I make trail running videos. Mostly of me running around the English Lake District where I live but elsewhere too..
I'm an A&E nurse. It's a recent career change. One of a few I've had over the years and having graduated a few years ago from nursing college I decided I wanted to move to the Lake District. So here I am.
I've been coming to the Lake District for years but these last few years I've really got to know the place and the seed to start YouTubing was planted by a friend. So I decided to add another dynamic to my trail running and bought a DJI action camera.
Additionally, my brain appreciates the attention and dopamine hit it gets from all the subscriptions and views so I thank you if you're one of those. Quite frankly I'm amazed you've read this far.
I hope you enjoy these videos. I enjoy making them.

LAKE DISTRICT FELL RACING | THE ENNERDALE HORSESHOE FELL RACE 2024
The 2024 Ennerdale Horseshoe fell race which took place last Saturday 8th June.
At 23 miles / 7513 feet it's a beast. The second fell race in the Lakeland Classics Trophy series. The next is Buttermere on 22nd June.
I managed to finish this year in 6:45 hrs, a vast improvement on last year's 7:52 hrs. However, this year I wasn't crippled with cramp for the last 8 miles which helped.

A single 'f' in Welsh is pronounced as a 'v' and the 'y' isnt pronounced as 'ee' its pronounced as 'uh'. The 'big' isn't pronounced the same in Welsh, its pronounced 'beeg' because the 'i' is an 'ee' sound. So its actually pronounced phonetically as 'Pen uh Van' and 'Van uh Beeg'.

Fell runners doing squats is the mother of all knee problems, esp. ITBS. I heard you say you had knee issues in your videos for as long as I remember. I also saw you do squats in the previous gym video. Mate, just try removing squats from your gym workouts. Try more stretching and resistance band conditioning every other day instead, esp. 1-2 hours before a longie, and dynamic stretching/warmup just before you start running. Thank me later✌️
First time I’ve seen that mace exercise. That’s out there, very primal looking. Duddon Valley was indeed a beauty of a day. I only done the short, wasn’t far of DFL myself, but i was losing my fell race V. Proceeded to piss down for pretty much all subsequent days so it was the best part of my trip 😂 Any advice for strength exercises that might give me hill legs? I was useless going up compared to everyone else.
Yup the mace gets your inner Viking fired up 😉 squats mate. Lots and lots of squats in which ever variation you like. I’d start with Bulgarian split squats and maybe a barbell back squat. Focus on form first, get the movement right and address any mobility issues then start adding weight and increasing reps. Additionally, get out on the hills more. However, that’s easier said than done ☺️

I know you might be apprehensive about annoying other people when you film but I am sure they will be glad to look back at it and have the memories of the event on video. That scree decent was crazy. It was cool to get it on camera. Jura has a special place in my heart. I went there before my "filming days" so most of it was in my head. It was amazing to look back it this place on the video.
