exact same size. For just about everything else, and especially with sheet materiel, the track saw is just easier in terms of handling, and it's also much better for doing scoring cuts on laminates.

  • @enemyofthestatewearein7945

    The woodworking act says that a guard must always be used, unless it's impossible to do the task with it fitted. So it's perfectly legal to remove the guard to do a dado cut, because you can't do such a cut it with the guard fitted.

    That looks to be an excellent router lift and fence JP. The workstation is coming along very well. Is there a particular reasoning behind the use of furniture board rather than say plywood or MRMDF?

    • @Smallbarnworkshop
      @Smallbarnworkshop Před 15 dny

      Hi Roy. Thanks. No other reason than cost. For some reason the French shops don’t stock sheet material like the UK. They are full of furniture board and MFC. 18mm ply is softwood and like life on the ocean waves and MDF is expensive ( but cheap stuff!) so like blotting paper. The last stuff I bought went mouldy in a fortnight. In 18 years I have never seen MRMDF and the last full sheet of 18mm OSB I saw was over €100. Although, 16mm flooring 2500 x 650 is relatively cheap. Thats why I use lots of Parquet flooring, good quality and cheap. Regards JP

      @@Smallbarnworkshop That's very interesting JP. It seems strange that all of our UK stores are full of plywood and mdf (admittedly most of dubious quality) and yet I've never seen, over here, a length of parquet flooring such as you use in any diy store.🤔 I for one would be happy to try some as most floorboarding in UK stores is not of the best quality.

    Hi JP - many thanks for the video. It was interesting to watch because only last month I made a router table and fitted the same lift attachment and fence from Banggood. (i have the dewalt router). I had a number of similar issues - made a router error when cutting t track slots - my clumsiness but the mistake is cosmetic only. My top was about 26mm thick so I decided to buy some longer bolts and when mounting the plate I made the same mistake and initially put the levelling screws in from underneath. A couple of days later when I was struggling to level the plate , the mistake dawned on me !!. I have made several purchases from Banggood and been delighted with quality but lack of instructions sometimes a problem . CZcams comes in useful to see what others have done. Your comment about the plate being a tight fit is interesting because Dennis from the Hooked on Wood channel thought his adhesive template was slightly loose- maybe they have resized it . I continue to enjoy your channel - keep up the good work. Regards

    Hey JP great vid again. Really liked how you used feet under the top surface to dial in the height to match the saw. I think I will now make something similar for my Bosch table saw. I think I will make the router section wide enough to allow a Bosch AdvancedVac 20 to fit under which can work for the two items on the cart. I built two of these Vacs into my main Workbench. They are great and you plug in your tools to these and they automatically power on and off when the tools start/stop. I did consider using blastgates and pipes to split one Vac but all these parts add up and the Bosch Vac when on special on Amazon cost me €92. Also whenever you move the cart you take the dust extraction with you. Maybe something to consider on Cart V3.0. The nick you made with your router is there to remind you every time you use the router to be careful. Better to nick some wood than your finger.

    YES!! Great video! i've been looking for some guidance on install since buying the enjoywood lift.. I like that you made the top removable, at first wasn't sure of the purpose, but after seeing the ease of access, it made sense. Going to check out how you installed the fence tracks.. Oh yea, what lights do you have mounted above, they seem to flush out any dark areas in the shop.. Many thanks again!

      Hi Drew. Thank you. The lights are 40w LED that I bough from eBay a few years ago. They were relatively inexpensive, maybe about £12 each. Regards JP

    JP's Small Barn Fine Workshop Furniture and Sawdust Emporium. Nice build. ICR to the clumsy slip with a power tool. Take care & stay safe all.

    Router base is coming on well JC, it’s a shame about the nick out of the top but it’s nothing really. Thanks for the video.👍👍

      Hi Terry. I’m pleased with the overall build, annoyed by my faux pas! Regards JP

    Not available in the US. But I just bought the 6 piece kit from Amana and really like it. Whatever one you buy make sure it has the ball bearing so you don’t wreck the wood surface and also carbide cutters.
