I found that other videos weren’t very helpful and most didn’t even show the actuator coming out.

Getting some trap shooting done at the Martinez Gun Club , with a Browning Citori 725 that belongs to a friend of my mothers. Such a beautiful piece of sporting equipment that made me interested in over and under style shotguns after seeing how accurate it was with its 28 inch barrel , a full choke and green fiber optic front sight.

@@Anthon702 you’re welcome !
Will this work with a regular s&w mp shield 9?
@@ShaunHall-lv5wh not sure what you mean by regular but it will work with any m&p shield in 9mm
Thats all i wanted to know. Thanks bro. Finna see if i can get that optic slide for my mp
@@ShaunHall-lv5wh your welcome! Enjoy it ! You’ll love it
Thanks for all the info I ended up getting the eps carry for the shield and the screws provided luckily actually fit but I did buy the screws you suggested ahead of time so at least I have spares 😂
@@mrlopez4623 your welcome ! Thank you for watching! I’m glad holosun finally corrected the issue, it suck’s I’ll probably get less views since people won’t be looking up how to make it work anymore lol but I’m glad they finally include them so people don’t have to stress anymore !
Thank you for making this video, I almost sent my slide out to have it milled for my optic. I would much rather have a factory slide with the factory finish.
Your welcome ! I feel the same way , I really don’t like the way cerakote wears and nitriding usually takes a lot longer to get back
Why do you take the door handle out? Is it connected to the actuator? the Airbag is extremely hard to get it out you can relieve the Actuator cable by just removing two top rebaits..
Yes the actuator is connected to the door handle, and if you have drill bits designed to be used on metal Its extremely simple to drill out the rivets , maybe 10 seconds each rivet , and with a rivet gun it takes maybe 3 seconds each to rivet it back on. I removed it to get the whole actuator out not just the cables
GOAT! thank you for all the info. Looks like smith and w updated the footprint to k pattern.
Your welcome !
Where can I get the slide. I can’t find it online?
They usually have them at turners if you have a turners near you or here’s a link to one www.opticsplanet.com/smith-wesson-3015613-slide-assembly-shield-fits-s-w-shield-shield-plus-optic-r.html
legit 💪thank you
Isn't ilegal to remove the chamber indicator on CCW? Is that co-witness?
As far as I know, no it is not illegal. And yes it is about a lower 1/5 cowitness you can still use the irons through the optic
Thanks for the advice and research brother. It really helped.
Glad it helped
Shield or g26?
Shield
Doing a follow up on your video. Any issues on the screws? Video is very informative
No issues so far ! Only about 1100 rounds in at this time but so far so good, marked them and they haven’t backed out at all !
Thanks for the helpful information, the screw size fit perfectly.
Thanks for the information. Very thorough video! Very helpful.
Glad I could help! Thank you!
Did you have anymore malfunctions? Looks like it co-witnessed like it should without the adapter plate raising it up.
Good option, can’t you also just use the dovetail branded adapter everyone says it holds zero perfectly
I have the same slide with the 507k. The 507k does not sit completely flat. When I put it up to the light I can see a small gap between the slide and the 507k. I tried 3 different 507k’s and it’s the same thing. I’m assuming my slide was not milled flat. Just wondering if you noticed the same thing on yours?
Your slides optic cut must be out of spec, mine is completely flat to the slide. There’s a little bit of gap in the rear but the dot sits flat to the slide with no gap
@@elianbatista337 yeah I figured it was probably out of spec. I’ve ran it quite a bit and it holds zero. It’s not causing any issues other than bothering my OCD. It really is a good combo. I guess I’ll just have to deal with it. Thanks for the quick response.
You the MVP for this video! Appreciate the info bro! Been looking for a solid optic set up for Gen 1 CA comp. Shield and this was the answer to all the questions/concerns I had before purchasing.
Glad I could help !
It's really cool slide, but if you use this slide in california, won't your handgun not be in compliance since it doesn't have a chamber indicator anymore?
My understanding is that they need those features to sold in the state, but you can do your own gunsmithing and modify your own weapons. Sort of like how you can have an off roster handgun that doesn’t have any of those features
Its so confusing! I have the Shield Plus Optics ready, this version requires a plate for Holosun. However, the shield optics ready, not the PLUS doesn't need a plate and direct mount. In fact, its a different pattern! I called SMITH Wesson today she said yes i need plate for my PLUS! kinda of sucks!
Yeah it’s so confusing! I’m just lucky mine is direct mount and I figured out the situation with the screws, good luck with yours !
Will the HS407K X2 also fit ???
Sorry for the late response, but yes ! It will fit
Boss u just pmo, I thought I was going to have to go to a gunsmith or get a different edc all together
Glad I could help !
Great video
Thank you !
Way too much oil! That will attract dust and dirt. Could cause a problem when you need it most.
Thanks for the tip ! But I always clean my ccw weapon like every two weeks cause I only carry concealed like twice a week on my days off and I clean my duty weapon once a week since I’m outside, well not clean but just wipe down and relube . But thanks for the tip!
Wow. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Waiting for delivery on my slide and have been trying to research what, if anything, else I need and this did the trick. Heading to Ace Hardward now. Cheers and thank you. I'm curious, wouldn't the flat screws lay lower, just to be more streamlined? I guess I will find out soon enough.
Yeah the flat ones would definitely sit flush , I but the rounded ones worked so I just used those lol and now that I look at them I kinda like the way they look compared to my flat ones on my other optics
what holster are you using with that setup ?
I use a civilian standards apex , there’s a review for it on my channel
You are correct. Not many videos on replacing this. I have watched this video several times.
This video is old but VERY HELPFUL I fell for that CT rds and it SUCKS. The brightness is horrible and probably only good for a nerf gun fr. Now to find the right screws🤞I’m going to try and mount the 407k.
Your welcome ! Glad to help
exactly what i was looking for. thank you for sharing!
@@_xmj your welcome thank you for watching!
Does this red dot co witness with your irons?
Sorry for the late response but yes ! It’s not an absolute, it’s probably like a Lower 1/5th
Thanks brother just ordered mine
@@JVASB1 your welcome! Thank you for watching!
Great video, what holster do you have for Shield?
I have a civilian standards apex ! I have a review of it on my channel with a link where to buy it !
I opted for the performance center 4.25 slide.
Nice ! I personally dont like the longer slide but it’s all personal preference!
What holster to you run with that light and the optic for the shield?
Check my other video out ! It’s a civilian standards apex ! If you watch the video it has a link to the website where you can buy one !
Please do not use the round head screws. Get the proper screws from Holosun. The button caps only hold the optic from the top, the original screws hold the optic from the top, but also down into it a ways. The button told are fine for a quickie fix, but just get the correct ones from Holosun.
Does the optic co witness with the iron sights? Or is it to high?
The optic co witnesses! Maybe not lower 1/3 it’s more like a lower 1/5 lol, but you can see your sights through the glass. BUT make sure you check the zero of your irons ! My irons on the new slide came low and right , I zeroed my optic and was impacting POA POI every single time , with the irons on the sight was low and right. About 8 inches at 25 yds
With the irons one the slide *
How's the reliability on it? Any misfeed issues?
I had one falure to extract that was shown at the end of the video , about 800 rounds through it without issues
@@elianbatista337pretty awesome.....
@@elianbatista337 just went and purchased one...will pick it up in 10 days....
Thank you for the video and appreciate you gave the part number and the screws needed! Great video sir.
Glad I could help out !
Thanks for the info. I just picked up the new slide and will be ordering the 507K. I couldn't help but notice while at the range that when you reload your slide, release engaged. I know there are plenty of videos of fixes, but I was wondering if you had to "modify" the slide lock. Thanks for the info.
No i didn’t have to modify anything !
Hello I was reading up on the slide since it’s a 2.0 slide some people said that the slide wouldn’t lock back because of the notch is different of the 1.0 and 2.0 looks like in the video your slide locked back
My slide locks back perfectly , while I lock it manually and when firing on the last round
Hey man question for you, is there any cowitness for your irons on this setup? I’m thinking about getting a milled slide and 507k to match but I would ideally like to have 1/3 cowitness with my irons. Does having the milled slide allowing the 507k to sit lower on the slide allow you to be able to cowitness your iron sights through the glass on the 507k?
I’ve never handled a slide that has been milled the only one I’ve seen is the factory smith and Wesson slide that I have , and the stock irons cowitness with this slide at about maybe a 1/5 , but I noticed my irons are not zeroed properly after zeroing my dot
Thanks for the screw size!
Welcome ! Glad I could help!
What make and model is the red dot your using? Does your holster setup accommodate the red dot setup? Please share the information. Thanks.
It’s a holosun 507k , and yes my holster fits everything perfectly! I have a video of it on my channel with a link if you wanna buy one !
So I got my 507K today and I went to the Hardware store with the slide and tried the screws, but for some reason they would not keep threading down. It would go a few turns with some resistance and then come to a full stop even when the holes go all the way through the slide. I even had one of the guys there with me for like 20mins going through several different sizes besides the 6-32 size just to see and nothing. What's funny is the Ace Hardware even had a Gun screw section which was pretty cool, but none that fit mine. I don't know what's up with it, but I called Holosun today and they right away said oh yeah its a special type of screw and they said we'll ship them out for you for free. He took my info just like that. This was a mission. Lol. Great video and informative still. Thanks.
Yeah no problem, sorry this didn’t work out for you :( it worked for me and a couple other viewers so I’m curious to find out why it wouldn’t work
@@elianbatista337 oh no worries brother, not blaming you or saying I don't believe you. Your video got the ball rolling for me so I appreciate your leg work for this. Cheers!!!
Which Ace hardware store in Stockton did you find the screws at? I went to Outdoors Sportsman in Stockton and got my Slide. They had three in stock which was surprising.
I hoy the screws at the ace hardware on Benjamin holt !
@@elianbatista337sweet, I'm heading there tomorrow to get mine. Thanks for the vid. Extremely informative and helpful. Cheers!
@@elianbatista337so I went to Ace and I found the 6-32 1/2 screws but they don't fit the slide. They seem too big. I'm wondering where you found the info regarding the thread pitch? Very interesting that they don't fit. I have the same Model slide as the one you have as well. I'm curious. Thanks.
@@EdsTechReview that’s the ones I got, it’s definitely a snug fit but it should work fine , If they were too big you would know for sure . Another viewer also commented and let me know that if you call smith and Wesson they will send you the correct screws for free so maybe try that if they don’t fit for you , but 6-32 1/2 worked perfectly for me and a couple other viewers
@@elianbatista337 ok, thank you.
Elian, Excellent and concise video. I got excited after watching it and digging on your setup, knowing that I wanted to go "Optics" on my Gen 1 Shield .40. Unfortunately I contacted S&W and they only make "optics ready slides" for the 9mm. I really don't want to go "aftermarket" because they want you to go with "suppressor height sights" I want to keep the "dovetail sights" and prefer the 1/3 lower co-witness!
Thank you ! And yeah only for 9mm , my brother has a .40 Shield and tbh it’s not very fun to shoot. I went with the 9mm it’s actually fun to shoot, I feel like the .40 smacked me in the palm too much to have fun shooting it. The 9mm set up with the red dot is a cheat code. Sooo much fun to shoot.
Thanks for your video. Like another commenter, I contacted Holoson who is also sending me the proper screws. Also, I just ordered a Tulster OATH IWB holster to accommodate my new addition. 👍
Did they send u the screw how long did it take for them to send em out ?
6-32 1/2. 6 is the diameter. 32 is the pitch or threads per inch and 1/2 is the length, 1/2 an inch.
Ahhh makes sense , thank you !
Any updates on reliability?
I only have another 200ish rounds with no issues , including a box of my carry ammo
Great information! Thanks for putting this out.
