This was 1966? Or there about...i remember it on tv in the winter months and after watching id be off out the house with my brother so he could chat to his little girlfriend...i never would go home when he told me to...oh well. 😂😂. Loved the program. Sure that little guy was in a movie in the 70s, 'jack the giant killer' . What a useless bit of info...that was.

Imagine time travelling into 1964

I watched this in the '60's on B&W TV. This is the only part I really remember vividly. I think the whole sequence just freaked me out, especially the creepy dwarf!

Saw this movie on tv late 60s early 70s & looked all over CZcams for it. Its coming on Spingollie this Saturday nite!! Gonna watch it on tv. It just fell into my lap. Lucky huh!!

Great ending.

I saw this on TV as a kid. I thought it was pretty cool (although cheaply made). As an adult, I now realize the story is quite good! I wish it could get re-made today with better production values (but the same kind of ending).

There was never any explanation for why this remnant of advanced human civilization declined to manufacture stronger weapons for self-defense. It is almost as if they deliberately chose weak firearms, most likely .25 ACP semi-auto pocket pistols, in order to minimize violence among themselves. It worked. The civilized people lived harmoniously. But they would pay the price. If they were serious about fending off the growing, stronger and more aggressive mutants, the civilized people should have maintained an arsenal of powerful handguns chambered for: .38 Special +P; .357 Magnum; 9mm Parabellum; .40 S & W; and .45 ACP. They should have included shotguns, semi-automatic rifles, and submachineguns. All of this was available from Old World technology that must have survived the global holocaust. Even their diligent, hard-working, reliable androids were constructed to field the strength of an ordinary human and programmed with only the most basic defensive reactions. This was no doubt a wise decision of the human designers, but the androids were thus not able to offer as much back-up fighting strength except to boost numbers. And the robots were very vulnerable to damage and destruction; not like the terminators of later sci-fi movies. In the end it was obvious their defenses were totally inadequate. Much of the omission was the lack of people with extensive military training and experience. These were all civilian scientists and technicians. They deliberately eschewed anything of a military nature, probably out of memories of the global catastrophe. Ultimately, these advanced, civilized humans were thus living on borrowed time.

An above average 1960s Sc-fi film. Some interesting, if oddball scenes and ideas. Unsatisfactory ending.
