That oil smudge at the end of the video. On May 5th 2024, all of the fuel was pumped out of the wreck, at last.
I can only imagine how this video would pronounce any of the following “deutschland panzerschiff Lutzow”
It’s a heavy cruiser not a battleship or capital battleship and pronounce it correctly, good lord especially if you were privileged enough to dive on it, 😂
Many people get it wrong, it’s a German name so be understanding. Also the Germans never called it a heavy cruiser the royal navy did due to its slim and smaller shape.
Its a heavy cruiser, not a battleship.
Its hurt..
First of all, it was a heavy cruiser not battleship second of all if you’re going to pronounce a German word, learn how to correctly pronounce it
Beautiful videography and music and longimanus, of which I am a tad obsessed. Unbelievably stupid several divers (thus the company which is responsible). Ex. 3:45 (action most at 4:00). Longimanus getting more agitated and aggressive. A few divers turn totally away from the shark. ESPECIALLY, the duo woh the shark charges the diver on the left. It then wheels around back to the two divers a few feet away. The diver on the right is calmly swimming away from the Long Arms. For a couple of seconds. I was amazed that there was not blood drawn. Beautiful imagery and music taking us deep into the beauty of our planet.
Technically it is a battlecruiser the middle class between heavy cruisers and pocket battleships
4:00 to 4:15 footage showing Bismarck, not the Hood. Footage taken from Prinz Eugen. As for the incorrect pronunciation of “Eugen”, I believe enough people have corrected you already. Regardless, some nice underwater footages of the wreck.
Battleships weren't necessarily obsolete there missions had changed, they weren't really obsolete at the beginning of the war atleast the battle of the atlantic bc germany was using versions of them to raid convoys. The Prinz Eugen had other missions that wasn't her only battle.
Ok i take back what i said bc i watched the rest of video. Everyone in this room became less smart from the information you just put out. In no way did you actually put any real research into this, which is ashame bc its great footage. Yes germany signed the treaty of Versailles and at first they abided by it but i dont know if you heard of the Nazi Party and the Third Reich and Hitler. Yeah they ignored thoses treaties and they created some pretty menacing battleships if used correctly. They were the Bismarck class Bismarck and Tirpitz. Before that they built the scharnhorst class with only 2 being built Scahrnhorst and Gneisenau they would've been even more devastating if they added the 38cm guns like they planned too. Oh those were 38k tons and the Bismarck class was between 52k and 50k tons full load. So i dont understand where you got Germany couldn't build big capital ships like the 2 classes i described above. IDK sorry for ripping into you video like this but since kids and teenagers get there information from videos more now than from google itself then will spew out what they think was factual when it ws not. So just research a lil bit before you post something some complete falsehoods. And your marking of what ships are in the video is wrong. Thats not the hood firing. It was never firing from the aft as if running away. If anything, it's the Bismarck bc it looks exactly like the footage they have of her returning salvos during that engagement. Im also pretty sure it was a swordfish torpedo that damaged her rudder.
Lol its not a battleship or battlecruiser its a heavycruiser. Pretty well armed heavy cruiser but non the less heavy cruiser. Especially with 8in guns. F7nny thing is he did his homework with some of the description of the ship and class but still calls it a capitalship Freudian slup i guess
3:50 "Bismarck", not "Bismark".
The radiation level wasn't even that high a week after they had done the initial bombing the easiest answer is that the u.s. Navy didn't want the ship
The Admiral hipper class aren't battleships those are heavy Cruisers
"HMS Prince of Wales ran away". This is insulting to the memory of her crew and she had little choice. All of her main armament bar one was either damaged or jammed. She was not in fully working order having been pressed into service without completing her sea trials and was outgunned by Eugen and Bismarck.
The prinz eugen is not a battleship it is a heavy cruiser
There is so much wrong here... the ship you show in the battle vs. Hood and Prince of Wales is footage from the Prinz Eugen, right... but it's the the Bismarck, not the Hood!
It was a heavy cruiser not a battleship
Bungee jump from platform --- *Completed*
its interesting that there are few fish from the footage ive seen. Normally there would be fusilier and trevally lined up on reef like that. You're probably diving the downcurrent edge, but still there should be more life than a few small sharks
you are totally right. We also had this impression of where is all the fish? We traveled from Kwajalein via Wotho Atol (totaly remote) to Bikini. No fish few sharks, middle of coral bleeching...
Oh p.s she was a hipper class heavy cruiser. Not a battleship dude 👍
God the mistakes in the video are endless. They weren’t easy to sink at all?! The Japanese Mushahsi took @19 torpedos and over 6 waves of bombers to sink. The Yamato even more at great cost on both sides. The bismark was attacked 4 times by aircraft and the only reason it was cornered was because of a torpedo jamming the rudder so she was doing 5 knots in a circle. It took 3 British battleships at point blank range 4 cruisers and multiple destroyes hours of broadsides and torpedos just to silence her guns. But wouldn’t sink. The crew of bismark then opened all the sea ports under the waterline and scuttled her so she wouldn’t be taken as a prize. Also in the battle of the Denmark straight Bismark took a hit from POW 14 inch guns to the Bow not the stern which gave out an oil slick and forced her to change course to France and allow the Eugen to break out into the Atlantic. Prinze Eugen wasn’t actually damaged by the bomb that sank her but actually capsized by the enormous wave the bomb created. Remember she was side on to the wave and anchored also. So these guys weren’t at all weak but yes we’re more easily sank by Arial attacks. However remember also in the falklands many British ships were burnt out and destroyed by 1 Argentinian middle each. In the gulf war years later the BB Missouri was hit by missles and didn’t even get thru her deck plating causing only minor damage at best. These guys were incredibly strong and very hard to sink even by wave upon wave upon wave of air attacks.
actually yes it was limited to 10.000 Tons of displacement. You said correctly that it has 16.000 tons. This is because they tricksest. And as other said it was a heavy cruiser a CA. And not a battleship, she escorted the flagship Bismarck of the Kriegsmarine
Hi darling
heavy cruiser not battleship
I mean if your going to talk about a ship at least say the proper type of ship it is🤣
My cat is named Eugen. I disagree with the fate of this ship. Not one stupid bomb should have been used let alone test firing the bombs like children with fireworks. Wasting a beautiful ship that I would dearly love to visit & walk upon. Not all Germans were Nazi's & the German Navy was a normal navy. The Prinz Eugen should have been historically SAVED. Human's have no use for Hydrogen bombs & any other stupid apocalyptic doom weapon. Asses.
fully agree - I thought the sarcasm in the voiceover is obvious ;-)
I don't want to be a Dick head but there is so many errors
Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruiser !!!!!!!!!
can this heavy crusier be salvage???
Good video just subscribed
🤩
😍
It was a heavy cruiser not battleship, and the term is battleship or capital ship not capital battleship
It's not a battleship it's a battle cruiser. it's famous for escorting a certain infamous Battleship.
Not a battlecruiser either but a heavy cruiser. Battlecruisers had main armament similar to battleships but were less well armoured. Cruisers like Prinz Eugen had lower calibre guns, generally around 8 inch (as did Eugen).
This video is FULL of erroneous information.
It was a CRUISER not a BATTLESHIP like Tirpitz or Bismark! GET IT RIGHT! My father was on this ship!
It was a Heavy Cruiser not s Battleship.
Should have been a museum ship instead of sunk.
Su mérito : servir de blanco en prueba nuclear, no hizo nada en su existencia operativa.
It was a heavy CRUISER NOT a Battleship!
Not obsolete...how else were navy's to disrupt supply chains in the Atlantic, or attack Japan which obviously is a island nation...
This was the... only battleship to survive the war...? Really?
"these are the remains of *battleship* Prinz Eugen"
Shes dead
It was not a Battleship , it was a Cruiser of the "Washington-Class' .Called so as the same as the contract between naval nations.
Voiceover: Jonathan T Coleman Do some research before you do voiceovers. I'd hate to hear you do a voiceover of the boat accident of the USS Yucktwon airship carrying boat sanked by portedos in the battle of Madwoy. Or the Lessingtown sanked in the Cowel Sea.
That’s why the Kiel canal was built to move the kaisers battleships into the atlantic
