AHSOKA - Part 8 The Jedi, the Witch and the Warlord | Star Wars Rebels Disney Plus Review Recap
We know for sure that the Dark force user... I mean THREAD user.. is not a male.
Think it will be interesting if we find out the witch coven really is evil
Its prolly harvey weinstein!
My money is on Trinity/Indara. Remember how we were all outraged that she was killed in the pre-title by a mere butter knife? Well . . . it was a fake! Why? well, it's been done before, many times. And.... Carrie Anne Moss. You don't hire that kind of actor and kill them off in the first 5 minutes (ok, Samuel L Jackson in Deep Blue Sea notwithstanding). Tim Robbins in Silo --- villain. So, the only really well know actress... of course she's the villain!
Lots of smart thoughts, time to go to Vegas :)
There's actually precedent on Jedi faking their death for a covert op. Kenobi faked his death to impersonate a bounty hunter for a bigger operation during the Clone Wars. Albeit they used technology to change his facial structure and voice. Tech that will never be used again in the Star Wars universe.
🤮
I’m praying the master is jar jar binks
Mesa too :)
Kathleen Kennedy is the sith. Or Rian Johnson.
it's aight
And how the fuck were they supposed to have a child who'd maybe be 5-6 act that out?
Is your doubt about a child actor's ability to play the terror? Or is your doubt about traumatizing a young actor? Either way, I think it would be possible
Glad you guys are giving our boy Bazil so much love. Hopefully next weeks episode we get zero double H's. Hamsters Harmed. Check your washers and driers for little critters before running a load of laundry folks! 😢

Qamir is the masked acolyte. But the big bad sith is one of the two witch moms.
That's a smart thought! Do you have an idea: Which witch?
@@DoublePMedia probably mother Aniseya.
Good call. I think we see Mother Aniseya's body on the ground in ep 3 but doesnt mean she's actually dead.
Harvey weinstein
No way that thsi will be a male character
Hope that Alicent , Sir Licks-a-Lot and Lord Stumpfoot meet a swift demise.
LOL - Hell Yeah!
Who do you think is The Master?
Jar Jar
Harvey weinsteins personal assistant!
No matter which Star Wars show is on, I am always scared of their bad wigs!
Cregan Stark Memorial Wigs used during the flashbacks
I've become one with the Force
almost FIRST
What could Sol have done back at the coven village? That we'll still forgive him as an audience?
Sol could've demanded to take BOTH kids / then the witches revolted
Sol was busy hasing the kids... he had nothing to do with it.
@@UncleGhoulieTv313 Hope you're correct!
I'm so happy my favorite podcasters are back🙂 You've been missed. Thanks for being one of the few podcasts that isn't bashing the show for silly reasons. I rate the episode 7.5 quadruple Fs...Fiery fevered flashback frenzy. And the podcast is 10 triple Cs...carefully curated comedy
Thanks, happy to be back! We should record our Acolyte episode 4 pod today!
HOTD just plays these moments differently to GOT & to me personally, that feels more like the bleakness of the world of Asoiaf than the spectacle of GoT ever was. Less about shock, more about creeping unease. Part of watching GoT was about watching other people reacting in horror, surprise, etc. With HOTD I don't feel the pull to watch people shouting at the screen because it would only feel forced to me. It's not how HOTD moves. HOTD had so many moments in S1 where it could have gone for a sharp stab a la GoT but instead made sure to play things out slowly. It's less interested in specific displays of brutality & more interested in the impact on the bigger picture. GoT (& Breaking Bad) was a show geared towards dramatic Moments. House of the Dragon (& Better Call Saul) is more about everything around those moments & plays them out in a way that feels slower, less brutal & more bleak & dread. GoT had so many moments where it stabbed you, even if you saw the knife coming beforehand. HOTD is more interested in digging its nails into your skin & slowly pulling a wound open. The freefolk brain crying about helaena not screaming and throwing up has no understanding of the poignant beauty of that scene. Watching people not being able to process anything but cerseification of female antagonists & screaming about evil stepmom for 2 years, I've been saying the show is wasted on a worthless fandom too dumb to appreciate a sophoclean tragedy.
Really good thought on GoT/BB vs HotD/BCS. Just honestly, I didn't get that feeling of "nails into your skin" - Wish that I had.
All these "bring back D&D" posts just makes me know that a lot of so-called purists didn't hate GoT's cheap, gawdy, shock value spectacle writing, what they hated was their self-insert (whether Dany, Jon or Stannis) not sitting the throne. I LOVED the restraint on B&C. This episode was peak bleak, dread soaked gothic horror. A diff kind of creeping horror, the haunting soundtrack with the cutting & sawing noises creates a terrible beauty! The "emotional impact" the MCU brain wanted was heavy-handed head chopping gratuitous violence. But nsettling silenct horror will always be more disturbing than gory theatrics. The book's B&C is an overly sadistic creative writing exercise of cartoon villains (makes sense considering it's made by fictional 'historians'). The extended psychological torment of Helaena strains credibility as B&C had no personal vendetta against her & were risking their own skin lingering around the Red Keep playing games during a war. The TV version exchanges gore for dread, presents it as a straightforward hit, with the grim realism underscoring the obv urgency & perilous stakes B&C was in. This was almost scarier, it shows “history” would make it seem like every act in the Dance is a Machiavellian countenance that furthers propaganda againt the oppostion. When in reality it’s some plebs willing to do anything for Dameon’s scraps. Which is spine chilling in a separate way & showcases the banality of evil. It's almost more sickening & unsettling even if understandably less gory. They're continuing the theme of deconstructing how history is shaped & distorted by the biases of the Maesters over time. helaena’s freeze response was on point for her character, instead of screams and thrashes the utter pain and horror in her eyes alone made the whole performance.
Haven't seen many 'Bring back D&D' posts. Do you see them on Twitter? Reddit?
I was a little disappointed
#Same - yet we've got 7 more episodes to ramp up the drama
You guys are great! Plus that Joffrey song is a banger 🤣
Thank you, your Grace. Please subscribe and help us thru this Targaryen Civil War :)
There was no way the production team was going to traumatize those child actors to give us a accurate Blood and Cheese scene.
Understand that point, however I don't think they'd have to SHOW anything more graphic/gore. imo what I didn't connect with the panic, dread, fear, ticking clock of death, etc. PG-rated Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window gave me more 'oh no' chills than this scene. Hope others liked it. Want to hear everyone's thoughts!
Making the scene book accurate would involve making a couple of toddlers scream and cry, for multiple takes. There are coordinators now on set to make sure actors don't go through anything mentally and or physically traumatizing for the sake of the production.
@@DoublePMedia Agree! I felt the whole lead up to it and the final scene itself was pretty clumsy and clunky
I’m a little weirded out hearing how much more/less brutal the violence & torture of CHILDREN should be with this scene. I think it was brutal enough the way they portrayed it.
Don't think we mentioned more/less violence and torture, but I know others did. Bubba here, I believe I mentioned characters panicking, stress and such. With Helaena's "shutting down" reaction, perhaps that why I didn't get swept up into drama.
Then you clearly do not understand Helaena's character @@DoublePMedia
We understand it, but we don't think the show has built the audience's connection with that character. Do you?
Phia did that reaction EXACTLY the way the I think the character Helaena would react (sans the blood curdling scream - but I'm ok with that). I totally connected with it as true to the character Helaena that has been established on the show.
I think she gave what they wanted, and while I don't blame that specific choice as the sole reason, I didn't connect with the scene/episode
What did you think of the premiere of House of the Dragon s2?
Team Smallfolk getting their sheep back!
Blood and Cheese was better on the show - less blood, more cheese
no, less drama than the book. Why didn't they keep it the same?
second!
Best second comment ever
first!
Who should be on Mae's list? Season 2 of the Acolyte! The best thing about this show is that it brings back the Power of two of Double P (or the Power of ...many with Matt).
LOL - These hosts prove that the power of 2 isn't that powerful :)
Do they need kyber crystals to power their dildos?
The power of 1, the power of 2, the power of the pussycat
When Mae locked Osha in her room, I thought, "The writers are genius! This is where they reveal Mae stole Osha's identity, and we've had the twins' identities swapped this whole time. This highlights how the 'bad twin' can become good and the good twin can turn to the dark side, and we all are who we choose to be-" but then they didn't do any of that 😄 Fleeting thought that probably doesn't even make sense in-story, but would've made for instant replay value to rewatch the first two episodes knowing Osha was Mae and vice versa.
not sure if you used the #LightSide or #DarkSide to come up with a twist so smart 😄
New haircut? Out of the country? EXCUSES!!!
Too short (haircut) Out of the country (evil)!
Team Osha i guess? I struggled with the depiction of the kids in ep 3. They were too bratty and annoying to care much about 😬. I guess when you grow up as the only 2 children on your planet what do you expect 🤷🏻
Growing up without any other kids... #NotGood
Thoughts on THE ACOLYTE? Comment below
The trailer shows Kalnacca attacking Torbin - Either the witches are controlling Kalnacca OR Torbin is evil
team jecki
TEAM OSHA
Jecki is pretty awesome. One of the better actors too.
A good team
Love Sol - hope he's the truly guilty one!
I got into this series because of this channel. Love the content. I hope you get the proper views this deserves
Thanks. I hope you solve it! The sequel is out in the U.S. on Sept 15!
@@DoublePMedia I don't want to reveal if I was right it wrong since this is ep3 discussion, but my working theory was the character of Atticus was based on Andreas beginning in book 1. Andreas learned through the setting of magpie when talking with Susan that information on blackmail or something along that lines between Andreas and Alan would be revealed. I'm now watching season 1 of afterparty just so I can experience your s2 discussion.
Any flashback must be sprinkled in season 2 as a discovery by Juliette or another character thru another hard drive, film projector, or a journal because if they do just a flashback story, it will kill the shows momentum and all the character development they made in season 1. However, if they do go this route, then they must be careful not to overextend or deviate from the books main storyline so it doesn’t have a negative impact.
I don't like or watch Disney anymore but this series is really goooood!! Best of Disney
Book vs show comparison video much longer and boring than the series vs the book hahaha
Is this satire?
I had the unique opportunity to fully watch the show not having read the books. Then after the finale I went and blasted through Wool/Shift/Dust. First couple episodes of the show were great, but then it got worse and worse, I felt so justified that all the parts I hated were made up by the showrunners. All that being said... if you enjoyed the show fully you probably also enjoy watching paint dry.
I finished season 1 finale, thought to myself that the story was so interesting I had to read the books. Finished Wool/Shift/Dust and now reflecting back on the show it was a pretty bad adaptation, even while watching it as a non-reader I was like "what the heck is all this random drama" and felt vindicated when reading the books to find out it was Hollywood bloat. I really hope they correct the storytelling in season 2, I cannot stand a repeat of the pacing in season 1.
100% - With season 2, the show can fly, or keep chugging :)
