Sand from the Sahara is falling down on Kalamata and on our boat. The world is orange. We start our new season and we're heading for the Ionian Sea. Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Lefkada, Paxos and Corfu will be visited, I hope. :)

We are finishing the last jobs on board and the weather is so nice (March 2024) that we went to Kalamata beach and swam in the sea. March 16th was carnival time here in Greece. We went to the Night Parade in the city. On Clean Monday, almost everyone flew their kite. There were many kites in the sky

Indrukwekkend, zowel de wandeling, als het kasteel. Wat een uitzicht. Mooi rijtje standbeelden, verder is het een stad net als elke Griekse stad, lijkt mij. Terugtocht leek me prima voor een motorritje😊
Ik roep het al een poosje..... we gaan hier nog wel een x een motor huren. Zitten hier en daar nog wel eens een kuil, maar dat mag de pret niet drukken.😎😎

Zo stoer hoor zwemmen in koude zee. Brrrrrrrrr! Mooie steentjes trouwens op het strand, en goed gefilmd met de drone! Zitplekken op de zeilboot weer helemaal mooi. 😮 en ook leuk om carnaval in Griekenland te zien. Heb opgezocht wat voor betekenis zij hiervoor hebben. Gevonden, en weer wat wijzer geworden geworden.

Hallo luitjes, hier weer een berichtje uit het noorden. De winter is voorbij en de planning voor de brommert zijn weer, in grote lijnen, uitgezet. Het zal jullie niet verbazen dat het weer richting het zuiden gaat, Frankrijk en Spanje dus. Wens jullie weer een behouden vaart en veel avontuur op de reis langs de Griekse kust.
We gaan je weer volgen. GoPro aan en ik kan weer meerijden 😂
Reparatie en onderhoud onder een mooi zonnetje. Fijn dat het weer werkt Wat een geweldig mooi cadeau. Opnieuw breewen, rot karwei Maar als het klaar is, ziet het er weer als nieuw uit. 10:35 karwei.
Deze winter echt super weer gehad. Totaal niet koud, weinig storm en weinig regen. Ideaal voor mij. Ik kan slecht werken als t waait. Ga je zien ....🇬🇷😎👍☀️

Lekker weer zo eind februari. En lekker bezig geweest met onderhoud en herstel. Lang leven de E10😡 Mooie beelden weer.
Het is een warme winter tot nu toe. E10 troep. Hadden wij nog E5 gebruikt. Pfffff. Nu zit er 100% in. Hier gewoon aan de pomp te koop. De klusjes schieten op. We hebben hier een maand korter. 1 april is ons contract hier afgelopen. Ik hoop niet te fris brrr. We zien wel.
@@sailing-etanche het schijnt dat shell en bp GEEN ethanol toevoegen in hun E5. Maar dat E5 nu eenmaal de laagste klasse is. Nou ja, blij dat je hebt kunnen oplossen.

Yes. We had ordered also a element and the o-Ring but after seeing all the rust, we have to let it go and give it a final resting place. RIP. water heater 🫡. Cu Guys
We never had a chance to go up to the castle. Doing the same job soon. Our boiler/calorifier only keeps the water hot for half the time it used to. When we take the engine out to do the sail drive we are going to take the opportunity to flush the boiler and remove the element to clean it out. We have ordered a new heater element just in case, as the old ones often fail when you take them out. Or end up leaking. Sail Safe Guys, Ant & Cid.

Regarding to water, we use a water maker. I dont know what you mean with F-oil. We don't use that. I think that water is in almost every city/ village or marina.

Understand that you have water maker on board and we would like to know model /type where did you place the pump and more details related to boat's power plan. I have on board 2 service no lithium batteries 140 AH each and i do not know if will be able to provide enough power. Also please try to tell us more info regarding port facilities for example if there is avalability for bunkering( fuel oil) - provision supplies - garbage delivery etc. and the daily marina cost if any . we have almost similar boat and any info from your side will be high appreciated . Thanks again, your moments life on board is on our daily discussion with my wife.... Wishes for a safe seas and enjoy your life
@@periklisd6772 . Our watermaker is a Rainman on gasoline. It's a portable one, so not build in. We have two 180Ah (AGM) batteries. Inverter with a peak of 5000w. Our solar penals our 2x 110w on the Bimini and on the side 2x 170w.Is it enough??? Never. The more power you create, the more you use. If have seen floating Powerplants :) We don't have AC but Vents (12v) are a must. We don't often go to marina's, especialy in high season. On a city quay it's not expensive, in a marine it can be. We paid on Samos 40,- Euro a night also on Rhodes. Port facilities: Check " Med sailing" on FB for a lot of info. You will need Navily app. A lot of info about anchoring places and marina's (It's free for use) Fuel: We take fuel every time we are in a spot where's a station (on the road) nearby). We have two Jerrycans 2x 20Ltr. So we keep our tank full and put some additives to it agains bacteria. On every island there's a supermarket or minimarket. The big ones are in the big cities. About wintering. You will need a place for wintering (not if you continue sailing of course). Here in Kalamata, we pay 1800,- for 5 months + some electicity. Garbage: Almost in every town, there are containers, so no problem. Fair winds to you!

Love it. Never did get there. Your water heater did well. When we took our boat out to Greece our water heater was almost twenty years old and we had to replace it within 18 months of arriving. However, the replacement only lasted three seasons before it too had to be replaced. A local surveyor, (a Brit. based in Lefkas Marina who we knew well.) told us this was par for the course as they furred up very quickly there due to the hardness/softness of the local water.
Correct Brian. The water can be terrible in the Med. We changed the O-ring when it was only 2 years old. So, a little bit of luck you have to have. That in mind...not bad after 13 years. Kalamata is a nice city, the marina is so so. Now , there's a new owner. I hope it will be better here. Cu🫡
