I think you’re right Johnny. Being a passenger and having no control over the vehicle at that speed on any race track must amplify the anxiety astronomically.

Yep, being a passenger will up the ante, but I'd love to see any top tier professional race driver in the co-pilot seat of jet sprint boat. 0-60mph 1.6 seconds and a tight track full of 90 degree turns and hairpins.

Buddy - watch "Closer to the edge" a documentary (Available on CZcams) about the Isle of Mann TT. Mad, insane, high speed motorcycle race on a 37.7 mile track. Someone dies pretty much every year - they race between stone walls and through villages. AWESOME.

Haven't played cricket for 40 years but to my recollection the batting partner can only get out if they are stumped in attempting to cross each other to get to the respective creases - or in very rare circumstances they manage to pass each other mid wicket whilst the ball is still in the air & caught. Could be wrong about that though.

My credentials! I started playing at 6 & I'm 66 now. I stopped playing at 28. I had enough injuries from footy as well as a motorbike crash at 17 & a fall off a balcony at 7. I still love footy & especially the Swans. Time is added into each quarter. Depending on injuries causing stops, throw-ins, goals & the bounce following, a quarter can & is often 30 minutes long. The game can be & again, is often 2 hours long. Some quarters are well into 30-plus minutes, like when Buddy Franklin kicked his 1000th goal or when the lights went out in Brisbane. There are many rules that are designed to eradicate cheating behaviour but unfortunately the decider isn't always objective. The umpires are often biased. The crowd will often tell you. Sometimes the umpires are correct & the crowd has missed something. Holding the ball is a really hot topic currently. The umpires are getting this half right, half wrong but this issue has been an issue all through my life. I doubt it'll be fixed this time around bcos there are biases & umpires have their favourites & ignorances. Any questions, just ask. I'll leave the simple ones for others to explain but if you want a real insight into why a rule is in-place, ask me & I'll get into real depth on the reasoning.

Greatest race ever. The supporters are totallly feral on the top of the hill, GM v Ford.back in the day. The banter between the fans was awesome. During and at the end of the race was beers and hugs between mates with different alllegiances. So good...Seems a bit sterile now that GM and ford Aus has been killed off.

You might like to comment on The Greatest Motor Race EVER as well, which of course, was at Bathurst! czcams.com/video/XMkzDMAP-80/video.html It's 25:20 long, but you might want to begin your commentary at 3:54. While the intro to that point is good, its not vital. From there the plot is set with a really great introduction of the drivers (setting up the key players which is really important to appreciate the race; then take guesses on who'll win). From the second the race starts at 7:46 there are so many twist, turns, crashes and surprises, as well as changes in lead that it puts many Hollywood thrillers to shame. Neither you nor your viewers will notice the length, you'll all be on the edge of your seats! (Although 23:20 is a reasonable place to finish as well, bringing it under 20 minutes of essential viewing.)

That echo is infact in the video as this is recorded live as you can see in the top right and the sound and camera crew hadnt fixed up the fact that Darrel had a hand mic with Marks headset mic so one or the other was picking them both up and had to be adjusted for each camera on the set which i believe was 3 cameras some times segments are last minute put togethor to fill time before the race.

In the Bathurst video when Mark says "there is nothing else like in the world" he meant it. Bathurst was designed to be the toughest circuit. What you said is true about being a passenger is way more scary. I have to admit my first thought was "that poor bastard, he's gonna crap his pants", but it was way better than that. I PMSL the entire lap. NOTE: The echo in the audio happens more often than anyone cares to admit.
