When you fight cooperative, the person who is joining the fight must flip their turn marker and skip the next turn. Also, as mentioned below, you get to see the defenders and the way it works is that you choose randomly which monsters you fight, so the first person draws randomly 2 and the leftover goes to the participating player.

I have never heard of placing your characters on the city cards before. I fight adjacent to the city.

This was the version I had as well. I like the 1950’s style and the cool career choices like Uranium Prospecting and the Space Race (Moon). Thanks for sharing this video of a seemingly forgotten board game these days.

This is the best version of careers , it is the one we had in New Zealand. My wife and I play 200 200 200 , takes us an hour to play , there are so many strategies for this game , thats what makes it exciting.

I just found this game at Half Price books! It looks really cool and I think you could learn a good bit, even if a few things are outdated.

Found this at a thrift store this week. Getting ready to play it w/ my daughter, who took one look at the direction book and threw it aside. “This is too long to read.” Me: “There has to be a video somewhere on how to play this.” Daughter: “No way. This game is too old. No way is there a direction video on this.” Me: <finds this video and turns around the ipad…> CZcams has everything. Thanks for the overview. We already had another Nat Geo board game from the early ‘90s (blue box, photo cards and vinyl passport folders… Same kind of question cards) that we’ve enjoyed, so we figured this might be fun also. I think we’ll enjoy the other one more, but this sounds okay for what it is.

I don't understand why didn't you take other footages for the unfocused ones. It is better than adding some text saying that `you're not drunk` and it would take a great amount of time. Please take that into consideration next time.

15:52 not true: the manual clearly states that "Each grape icon on the crush pad can fit exactly 1 grape token. If the grape icon already has a token on it when you harvest a grape at that value, you must devalue the grape token to the next available lowest icon"

A little errata you can use same number to advance..😀

I've played this game from the 90's and so on, my father got it in the 80s and we still play it to this day. Hands down best board game I've played.

This wasn't the first video tutorial that popped up on the youtube search, and it bloody well should have been. The first one I found was done with zero intonation, and it was like listening to paint dry. I almost gave up on the game right there. Thank goodness I found your video.

2nd edition is best edition of Talisman, the 4th edition has this really bland modern fantasy art style

Thank you for this video. :). Talisman was my first real fantasy table top game. Played it as a 9 year old in 1986 when I visited my relatives in Santa Rosa CA. I loved playing the Troll and the Ghoul. The idea that I could play an evil character vs being the hero was a strange quirk my little imagination kept returning to. The artwork on the cover and on the character cards, board, adventure cards pushed me to learn to draw. What a great little gateway into the world of imagination and creativity for a 9 year old kid.

thanks for the video. Do you have any more info on which version has the offending cup? I bought mine in 2016 but I'm embarrassed to say it's still in shrink. I'm not sure if it is a version with a bad cup.
