BASN MTPro Planar Magnetic In-Ear Monitors - Your next headphones?

This the second time I've gotten to review some in-ear monitors (IEMs) by #basn. While the first pair were more budget oriented, the BASN MTPROs Hi-Fi IEMs are aimed at musicians and music lovers alike, and they're also a bit steeper in price. I spent a good deal of time using these headphones in a variety of scenarios, and I came to a solid conclusion on how the MTPro Planar Magnetic IEMs by B...

So much performance, so little cost: The Thermalright Assassin X 120 R SE CPU Cooler

Heat is the killer of PC components, and overly hot components don’t perform to the best of their abilities. When you’re a budget builder, it’s easy to forgo getting a new CPU cooler if one is included with your...

    I have this exact keyboard. The only difference is that his has round buttons while mine is not. The keyboard is not hot swappable, switches are soldered to the PCB. After a month or two, buttons start to fail. Common problems I encounter include double character when striking a button, moving the cursor with the arrow keys is oddly slow when Windows is not running like in the BIOS, button works erratically. Replacing the switches is easy if you know how to solder. The problem is, the PCB itself is really low quality. When you heat the lead on the switch then remove the lead or the solder with a desoldering tool, the gold coating around the hole breaks. They use low quality PCB board. Good quality PCB isn't like this.

      Try making sure no other storage is plugged in when I stalling windows so it o Lu sees the drive you want to install the OS on. Another thing and probably first is you need to initialize or format the drive at install. Basically the OS installer can’t see it yet. Try these. The final thing is you’ll need to get disk drivers and put them on a usb and plug they on when you go to install.

    Thanks for the detailed look into this board! As of June 15 2024 it is still 149$ on newegg. Reminder to anyone looking at this board to buy it from an authorized retailer such as newegg, and NOT amazon. Asrock will not stick to their warranty for non-authorized sellers and amazon is not authorized. People have ran into this problem before. I'm building a more basic ryzen build for my in-laws (8600g), and since 150$ is basically the cheaper end of am5 board costs, I decided to pick this up for it. Maybe now in their retirement years they'll become content creators lol! The MIL will no doubt find this board ugly, so it's a bit of petty revenge for some frequent nagging. =D

    My final thoughts, massive testing. If you want this CPU to last, Thermalright makes a great AIO that is only $60. I know it's much more expensive than the $20 cooler you get here, but it's a massive quality AIO that will chill this under max load for years to come. I highly recommend going with a better cooler for this hot running 7600x. This is also the recommendation from Gamers Nexus, and numerous Reddit users. That said, this cooler is good enough for casual gamers, however the 7600x has performance benefits that can handle the newest games without bottlenecks. Thermalright makes AIO coolers for as low as $55 for 360mm coolers. Totally worth it. AM5 is the only direction you should be going in, am4 is just a silly option at this point. Great video. Cheers.

    • @MiddleofKnowhere
      @MiddleofKnowhere Před měsícem

      Hi, You won't need to buy new fans. 3-pin fans can work in the 4-pin pwm slot, they just won't be PWM, meaning you can't really control the speeds by software. I believe they are called voltage controlled fans, which you can control in the BIOS. so PWM, 4-pin, headers have a keyed portion and 3-pin fans can slot into them. Look at this article on Arctic's site. www.arctic.de/us/faq/detail/can-a-3-pin-case-fan-be-used-on-a-4-pin-pwm-port

      First, thanks for wathing! As for your question, I really like the AsRock B650 LiveMixer motherboard. It's currently around $150. It has a fun design and a load of features. At the $189 price point There's an ASUS TUF, Gigabyte Aorus AORUS ELITE AX V2, and another ASROCK board that are probably worth looking into. It all depends on the features you need but I think the LiveMixer (also did a review on it) is worth looking into if you don't mind the loud color design.

    Thank you for the review. I just accidently broke my control button on my 2015 RGB Pro Lux and I was very disappointed to learn I couldn't swap the broken switch out without soldering. It is also very very disappointing to hear from you that the new version of our awesome keyboard has an annoying ping noise and lacks the same parts it came with before the pandemic. This sounds like another instance of a company cutting costs after 2020 by using cheaper materials and removing previously supplied items. I've tried a couple cheaper Amazon KB's but the pinging noise in those is horrendous just like you mentioned in this video. I may switch to a membrane KB if the K70 is crap now.. 💔

      I was super disappointed as well. For work, I've been using the Ducky One2 with silent switches I bought about 4 years ago. I love it and it is easily the most comfortable typing experience I've ever had. I intend to get the One 3 (this version has hot swap switches). The One 2's body is super solid, it seems like cat fur and dust have a harder time getting into the keys, and the lighting is fantastic. My only gripe is a lack of wrist rest. I highly recommend it: www.duckychannel.com.tw/en Cost wise, I think they are about as much as the corsair one. What CPU will you be using? Based on that GPU, you could probably go with a 500-650 Watt PSU. I always encourage to go for higher wattage though so that as your system grows, it's one component you don't have to upgrade. So for instance if in the future, you plan to get a 4070 or equivalent GPU and a 7800X3D then a 750 watt PSU would probably work.

If you don't need the integrated graphics go for the 5600. Otherwise, the 5600G is your best bet.

    Kind of late here, but urgent question, would a ryzen 7 7700 pair well with this motherboard? I want to upgrade from my Ryzen 5 5600x, but just want to be certain it’s comparable or if I’ll have to update bios any response is appreciated thank you!

      Not with this motherboard no. This is an AM4 socket board, you need anything with an AM5 socket so like a B650 chipset or X670.
