    Coupla'a newbie questions. Is it normal for the top and bottom rails on the stairs to not line up with the rails on the flat surface? Also, I'm guessing that all the balusters are the same length top to bottom? I've had them be off for some reason, guess due to angle on the rails? Thanks.

    I don't know why the don't make the recievers more coned, Its can be a real pain in the ass getting those things in, I did some earlier this summer,

    The angle on those connectors are way off for my stairs, I'll be trying to find different ones tomorrow.

    I found those aluminum balusters to be very tedious to install.

  • @Themotivatortheinspire

    Where can I get these balusters?

      I got them from Home Depot. homedepot.sjv.io/c/2076208/459920/8154?prodsku=202033339&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2FDeckoRail-3-4-in-x-26-in-Black-Aluminum-Round-Baluster-15-Pack-70570%2F202033339&intsrc=PUI2_2950

    Seriously how come the baluster directions say stair rail tubes should be 5 1/2" on center?

    • @ChrisSilverman
      @ChrisSilverman  Před 17 dny

      Code requirements are typically 4” and so using 3 1/2” is easily meets code and allows someone to use a 2x4 to space them

      @@ChrisSilverman Thank you for your reply. The confusing part is that I am using "Precision" brand balusters which includes the connectors for both straight and angles stair rails. On the box everything comes in, it says to put the flat rails at 4 1/2" and the on the same box says, place stair rail connectors 5 1/2". Hence my confusion. As a rank novice who is not talented in this area AT ALL (So there's that) I have managed to replace the entire deck rails and they turned out really well. But I am having fits with the one short 7-step stair up to our doorway. Is the key here to get the bottom post mounted and then work from there? (All the other posts were pre-existing. I have to replace this one though.

       A good way to install the stair rails might be to preassemble the rail system on the ground by installing the angled clips on the 2x4 then attach the rails using clear silicone to help them adhere. Then attach the top rail 2x4 to the rails and then attach the rail system to the 4x4 posts. I hate them just did a twelve foot stair rail with the round ones 😒 😤 I would never use them on my house and will never accept a job using them again damn value engineering with those plastic things they should be some type of metal. And the top should be a track that you inset in your 2x4 and have lockouts you tighten with a Allen wrench. HATED IT🤌🤌😁
