    This game has a lot of class. It was my first Zelda game. I remember acquiring it in the late 90s. I couldn't even read yet and I was attempting to play it. I would have to call in my parents or my sister to read the dialogue from all the characters so I could know what to do. If they were busy I would explore the map and discover secrets. I remember when I found the ice rod I was so amazed like it was a secret Item I found early access to. I eventually got older and when I was six I started to understand the game more and actually made it to the tower of Hera. I was so amazed. I thought it was so cool to be able to take this warp and end up in what I called a "haunted hyrule" because when I looked at my map I found a dark and dreary landscape that resembled Hyrule. As I climbed the tower I could never figure out how to drop down to the big chest to get this moon pearl I had heard about. So instead, because I had access to the boss, I faced him instead since he could be defeated with my sword. Then Sahasrahla tells me I can get the master sword. So I rush to get it, and am scared as I am told Zelda was kidnapped. I rush to Sanctuary to find the priest was killed. I instead go back up Death mountain and read that stone tablet with the book of Mudora and get the Ether emblem then head back to Hyrule Castle to face Agahnim. I remember being so excited. A game I had dedicated a few years of my life to and I was almost at the last boss. When I finally beat him, I was so amazed and yet perplexed as I transferred to the dark world. I never figured out how to get the moon pearl, so I ended up being a bunny as I appeared on top of the pyramid. I ended up using the magic mirror and spending an hour in the tower of Hera until I realized you could mess with the layout of the floor on both floors and land down below on the path to the chest. After this, I bought the Zora flippers and ended up exploring what I could of the Dark World, and acquired the Earthquake medallion. Then after finding the Dark Palace of the east, I really struggled with it to find the big key. I think it would be a month of my time before I got to the boss. Then the rest of the game went by quite quickly. I was 8 now and I remember having a gamecube at this time and yet I still played Link to the past. Then I finally beat it. when I did I was so amazed. It was something I played from a young age and likely took 4 or 5 years to beat. It felt like I really grew up and had been through a lot both in game and in my personal life. One great thing about this game is that all the items in Link's inventory are used all throughout the story. Nothing gets wasted and becomes a "only used this one in the entire game for a specific dungeon" sort of item. It has really aged well, and the sprite graphics will always have a timeless charm unlike a lot of titles on the NES and even N64. I still have my snes and every one in a while I have to do a playthrough. The SNES was really a 2d/16bit masterpiece and A Link To The Past is one of the crown jewels of the system, along with Super Mario World, Earthbound and Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2.

    Apple insurance and united insurance regarding nhes Bitcoin. New Holland El Salvador Bitcoin citizenship. National health electronic services. Nintendo health entertainment system. Same concept? Regarding how it is like a nonprofit organization about mutual technology communication boundaries. Needs social consent and approval... New York city became New Holland El Salvador for Bitcoin citizenship using Nintendo health care information services by making a DAAP such that mexico is following the east coast of USA with it's west coast matching at El Salvador being New York city? Hmm. Big deal topic about real id and social barriers of personal identity records and relations of content... The truth. 400 years of Mexico and New Holland for a side 3 citizenship for New York city union.

    Amazing piece! You probably should’ve mentioned its legacy in the many romhacks and Mario maker titles, but this was really, really great. Smw is my fav Mario game ever and I feel like I know every single thing about it and this still was very eye opening (especially the bit about how the music uses the same notes in different ways). I feel platforming games have yet to surpass the legacy of smw, and Nintendo has never outdone themselves in the 30+ years since regarding platforming; I don’t care how much people try to place the 3d ones above this title. It’s simply too tightly executed, with too many positive traits to list here (which would be redundant under such a perfect retrospective!). Anyway, great work, it’s easy to tell you love this game, and know what makes it so great. (This is your gameplay? I saw some really neat sequences!)

      @@NESComplex as silly as it sounds this game was the dmc of its time, where you were consistently finding stylish new mechanics and techniques to tackle the same problems which weren’t necessarily extremely difficult but could be tackled in perhaps hundreds of ways. You could play a thousand hours before realizing you can for example eat the lava monsters or fly with the spin jump or… a lot of things I can’t remember right now! (Watch a tas!)

    It's a great game, but like a lot of old games, I don't put much stock in the story. One thing you could have gone into was the "Zelda is your ..." mystery which left people guessing if maybe Zelda and Link were siblings. A later version of the game confirmed that Link's uncle meant to say that Zelda is Link's destiny, that he was fated to save her. There was no familial implication or anything like that. But it's worded poorly. I think the fan works should be noted as well, for example if you were to ever remake this video or make a second part. Most notable are three that I know of. First is like a director's cut, it changes some of the dialogue to be less vague and more in-line with other Zelda games. It raises the limits of what you can carry. It raises the donation amounts so you spend just a little less time raising your bomb/arrow caps. It makes it so you can change directions while dashing. And it reworks the inventory a little bit, so the bottles aren't a sub-menu. Honestly it's the best way to play the game. There's also Parallel Worlds, a ROM hack which is aware you're using an emulator, and its difficulty takes into consideration your ability to save scum and use cheats. Therefore, it's difficult in ways not easily countered. A dungeon where you don't get a weapon. A dungeon that is all dark rooms. A dungeon that is all ice floors and pits. Also, it takes graphical considerations from future Zelda titles, and even includes puzzles from other Zelda games (you'll need to recall the Lost Woods pattern from the first game). Then there's the Randomizer. Not only does it move everything around (and do so logically so you can never be locked out), but you can play another mode, where you only need to collect 20 Triforce pieces, also scattered around. You can change the color of the hearts, disable the low health beep, and even change your avatar, to, say, the female lead from the anime Sword Art Online... and a bunch of other random characters. Including Zelda herself and other versions of Link. (And they all change with the tunic upgrades.) Why Randomizer? Well, you've done the main quest however many times, we all have. Needing to know where every secret is can be very helpful. Also, it's fun when you get a sword upgrade while escaping the sewers. (You can get bombs there, too, so you don't need to return via the cemetery.)

  • @Goochbag8
    @Goochbag8 Před 13 dny

    Absolutely fair #1 pick in my opinion. It's timeless and I still play it constantly, whether it be Randomized or the wonderful Ancient Dungeon romhack. I just keep going back for more. I know ALTTP randomizer gets the most attention and community, but I think people should really hop on playing more TLoZ 1!
