Small, Far Away - The World of Father Ted, pt 5.
On the 15th anniversary of its launch, this documentary follows Father Ted creators Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews as they return to Craggy Island on a road trip across Ireland, taking them back to some of the key filming locations from the series.
Father Ted captured a specific Irish humour rarely seen on screen and its impact doesn't seem to have faded. The show is revealed as a product of a pair of ambitious writers, a brilliant cast and the gently confident producer Geoffrey Perkins, whose suggestion of turning a one-off mock documentary into a sitcom helped make it the much-loved show it is today.
Ardal O'Hanlon, Frank Kelly, Graham Norton and many others pitch in with their reminiscences of the show, the passion it inspired and their memories of the late, great Dermot Morgan.

FECK, ARSE, DRINK, GIRLS
R.I.P Dermott Morgan and Frank Kelly may both of ye bask in God's perpetual light for eternity never forgetton loved and missed by so many
Graham is such a nice, talented bloke. It aches that he got so short sighted and messed up
Father Ted
If I'm stuck for something to watch then it's always father ted that gets put on, it never gets old, I've got a copy of the father ted and father stone picture by my front door

Offensive to irish people 🤣 i think its even funnier that americans thought they were real priests 🤣
Blue Cortina not Blue Granada but funny all the same.
Graham Lineham, absolute legend and always will be, what a truly amazing guy.
Dermot Morgan as Ted is in the top 5 comedic performances of all time imho.
"Are these your own buns" 😅 so seriously 😊
I was working in an office in San Francisco when one of my colleagues dropped a quote from Father Ted. I shouted, “Yes! That would be an ecumenical question.” He started laughing so hard.
RIP Frank Kelly
Is it mad or is it funny? Yes.
It's the equal of Fawlty Towers.
This series is proof that once every hundred years it is indeed possible to capture lightning in a bottle! ⚡❤️
"I've had my fun... And that's all that matters!" ❤️
I have never thought that the show was mocking Irish people. It is funny and the characters are endearing. It is about one imaginary place, one imaginary community. It is comedy !!!!!
Thank you for posting these!!! ❤
6:35 ✝️🤡🎶
Father jack shouting drink in heaven
Ted is just resting in his grave
Just realised Arthur is Father Ben… 😂😂
I really don't like the writers I just hate how they come across, ardal and Frank were brilliant in the doc tho
It was a shame Dermot died so young. Even if he never worked on Father Ted again. He could have gone on to become. A sort of Irish "version" of David Jason. 😔
Not a criticism here But why I wonder why didn't Graham & Arthur. Also shoot the studio scenes in Ireland?? I suppose since C4 where producing it. They wanted in one of their studios??
Jesus, hes more boring than father stone himself
Odd, that having watched Father Ted on yt since practicing day 1, this never popped up in the recommended till now, December 2023 fekkkin algorithms
Which episode is the writers favourite ???
Tank youse fer postin dis now fek off
The craic was mighty with this lot 😂
Graham Linehan has had a very interesting time online, he in many ways was a part of cancel culture because of certain people he didn't like online, only to get somewhat cancelled himself because of his opinions on Trans rights and women's rights coming into conflict, only to then come around and redeem himself with those he tried to cancel, it takes a lot to admit your faults in such a public square as the internet!
I remember a golden time in my life and fr.ted was a big part of it.
Graham and Arthur say they had no idea they were making magic…believe me they were were making beautiful comedy magic that will last for generations, they should be very proud.
Great Show. Bizarre writing and wonderfully talented cast.
Never knew Farther Ted was influenced by the Youngones Black adder and Fawlty towers
Ye tink he'd be taller Ted! 😲
No, I'm fine
I'm Irish and a Catholic. I never found the program offensive, not in the slightest.
Careful now, down with this sort of thing.
Absolutely fantastic.
Is that Ennistymon where they're talking at the end?
So annoying Graham's public persona has become so irksome. Even that can't ruin Father Ted or just enjoying him in this doc but God, a real 'never meet your heroes' type of thing.
25 years now. Unbelievable. As the fella in Chirpy Burpy Cheap Sheep said in the background “fuckin’ hell”. RIP Dermot and Frank.
A time before Graham decided to throw his family, life and reputation away. Very sad to see as he's changed nothing since.
No, Graham’s a Hero for women and girl. Grow up
Wow they finally got Father Jack into rehab....he looks well
Now pedos in wigs and kids clothing cried and pedo tv channels cancelled the creator.
You were the best Maurice
Beyond hysterical humour sadly sadly sadly sadly missed because we are not allowed this anymore by the constabulary
"I hear you're a racist now Father? What's the church's position on this?"
