I am not sure the rigging is made to take the two sails side by side. Lagoon could not confirm to me that this is advisable and to what maximum wind speeds. do you have any take on this?
Thanks!
Thanks 🙏👍🙌🍻
👍
👍🍻
Igor, Thank you for another great video. Really enjoy watching your sailing travels, and the tips and wisdom you pass on. Your insight into the lagoon catamarans is excellent especially as you have so much knowledge. Thanks
Thanks 🙏
Insane!
Great video, thank you. The subtitles were a bit confusing though, using tech instead of tack, Jeep instead of jib, jive instead of gybe/jibe. Nevertheless it was extremely helpful.
Thanks 🙏
Good on you Igor, Juddy here, (;{~ I really liked your addition of wind direction, compass and speed, I really enjoy your content full stop, I hope you continue making content in the future, your a great personality mate, your accent is enjoyable and your English is very good too.. 😊👍 thanks for the entertainment and education..
Thanks 🙏
Excellent Igor! another good video.
Thanks 🙏
I’m guessing it would be demineralised as well?
One of the few channels on youtube when i am always glad to wait as long as it takes for the new post. They are just that awesome and well worth the wait. Thank you very much!
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
If you were buying a boat for yourself…… Would you have this or the leopard 50?
Probably something faster.
Back again! Many thanx for the video and safe sailing! 👍
Thanks 🙏🙌🍻
@18:57 Wouldn't you want the jib opposite the main when sailing with the wind?
He got there a few minutes later! 🤣
i tnink id rather have a RO hand pump
Thankyou for watching. Enjoy sailing. So perfectly Igor :)
Thanks 🙏
It is interesting that you never used the main sail.
I agree - I am pretty athletic and would avoid climbing up there if possible- I think that is why minimal mainsail use.
We did…
Igor - wont the mast moved forward make it bear away more in a gust and pitch that pointy hull downwards too? also shouldn't the fly bridge come forward up to the mast to close up the horrible hole under the boom to improve the sail's efficiency?
With flybridge you want classic genova ( no self tacking) and mast forward with long boom to keep centre of effort low. It’s not racing boat. It just works better like that from my experience. Hulls have plenty volume so no problem pitching. It’s vacation boat so comfort first.
beautiful trip Igor
Thanks 🙏
How does it taste?
Lovely video Igor, very enjoyable plus your insights. I’m very surprised at the shockingly bad sailplan and bad sail handling setup, not helped at all by going with a classic mainsail Mast instead of in Mast Furling, which would have removed the roof problem amongst other issues at a stroke? Best Wishes Bob in Wales who really likes the potential of Catamarans but unfortunately Catamarans really hate me due to the bucking bronco Motion you get when the two hulls connect with a wave at different times- that really does my head in, and has almost thrown me overboard. So for me, no option but to stick with Monohulls, which is ok.👍🌟🌟🌟🙂⛵️❤️
Thanks 🙏 Yes this boats should have furling main. They don’t because it looks better with fully buttoned main and good for marketing.
@@IgorStropnik I’m a convert to in Mast furling Igor primarily due to the ease of handling due to my physical disabilities which rule out the Classic mast and Stackpack mainsails. But a. Very important benefit of in mast furling with an aluminium mast is for preventing excessive damage to expensive Sailcloth taking place from UV light exposure, which doesn’t just happen in the Tropics these days, due to the damage Solar Emissions have done to the Ozone Layer. By the way, I agree 100% with B&G having the inexcusable failure to address the auto pilot taking unauthorised breaks by them dropping out with no warning. Raymarine Was suffering from exactly the same problem, but I took Raymarine Customer Support to task for it, and warned that I may not be able to have Raymarine installed on my next Sailboat if the problem wasn’t fixed . So fingers crossed, that problem is over, but a new problem is the top spec displays appear to be very sluggish and laggy, which points to very poor coding and optimisation imho. So right now, the new Garmin gear looks like being the best option ? Raymarine may be having a problem with substandard or faulty graphics chips , as Ire ember simething similar happening with top of the line Nvidia graphics chips, that were seriously flawed, Nvidia knew, but still supplied them to graphics Card manufacturers. I was a Custom Computer Builder at the time, and luckily had a policy of only building with recent generation gear, that had been in the market for at least six months, so all the bug fixes and driver updates, were available, so dodged a bullet, but huge numbers of other makers customers and games developers, were ripping their hair out trying to fix problems that they didn’t know were arising from faulty hardware. At the same time, there were serious faults with AMD processors, and Microsoft had to do an update that declocked them as running at design speed had the CPU outputting garbage - that resulted in AND complying with Microsoft Certification standards, resulting in AMD being pretty good today - perhaps as well, mainly forcing AMD notherboard chipset compliance, as prior, I just couldn’t trust them enough to even offer them to customers.🤣🤣🤣 Best wishes for Fair Winds and Safe Travels. Bob in Wales.🤔🌟🌟🌟👍❤️
@@brownnoise357 Why not just iPad waterproof dock. Easy to replace, cheaper and works well. And just monohull mast with furling. 🙌👍🍻
@@IgorStropnik In addition to my Sailboat network being hacked by the wrecking Gang working New York Harbour, the iPad and Android Tablets were hacked as well, so like the GPS Chart plotter the heading was all over the place, and when I rebooted everything all my Charts were deleted as well. So I’m working on a Network backup image for a couple of options with Raymarine. For a Basic Recovery, to get out of Dodge to somewhere safe fast, plus a full restoration umage to install when safe. New Jersey State Police were hand in glove with the Wrecking Gang, with all the equipment to do it installed in their Helicopter.,NJ Local Police were brilliant, when it all sank in with them, I was provided with an armed Policewoman Bodyguard, believe it or not. It looks like I was the first person to survive an attack by that Wrecking Gang, thanks to me having a long keel shallow draft boat, tough enough to get me through it alive, before the boat sank and was a total loss off New Jersey- brilliant beach lifeguards got me off it, and into an ambulance to the local hospital. I met a lot of wonderful people in New Jersey tbh. Best wishes. Bob. 👍🙂⛵️❤️
If you leave in water then water will cool and lower the chamber temp thus lowering rate of water being heated from liquid to gaseous phase. Once gaseous it’ll diffuse in the chamber and hit the walls and collect and increase and roll down. More heat generates more liquid to gaseous phase. So ocean water drawing heat out of container slows process down
38:00 I learnt a new trick!
😃🙌🍻
Where is this beautiful lake!
Austria 🇦🇹
Nice layout of the 51. What does annoy me is the tv sitting on the countertop. 9 to 12 inches higher would not look so crowded.
Do the suppliers provide a speed polar diagram? It might show it is faster to sail at 160 apparent wind direction and gybe (three times the spell checker changed this to gynaecology - sorry)
I haven’t seen them but they should have them.
If you had a spinnaker large enough - would you connect it to the foredeck if there is a space there or to the side of the outside hull?
Foredeck on top. That’s where I have seen many.
@@IgorStropnik From the little I have seen of this arrangement there does not seem to be much structural support for the spinnaker nor the guard rail(for that matter) but I was not sure this was the official location? thank you
That forefeck is just glued down, not fibreglassed in... a disaster waiting to happen.
@@laurence9695 Not all models.
Lagoon, oh no! Poor workmanship, not a blue water vessel. Seems decks are just glued on, not even fibreglassed. Same for bulkheads. Great for charter, as they can last 3 seasons, then start falling apart for the owners to take over. So many awful reviews. A shame for Beneteau nuilding them. 😢
Hi Igor, what do you think, is built quality getting better? I remember an earlier Video from you on a Lagoon 42 that do strange noises. I did not recognized a better built quality at furnishes. actually I was at Boat Show at La Grand Motte in April, I saw an new Lagoon but I couldn't´t get onto it. I visit also my favorite a Privilege signature 510 named ONA. But also all other Brand like Leopard Bali and Seawind and other more... But I will do a turn with you somewhere around Croatia, I will contact you. (I can cook 🙂)Kind Regards Buggy
Lagoon have an awful reputation, poor craftsmanship, not structurally sound. Inexpensive, but only good gir charter around the Bay not for blue water cruising. They are badly built, ask any surveyor.
@@laurence9695 I think construction standards have improved a lot tbh, but I would seriously advise trying catamarans before buying one tbh, because much as I’ve liked the potential with Catamarans, they positively hate me, as the Bucking Bronco type motion resulting from the hulls connecting with a wave at different times, I found impossible to cope with, and the four to five feet vertical faced waves that are common in the Irish Sea, almost had me catapulted over the side of the boat of a Prout Catamarans I was interested in buying, back in the 1980’s. Owning one seemed very attractive after reading Rosie Swales book (she lived up the road here at the time). Back then I was young and Superfit, but that Motion really did my head in. So No option but to stick with Monohulls for me. I may well be in the minority of people badly affected though. As Frik and Pietru seem to manage fine with that motion when it visibly hits on their Leopard 45 and their Sailing Sisu channel on CZcams? Fingers crossed, you’ll nor be affected. Best wishes. Bob. 🤔🌟🌟🌟👍❤️
Great inside. Great video. What qualification or course would you suggest to take for somebody who lives on a small budget and who wants to go sailing around the world on a 30 foot sailboat? Thank you.

You can also extract water from non-poisonous trees/plants by the same method. Enclose the branch with a plastic bag, tie it off and wait for the moisture release in the morning.
