Lifting a canal boat from the water at Over Basin, Gloucester
Our workboat, Alder, is in need of some maintenance and had to come out of the water.
Although it was only moving a few metres within our own property it would have required a large, expensive crane to conduct the movement in one lift. The solution was to lift the boat onto a trailer, move it across the site, and lift it off again.
We contracted Russell Machinery Transport of Cheltenham to handle the move.

The Mountains of Malswick. What have we done, and WHY?

Fair point. Its not ideal timing. These trees were generously donated to us before we were really ready for them. To keep them alive they were temporarily planted along a fence line. Since then the fence has been removed, and they were now in danger of being damaged. Having moved them, we watered them each week during the hotter weather. We will see what happens in the spring. Fingers crossed.
