Couldn't agree more !!!! I shoot 40mm (equiv) on Fuji... And I shoot 45mm (actual) on Panasonic.. When I get my first Sony, the 40mm will definitely be my first lens !

I use manual focus lenses so i dont have the AF issue lol Seems like a skill issue for alot

Great video. FX30 questions: Q1: Have you used a non xlr mic? Q2: If you have, did you have any issues with noise? Q3: What is your camera mic input level? Background - I am using a Rode VideoMic NTG. Just got a FX30 and I am having to increase the mic's gain to the 14 (almost max) and keeping the camera's input level to 2. The is the best combination so far, but still noticeable noise. I had used the Rode on an old Sony camera and had no noise issues.

Question: thank for mention the Tether app. I install it on Mac and connect the Fuji X100V but I might be missing something can't fin the way to make it connect to the app. One setting I had to change was to turn off the 'POWER MANAGEMENT OFF". I think I might need plugin? thanks you

The fact that we’re even comparing it to full frame cameras tells you how good it is. The real apples to apples comparison would be against something like the R7. Both APS-C both higher resolution than most, both have dual card slots etc etc.

the fact: I had Sony a7 iii and also a Sony a7 iv. I sold my Sony a7iii to buy a Canon r6 ii + 28-70mm. After using this camera for 1 month, I can say that I totally regretted. and I will back to the store to sold my canon and buy another Sony a7 iv. The autofocus on Sony is MUCH MORE FASTER.

They smell the same

1) A FF sensor isn't 1.5x larger but 2.25x (1.5 x 1.5). 2) "Twice the resolution of the A6700" would mean having a 104 MP sensor (no matter what size it is). 3) Highlight recovery capability is NOT dependent on sensor size. Indirectly at beast because you have more exposure latitude, hence more leeway to deliberately underexpose for highlight protection. *sigh*

Sounds like this camera requires too much editing to get the photos you want. Nikon is amazing just shoot and you're done

Regarding the unsharp portrait images. You believe it could be the sensor or the autofocus. My impression of the third image is that it is back focused as you can see sharp hairs at a greater distance than the eyes/face. If this is the case for all lenses it suggests the plane of the sensor or the autofocus may be the issue rather than the sensor itself...🤔

Generally speaking ... Fuji always gets 99% of everything right, which is one of the many reasons why Fuji is currently outselling all other brands in the formats which they manufacture - Above all ... Fuji has VERY pleasing color rendition if you happen to be a portrait photographer.

XT5's autofocus is an archaic implementation of phase and contrast detect. Sony/Nikon/Canon employs predictive AI technology based on what image is on the screen, so Fuji is really behind the times.

From my findings the 425 AF points are actually used only in the "Area" mode , that's the small box. All the rest of the af modes both video and stills are using 117 af points. Anyway camera is advertised as having Phase detect but from the behaviour we can make the conclusion that is mostly using contrast af 90%

Software appears to be awesome. I am very confused on the pricing of this Software. I am age 84, and this is the first credit type pricing I have seeb. How do I know I am not going to run up excessive fees when using this software. I prefer to pay a monthly fee aka Adobe or an outright price for a Software with some free updates of the software, and perhaps a charge for a major revision upgrade. As a results I am very hesitant to load this software on to my system. I really would love to have an editing software like this. Thanks for the video. I wish you had gone more in to dettails on pricing for example how much would the cost be for the edits you did in this Video? Again Thanks very much for imparting your knowledge.

Since I have the sigma trio with e-mount for my a6000 and also the 70-350mm sony lens for e-mount it's an easy choice for me. I'm trying to figure out if upgrading from a6000 to a6700 will actually improve my workflow as a hobbyist and it probably will. The a6000 doesnt have a suitable mic input, it only shoots 1080p, no stabilization, the autofocus is good, but it seems like tha a6700 autofocus is just insanely good and that it can track eyes on humans when doing portraits automatically, not I have always have to click a button on my a6700 and "look" for the eye on the subject which works fine, but not having to do that every single shot would be amazing.

Hi Gerard. I have owend the XT5 for 2 months then sold it. You put your finger on all the problems with this system that made me came back to my canon stuff. For the look and way of shoot, I'm thinking about to buy on OM system OM5.

With an APS-C you have the option to use all lenses, also the full frame lenses.

Using the Viltox 20/2.8 on the A7CR - can crop it easily to a 30/4 and everything in between.

Do you tend to overexpose your images with exposure compensation dial? I've been using your presets but for some images there is too much orange color and I have to overexpose to get better looking skin tones. The presets are great, but my images do not have the same look as yours and I thought that it's probably due to White Balance or Exposure. Thanks!

Hi Gerard. I've been travelling, and a couple of models were interested in a test shoot, but asked me to contact their agency since they were making all of the decisions regarding test shoots. Just wondering if from your experience if agencies from foreign countries are less likely to be interested in test shoots with someone travelling through? Maybe because they'd prefer to develop relationships with the local photographers. Or are you aware of photographers that have had luck in this way? Just wondering if it's worth trying with other agencies.

Does the native ISO of 800 and 2500 in Slog3 applies to photo also? How much ISO is usable in photo mode with Noise Reduction (NR) On and Off?

You can view raw photos in the photos app on Mac. I was like “wait my iPad can view RAW files but not a full on Mac?” So why isn’t the “preview” app just as capable as photos app? No idea Apple, no idea…

The new denoising function in Lightroom is a game changer. Now matter how „noisy“ your photo is, it gets rid of it like a charm. I use ISO 3200 in my X-T5 and X-Pro3 and the results are amazing!
