Are you Weakhearted or Tenderhearted
Sometimes we mistake tenderness of heart for weakness and so we bolster ourselves with pride in order to be strong men. In this video I want to bring clarity to what it means to be tender hearted vs weak hearted so that we can stand strong in the throws of life and not become cold towards the world thinking we are tough.

It make look like its cupped towards the pith side now. But as its dries it will cupp to the bark side. If you go back and look at that board now i bet its cupped to hold water.
you need to slow down, stop using your nailgun as a hammer.
Very useful video. Im wanna add a small workbench in my shed. Thanks for the inspiration!
I think you did it backwards. Professional carpenters recommend placing the bark side down, with the grain forming a "smiley face" to help shed water and reduce cupping.
How long did it take you to build this? From Pickin up the shed to heading back home ?
Typically, starting at 6:30 it takes 30-40 minutes to load onto my trailer. Maybe an hour to hour 30 driving, sometimes longer. This size shed in the video takes on site usually 4 to 4 1/2 hours and then the drive back home makes for a 8 hr day. Usually I work 6-9 hr days every now and then less and once in a blue moon a 12 hr day but on site actually installing takes between 2-7 hrs depending on shed type and sizes
@@ChrisSilverman and what happens when for whatever reason you can’t complete the shed? I heard you said you had one door handle missing! You have to go back for small stuff like that?
very informative 👏
Glad it was helpful!
Seriously how come the baluster directions say stair rail tubes should be 5 1/2" on center?
Code requirements are typically 4” and so using 3 1/2” is easily meets code and allows someone to use a 2x4 to space them
@@ChrisSilverman Thank you for your reply. The confusing part is that I am using "Precision" brand balusters which includes the connectors for both straight and angles stair rails. On the box everything comes in, it says to put the flat rails at 4 1/2" and the on the same box says, place stair rail connectors 5 1/2". Hence my confusion. As a rank novice who is not talented in this area AT ALL (So there's that) I have managed to replace the entire deck rails and they turned out really well. But I am having fits with the one short 7-step stair up to our doorway. Is the key here to get the bottom post mounted and then work from there? (All the other posts were pre-existing. I have to replace this one though.
A good way to install the stair rails might be to preassemble the rail system on the ground by installing the angled clips on the 2x4 then attach the rails using clear silicone to help them adhere. Then attach the top rail 2x4 to the rails and then attach the rail system to the 4x4 posts. @@ChrisSilverman Thx for your your help and patience!
Safety methods a bit wonky. LOL
The other option is to drill out just the big hole or holes, you can see though the bigger holes that the top holes are lined up with their center marks, that way you're more positive, if you layed it out properly your top is in the correct position and the Susan will spin centered inside the cabinet
You’re a legend dude. Ben. Australia.

🤣
Looks very clean Chris. I love it . I am doing mine today
Hey Chris hope all is well your way!!
Good job!!! What minimum size trailer you think you could use..
I’d recommend using a 16’ utility trailer as a minimum size
Also do you have to use a trailer or can you use your truck bed?
Id recommend a 16’ utility trailer as a minimum. You could use a flatbed truck; it might be tight carrying all the needed tools and supplies though.
What's the minimum size trailer u can use? If u dont mind
I’d use a 16’ utility trailer as minimum size.
Chris, amazing skills. Shed looks great. How do you anchor it into the ground? I live in a place that gets super high winds almost weekly. Thanks for sharing this.
Tuff Shed has some custom anchors that spiral into the ground and connect through the shed framing. They have also used “mobile home anchors” that use a strap to attach to the metal frame. If you Google search “mobile home anchors” you’ll find what I’m talking about. I hope this helps 🙏🏻✌🏻
How did you get this job? I’ve been trying to contact the hiring managers for weeks already!
Aw man I hate it’s been difficult to get in contact. I onboarded in 2021 by contacting my local branch where I knew they pre-fab the builds. It could be helpful to show up in person.
Hiw much did it pay for that shed
I think it paid around $350 to install
Too late I have learned that cedar siding should never be sealed underneath with caulk (or paint) ... It will trap moisture and cause permanent damage ... My question is how to remove it now that it has been painted? ... I see the paint bubbling on hot days ... Siding is intended to breath via the overlay ...
You may need to cut the caulk lines and then possibly use some paint that can endure the heat. I’ve seen a number of homes siding get blasted by the sun ☀️ making the paint peel or even vinyl siding plastic melt. I don’t know if I have a reliable tip though.
The problem is, if the house has newer windows, the bottom of them runs right on top of the sill, all the way across. Therefore, the sill can't be cut in this way.
I believe to have tender heart you have to have relationships with Jesus Christ
Great job
Wow I guess you’re at the mercy of the installer
Dang, I wish I had your hair!
Did you mean a Miter saw?
You sir are awesome!
Great advice!!!👍
Keep the videos coming bro
That roof is going to leak the way you failed to stagger the shingles at 24:00 did you read the instructions on the bundle to stagger 6"
Me and you as far as earning wages before starting companies sounds about the same. Now I pretty much just bid and when I get time I do handyman work. I live in a more rural area and I think even if I lived in an urban area I would still do the same but I charge 150 to 200 typically just grabbing materials. If it takes you two hours to get materials you can’t be doing that for free .
Hey thank you
The man!!
very well said. thank you for this.
Don’t listen to this guy.
What the biggest shed you feel comfortable building by yourself
A 12x12 with 8’ walls is the biggest I can do.
I’ve done 12x16 and 12x20 but it’s not comfortable 😅
@@ChrisSilverman I'm thinking about becoming a installer, I work in the shop. Do you think it's something you can make a living off of or is it supplemental income?
I make a decent living with it. I’m responsible for my own tools and truck and stuff but it’s a decent wage especially if I’m working 5 days a week.
Right there with you. I’ve installed out of Columbia SC for over a year now and definitely cap out at a 12x12 8’ walls and brother it’s hell and you know what I mean, those tr800 and premiers hit different by yourself. I’ll do really any size 600 those guys are so light. I pay a helper though, we just built 8 this week with one more tomorrow(Saturday) I gotta ask do you do it all by yourself no helper and If so what’s your work flow. I feel like we do really good work and tuff shed keeps us real busy but it’s all up to how much you really wanna work. With you by yourself I’m just curious if it’s every a day 2 a days etc or just certain builds. Thanks!
13,000 steps?? over 200 feet from materials is an extra 75$ ?? seems a little lite. Wonder who the sales person was on that.. Sales people are the worst type in the entire process? why? BC most are clueless about the "Actual" labor process.
SO??? the biggest investment is the trailer.. dam?? thats a hurdle to over come. to become an installer. Dam?? 😒
20nyears as a carpenter.. thats includes starting out as a green horn... i went up through the ranks the old fashioned way.. OTJ training. i was subing from a sub after 2 years. sheeting roofs. Realizing how much more a man can make by doing piece work.. NOW- at an old age man.. i hate employees and ll the admin BS.. this video simplifies the income opportunity. in conclusion> this is part of my research on how to/ where to head as a piece worker. this seems like some respectable income. working by the hour is STILL SLAVE LABOR. ALTHOUGH--- i hope that Tuff Shed doesn't allow for saturation. ( as far as too many contractors) otherwise the only real winner ends up being Tuff shed.. and the carpenters end up fighting over scraps and the prices fall.. basic econ 101
Is it possible to move that shed after it is built on site? Galv tin foundation looks a bit thin.
Yeah 100% possible. It will bend if it’s jacked in a bad location. Have to lift it on the corners or where the joists meet together. A forklift can easily lift these
Great expectations ! I’m not a carpenter and my Outter windowsill broke off which then allows all the water to drip down behind the vinyl siding because they had it tucked up under the windowsill but we use teen challenge carpenters which I would not recommend the shotty work yes in expensive and I was cool with them but still shotty work something just wasn’t right Why it Rooted out !
The top shelf has two brackets missing, if you didn't have enough why not space them better?
Two missing up top; I could have made it where 1 was missing on top and 1 on the bottom I suppose.
Where could I get the plans to make the brackets?
How did you become a contractor for the tuff shed? I've tried every way to contact them, calls, texts, voicemails, emails, they never answer.
Great video Chris keep up the good work!!
Nice video! Where can I buy the Tuff Shed metal roofing?
Why would you need the farmers jack to lift the shed corner?
I use it to lift the shed to either move the shed to another location or to re-level the blocks under the shed. I also use it to jack my trailer when I get flat tires.
Hi I am planning to start building in jersey, they already emailed me but I have a cargo van sprinter high roof 9feet long inside and 6feet tall Do you think those sheds fit in there ?because I am not planning to get a trailer
No, the sheds wouldn’t fit inside. They would need more space
How much you make to install 1 shed?
Typically a low price is $250 and a higher price is $1200 but I average about $400 per shed and make anywhere from 1800 - 3300 weekly depending on the season
How long does it take to build a 8x10 shed
