Was very informative. Would like to try your product reviews sound good. Yet a little costly to cross the pond. Eastern US. Thank you.
Bought some recently in the sale , keen to see how it goes this spring
What he's ultimately talking about is SAR Systemic Acquired Resistance , it's the enzyme Chitinase that breaks down the chitin which induces SAR in plants , Salicylic acid will also induce SAR in plants , Salicylic acid is found in kelp , using kelp meal as a top dress , in soil mixes or making your own seasol type liquid will do the same as the frass product in regards to SAR , you can also get the enzyme chitenase from malted barley along with a bunch of other enzymes , malted barley is cheap & if you really want to activate a soil mix , top dress it or add it as a soil mix amendment , pop into a brewers shop & look for Pilsner malted barley seed preferably grown organically if poss or ask which malted barley has the highest number of enzymes , it'll usually be the more lighter colored seed , as a side note malted barley is made by sprouting barley seed & very quickly stopping the germination process which traps these enzymes , once you get the malted seed home you use a coffee grinder or mortar and pestle to make the malted seed into a powder & add that to your soil , you can also just sprout fresh seed yourself & once the tap root is as long as the seed , blend them in a blender with a little water & add the blender contents to a larger amount of water & water your plants with it , it's a process called Seed Sprout Tea or SST for short , you can use all types of seed like corn which will provide your plants with a plant hormone called cytokinin or use lucerne/alfalfa seed for plant hormone triacontanol , you can look up what these hormones provide your plants when watered in , lots of ways to increase plant health for pennies 👍
Pseudoscience. Its a high N fertilizer though.
Will birds take the ex Skelton?
LOL Kara was getting fertilized also
What type of Sumac is that and where did you get it if you don’t mind?
I have them on my farm each year. I collect fallen tree leaves and compost them with those sceltons, When you prune berry's???
No Doggies today lol
They got banned for XXX content
@@jesst235 lolol in the dog house for a while lolol
Sumac is one of my all time favourite spices. I didn't realise it was a tree 😅
What about heavy clay? Dig small hole - turns into a bucket and drown plant? More digging a wider area and amend soil?
I use sumac
Your camera person is a legend. Those dogs. So funny.
Thanks for the video all the best where we can find this tree
Can you eat sumac straight off the tree, or do you need to dry and grind it
I am thinking even mint in the orchard would be better than couch grass. Burr medic seems to outcompete couch for half a year and is a legume, also thinking of encouraging it. Last year i encouraged white clover to spread, be interesting to see how much i have of it when it flowers this year. Maybe couch wouldnt be so bad if it isnt the only thing growing
That branch can be green above and shoot, but if its not green all the way down, it will dies
I have seen people ripping sumac out after a few years as they sucker like mad. Keep an eye on it!
Have you planted sumac in the ground before? I'm not sure if they are all the same but you may end up with a whole orchard of it if it's like what I have??? It comes up EVERYWHERE
Interesting. Does it outcompete that bloody couch grass
lmao the dogs
I thought sumac was a pest tree in Australia.
I think the pest tree is "poison sumac" (Toxicodendron v.) not the Sicilian sumac which is the one often used for spice.
@ausfoodgarden Thanks that cleared up my confusion 👍
Damn those Dogs always steal the show 😅😅😅
So hydroponic vertical towers are no good?
My Q is: Why does the ant destroy the flowers? Do they destoy the pestil becouse i have head that ants can do that. Alot of my tree dint have a pestil
😊😊

the problem always is & always has been , the moment somebody , anybody , discovers , what is considered " New " information they can't seem to not think " Money " , anytime any person is telling you they have the answer & you should " Buy My Product " because it's good for you , good for the soil , good for the environment , be very skeptical , it is very hard for any of these type of people to back track on what they preach , most of the time these people will double down on there gospel , always look for people who open source the info they have ( nothing to buy here only things to learn ) then always do your own due diligence & research to back up that open source information , it's a shame these days but very hard to trust once trusted information sources 🙏🙏🙏
Covid will wreck your gut biome without antibiotics. Thats what long covid is. Put the antibiotics on top, maybe a bit of drinking, and your screwed. Putting bacteria in is only a small part, like bacteria is there. You need to feed it, in your gut and soil. Fermented is good, more so cause its predigested. Gluten is broken to other amino acids when the bacteria break down the starch and lactic acid is produced, lactose gets broken down to lactase and lactic acid is produced, lactase in your gut biome can break down any lactose that makes it to your gut biome, the lactic acid from fermented milk can then break down gluten in your stomach, or something like that, etc. So if you don't want to eat sourdough bread eat some good quality Greek yoghurt with your bread, but who would do that, lol. You also need to chew your food properly and get peptides into your food before it enters the stomach. Dont overeat or drink fluids when eating, cause you dont want to dilute stomach acid.
I'd love to know if Craig or Vasili have a podcast or if there's any good Aussie garden podcasts. These videos are great, just hoping to get a variety of sources. Thanks.
Potatoes aren't that same either. Not sure why
finally, the real word is being put out there. Thank you gentlemen. Bravo.
Very informative. Trouble is you can't grow most vegetables all year round in Victoria without hothouse. So you must rely on someone else. I'm all for what was discussed in this post. Thanks Vasily
Plenty will grow in winter. More variety and seasonal is best. There are things growing in your garden at the moment, that you can eat, but nobody will eat it. Then there are things very few will be growing. If your soil is healthy, do things a bit different, you can extend crops too. You can be eating things like Jerusalem artichoke now, it's a bloody weed, but who does that
Brilliant. First thing I did twenty five years ago when I bought my place was spread several tons of horse manure everywhere. Ever since I've been building it up and growing vegetables and fruit trees, so at 80 I am in perfect health. Everything you say is correct and as a result you will inspire people and save lives. Well done.
Are you vaccinated?
One of the most interesting and informative videos I have watched for a long time full of information, thank you
I've noticed with carrots after a couple of days they start going black. I've tried in the fridge and out in a dark cupboard
Spot on Vasili and Craig.even my wife who has just gone through hell, well still is with an unknown auto immune is starting to realise all of this.
Excellent, very informative. Thanks, Guys.👌
Excellent discussion, 100% in agreement 😄.
Thanks Craig and Vasili, that was so interesting.
When you two guys get together you can see the passion and how you guys are trying to spread the word it’s fantastic . I left the northern suburbs 5 years ago and brought a farm and started of with no knowledge of gardening now five years later two big gardens 30 fruit trees and the difference in the food I grow from the supermarkets is insane the taste is amazing. I have big worm farms running on irrigation that catch worm wee which is the only thing I feed my gardens and the worm farms are feed pumpkins grown on my farm and the manure from my cows feed the worms. All my soil is made from my own compost using my hay from my chicken coop the manure from my animals and the waste from my gardens. It’s an amazing cycle I keep growing and learning every year your channel has help me a lot in learning and gaining knowledge and really appreciate it. 😀🥬🌶️
Beautiful information.
so what are we suppose to do about the weeds??
Absolutely 100%
You should talk to a real Soil Scientist Vasili not your mate
I learnt about this a few years back from Ariel @simplylivingAlaska.
Love that show
Someones been reading "Soil is not a dirty word" by Craig Castree
