Can you use regular art paint or only micas
Yes, you definitely can! Just use it sparingly when mixing it into resin. I like using heavy body acrylic paints. I also use acrylic inks too.

Wouldn’t it be simpler to use the bowl upside down.. then when you use the heat, the flow will.. WTH gravity.. pull down, making it easier to form & shape. 🤔🤔👍🏻

Hi It turns gorgeous What kind of paint did you use to make it gold? Does it get tarnished later on?
Thank you! There are a few things you can use such a gold colored oil based paint pen, Liquid Leaf, gold spray paint, and gold mica mixed in with a little bit gloss sealer. They do not tarnish.

It should be fine for indoor climbing plants, but I will be bringing my plants outside for the summer, so I don't see that being an issue. I made another one using leaf molds on a plank for my Micans. I posted a short yesterday. I can't wait for that to start climbing too, lol!

That would work too, but because so much time had lapsed from when I poured, it wouldn't have worked.

Thank you! What happened? Believe me when I say that I have fails quite frequently, but the beauty with resin is that you can always hide mistakes with other layers, etc. Don't give up. You got this!

I watched someone make a ruffled edge bowl similar to yours and they put a marble between the bowl and the resin to hold up the ruffle while it was setting, it worked great! You could probably use any type of smooth glass ball or even oval shape.

is there some alternatives of pipe cleaners?
Yes, you can make borax crystals without pipe cleaners. The borax just needs something to grab on to - so the more textured a surface, the better. You can use cotton balls, pine cones, and even books just to name a few.
