I have a 23 year old Carrier 3 ton ac unit and the door panel fiberglass insulation is full of mildew and rust. I want to replace it myself, you please help me! it’s a 1” or 2” insulation? How could I send you a photo of my ac unt door panel so you can give your best advise?
It is great a video help out for a new technician.
How come mine says “Unassigned”? It’s already connected
Am getting error code 180 ?
My issue is that the outdoor fan doesn't run. There is no DC volts at the blue and yellow variable speed plugs.
How did you get black cover off the board box
Crummy infinity thermostat user interface and the app is worthless as well. Don't waste your money! Thousands of poor reviews can't be wrong
So was the unit malfunctioning or was this for preventative maintenance?
Thanks bruddah
I’m getting a 48 code. Help!!
It’s not a “compasitor”. lol it’s a CAPacitor.
carrier 38mgrq24c-301 ipm board controls when the compressor turns on?
Good question Not sure about that
🌺 "Promo SM"
I have the same noise but it's much worse right after the compressor shuts down. I believe refrigerant is backflowing past the check valve and into the condenser coil. I'm going to try a magnet to see if it makes any difference. Thanks for making this video.
Did it make a difference?? I have the same problem that you have I am going to change the reversing valve 😓
@@tinoluna7455 Yes the magnets eliminated the noise. Changing the reversing valve is a big job. I'd only replace it if it's known to be bad. My rattling noise is coming from the check valve that bypasses the outdoor TXV valve.
240?
You will also be able to test the run cap on the fan motor by just take 1 of the wires off in case you’re ever fighting one that’s connected real good
What was issue? Communication wire from furnace to outdoor unit?
Coming from a woman 👩 nice job! I am going to go out and check mine now! Appreciate the step by step, details and not talking too fast! Thanks 🙏 Eddie. Where are you located?
What spray is that?
What kind of tape is that UL? Thanks
Thank you so much
Yo I use to work with you Eddie learning from you now!
I had the same problem today, I solved it by connecting a ground cable to the common contactor and solved it.
How did u wire the transformer
I need to replace that insulation. Where can I get that that type or is there another recommended to replace with?
What a joke lol, I don’t like trane anymore
Thanks guy. I got a call yesterday. Found blown board. Homeowner said it makes the third one. I'm looking into this.....
Those compreeors like to shake and rattle hard when trying to start on a lockout which probably caused that.
very interesting video, i has simpler unit had high pressor lockout. my first time had infinity carrier system, do you have any common to share what i need to do? thanks.
Nice Job!
How does a heat pump get wired into that Infinity system? The AC all go into the damper control. Where does the extra wire for the heat pump go on that system?
Great video.. thanks! I’m a retired commercial electrician. (Not retired b/c of age.. 52 yrs old . But have severe AS - a type of spine arthritis that makes simply walking nearly impossible on “bad” days) Question - I have 2 Carrier AC air handlers in my attic that have door (& “floor” below the blower fan) insulation that’s falling apart. The foil facing has separated and much was damaged. What can I use to replace both areas of insulation? Is there anything NON-fiberglass? I saw some other CZcams video w/ a foil type of “bubble wrap” being used. Thanks !!
Been having the exact same problem on a Bryant evolution condenser 187 we are getting the proper DC voltage, but I’m getting the 179 fault code. After watching this I’ll run a new low-voltage wire thanks.
Where can I get one of those leak detector like yours? need to find a leak in my mini split system
Megohm meter only measures insulation resistant. you also don't need to check a compressor to ground unless it's tripping the breaker or shorted to ground.
Why not just replace the bad check valve? With the magnet it's not operating as designed...... my phone isn't working let's put a magnet on it..
so short cross?????
The electric switch next to stat is a problem
Nice review, thanks, I just ordered one :)
Mine has 3 wires on low side. A black, blue and dark blue, but new Contactor only has 2 spades. So I have 3 wires but only a place to connect two.
Have you ever used them for charging a system? I just wonder if you have to add a valve or something for charging?
Yes I used them to charge up a system. It has it’s own charging port on the back.
@@eddiehvac yes but how do you regulate how much gas you are using. Do you used a ball valve or something ?
Very informative.
Yes next time explain plz
Hello eddiehvac having the same issue with codes 82 and 85. Changed 1 CONTACTOR 30A 24V 1-1/2P and both capacitors on the outdoor unit. The 55 mfd run capacitor had a spp6 super boost on it if i remember correctly. No factory hard start on the system. Still throwing code85 low stage contactor open. Throws code about the same time of day. Around 3:30 to 4 pm EST. What do I need to do? I'm more of an install guy instead of a service guy. I'm just learning please help.
The old all analog two speed Lennox systems were complicated BUT, they didn't break often and if I ran into one and didn't have parts I could almost always force it on one of the speeds until I could come back... That makes you a HERO in mid August Houston,,, lol....
Good men...congratulations I have learned a lot with your videos thank you
Out of all the hvac brands. Which insulation fails the fastest?
I know this is an old video, but why would the compressor terminal blow when you applied power back to it? Ran into this issue today
Question. Changed the compressor and inverter. Wouldn't be easier to just change the whole unit out? what is the price difference? Or was it a warranty thing. Thanks Chris
