Why Is this bolt $25? Ford 2.3 Valve Cover Bolt Problems
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 4 lety
In this video, I am dealing with an issue that it seems like a number of people have run into. While replacing the Valve Cover gasket on a 2001 Ford Ranger with a 2.3 liter engine, I had a number of the isolators for the bolts damaged beyond being able to be used, and found NO replacement options outside of finding a few replacement bolts here and there for about $25 a piece. You don't need to splice the wires. Remove the inner socket and reuse the same wires by putting the inner socket to hold the existing wires.
Thank you for this. God bless you. That vehicle is so clean underneath! Just did an oil pan on a leaky silverado. My family thought I was in blackface, truly. I sure was happy and singing when it was done...despite needing two showers!
The miles per gallon should be more
Great presentation
How long does it take to do this job? I don't want to start it and not have planned enough time for it
I'm not trying to be rude man, but I was watching another video, and this one started playing all I heard was write down some radio presets right before you work on a car.I'm sorry as long as my car turning. When I get it back on, give it d*** about none of the f****** radio was preseads.Sorry
Bravo. I just did mine following your instructions step by step. Perfect video. More power to you. thank you very much for. I just saved $$$ by doing it myself thru your guidance.
Great video! Clear and concise explanation with helpful illustration and demonstration. Thank you.
What causes the actual valve to move up? The pressure of the air that flows from filtered air before the air intake manifold through the crankcase to the airinlet (after air intake manifold)? Is this flow of air constant?
Thank you so much
Great video! I'm gonna do it! I have a question, though. I have previously replaced the ball joints and found them to be big trouble. So, can I unbolt the lower control arms from the subframe and swivel them out of the way without taking out the ball joints?
Great tutorial 👍
Thanks for the quick help
Thank you for the video! I was able to replace this part myself and saved $500, which was the quote I received from the mechanic I took it to. I was able to do it without disconnecting the u joint. Was able to do it in about 2.5 hours. And, wow! No more clicking and clunking. Been driving for years with this problem. Thanks for the insight which made it go much easier and smoother.
I had the display on the Odometer reading (not Trip 1 or Trip 2). Turn off ignition. Press and hold Trip Odometer button and turn on ignition. Watch it count down and clear. Done.
He laid everything out and made it so easy to follow. I have the same sonata and I fixed this problem myself with just basic tools. not hard at all. just time consuming.
Facts I replace all sway bar links and rods and control arms and cv axel and all that trying to charge me 3k for labor alone
🥹 Thank you, short, sweet, and to the point
Man be careful that brake dust is for your heath
Of all the videos of mechanics doing that work, yours is without a doubt the best related video. Straight to the point with logical and easy-to-follow explanations. I have a 2008 Nissan Rogue and the mechanics I have visited are a bunch of incompetents, they can't even use common sense to solve problems. Car owners are required to learn how to repair their own cars or have to change the car every year. I take my hat off to citizens like you, A+

After punctured the tire (pothole) I was in need to install spare tire, so I could only get in that situation 225/50/17 tire (other three are 215/50/17). One wider tire installed on the rear right position. I'm in the process of finding the same 215/50/17 tire, and occasionally driving with one wider tire (and with different pattern), and I didn't notice any change in control, balance, braking, also in 6th gear on highway. Do I really need to match one wider tire ASAP? What are the symptoms of driving with one tire wider 10mm than others on the system? Thanks.
You’re a champ, this is exactly my model, I have everything apart and was about to tackle the column removal, and seeing you take the column out gives me more confidence on doing it myself. Thanks for making this awesome video
How long can you drive with that problem..?
Great vid...do I hear woodpeckers squaking in background? OR squirrel ? LOL Thanks!
nice...other than speed...any performance issues? thinking to change my tires from 245 / 40 R19 to 245 / 45 R19.
Where did you get that set to install them?
Check operation first, use a screwdriver, or risk a finger (TYVM for that little tidbit) to check if the TB is seized or sticking. Have a friend step on the gas with the key on, engine OFF and watch TB, should fully cycle. If not suspect wiring or pedal sensor and check wiring/voltage as he and others have described. My 06 500 TB made a horrible grinding noise and didn't move at all. Problem solved. You could've skipped the whole cleaning procedure for your customer, but that's cool, it was very informative. The extra step in DCing the wiring harness saved me, as well as the short/discharge/relearn procedure. TYVM again! Great video!
Great job!
Have a blessed day!
I been in a battle with my honda pilot power steering issues, replaced the high-pressure line due to a bad leak and now still makes a noise was quiet for a bit but now it started again, hopefully, it isn't due kink a possible kink on the high-pressure line, (was trying to replace the P/S sensor because it's still leaking a tiny bit when car was off) Ill replace the o-ring tonight hopefully it resolves it! I'll probably flush it with valvoline maxlife because I heard its better than normal P/s fluid.. also have some leftover from my transmission fluid change. 04 Pilot with 189K
I think its a bad design from nissan
@@vigneshwaranms Absolutely agree, I think it's a complete trash design.
Super helpful video. I subscribed based on this. Terrific
It can't always go as smooth as we want
I watched a few videos of this task and you by far looked liked you knew what you were doing to me compared to the other videos you knew what you had to do to get it done, and your narration of the video definitely made you look like you were doing in my opinion
This video is great. Thank you
@juanitameza5507 Thank you, I'm glad you liked it and I hope it helped you.
A month after getting new tires on my 2023 ES350, I suddenly have a humm at 50+mph. It’s very slight, but I hear it and slightly feel it. After experimenting, I find if I set my cruise at 60, while driving straight, I can turn the wheel to the left ever so slightly, and the noise goes away. Move it back to center the noise comes back- every time. Car only has 23,000 miles. Could it be a wheel bearing?
bout to do this job and replace the control arms, stabilizers, tie rods (inner and outer). Probably take all day but took me and my buddy a couple of inspections before we figured out it was the bushings. The others need replacing after 120k miles. That noise will drive your crazy trying to figure out what it is.
What did you use to cut the valve so nicely?
Thank you for uploading this video.
Thank you for the information l.
Good work
This video and another one helped ne Fix my Kia and saved me $800 from the mechanic
That's good automotive education,I agree, based from my being FAA certified aircraft mechanic technician schooling in California
Wow! That worked perfectly and was super easy...THANKS!!!!
On my 2002 Ford Focus, although it uses a MAF sensor, the PCV breather intake is not metered and the value is simply programmed into the PCM. The hose connects before the MAF sensor.
Thank you
Actually the correct button to push is the one on the left side of the dash labeled “PUSH/ODO TRIP”Verified it on my 2006 Highlander after looking at other more accurate online instructions. Clarification: This video is showing the correct steps for a 2001-2005 Highlander. Starting in 2006, the button to push was switched to the left-side button labeled “PUSH/ODO TRIP”
where could I get this tool?
Would be better if you explained how it can cause oil to get into combustion chamber and oil up plugs
