    My older cousin bought this game when it came out and brought it to my grandparents house (where the Nintendo lived) I fell in love with it immediately even though my 8 year old ass was terrible at it. He would leave his bad games for me to play like Rambo and Friday the 13th and I remember getting so mad because he wouldn't let me borrow this game but i never forgot about it and when i started buying back some of the games i played as a kid this was at the top of the list. it is just as fun as i remembered. Love how you included the PAL version of the helmet-clad Jay. Actually we were lucky enough to have Sunsoft games normalized on PAL systems so the music plays as fast as it should. My gripes about it being I found it fairly easy and it also feels a bit rushed/unfinished. I would've loved a more fleshed out level layout and weapon system. Other than that, it's a pleasure to play. I love playing the 3 loops every time I fire it up. Cheers!

I completed Journey to Silius and he Robin Hood. Either had completed our own games before. Many years later I bought the game for myself. A good game! To me it feels like Mega Man but more like an arcade-style game. The first levels aren't that difficult but level 4 and 5 amps it up. The last level and second last boss will kick your ass more the once. The music is terrific. I did finish the game as a kid and in only a few days. But make no misstake. It is not as easy game. Maybe not unfairly hard like others on the system but a good challenge. I would give it a 4 / 5.

    Great review. Pretty much summed up my feelings near the end, tough and frustrating game at points, but it's very fun and addicting. You can't put it down, once you get a game over, you want to just give up on it, but you find yourself starting a new game over to try and get further than you did. That's when you know you have a good game on your hands. The soundtrack is awesome as well. I only found out about this game as an adult, I think it was through a NES Pursuit video come to think of it, but I immediately went out in search for a copy when I heard the game praised.

    I never had access to this game prior to now. I've been contemplating playing it as it's one of the free titles on the Switches nes line up. So I had to come and check out your review, is it fun.
    I love that concept. I hope you add to it sometime.

    It's silly to think that future people would be using floppies but admit it, if you could use modern technology to make 3 1/4 floppies with terabytes of capacity you would.
    I love the idea of using future technology to emulate the look and feel of technology from 30 to 40 years ago with modern day performance.

    It IS fun. It's just hard as hell. Plus, it gets bonus points in my book for originally being planned as a Terminator game. So much better than the crap that Radical Entertainment and Mindscape gave us a year or two later in what was officially the Terminator game on NES.

    2:45 Hmmm, I don't think it's a floppy disk so much as a future storage medium inspired by floppies. Music CDs were already out and somewhat popular in Japan by the late 80's. There were ZIP drives as well, which this looks closer to, but even more so does it remind me of a minidisc, which started to become popular after this game was out.

    • @marklucas3140
      @marklucas3140 Před rokem

      Yes! Exactly! It's the future of ZIP disks! I'm bored to death with USB drives, and cloud information is perfect for people who want to have their noods all over the internet. Bring back ZIP!

    I bought this game along with MetalStorm at a local store around 10 years ago for $5 each. I ended up selling MetalStorm but kept this game. I actually used the money to by a PC-Engine game (Soldier Blade as shmup is my favorite genre) so I'm not sad I sold MetalStorm. But the soundtrack alone in Journey to Silius means I can never sell it.
