As long as your 1.0 ecoboost is well serviced regularly. You can just get a Stage 1 remap and not change anything else. But if you want more induction, turbo and exhaust noise you’ll have to add a number of parts. For example upgrading all the induction hoses and fitting an induction kit. Also adding a performance cat back exhaust. I’ve listed everything I’ve done to my car to date. I’ve not changed mine yet but there is a setup you can do which I mentioned in the community section on my channel 👍🏻

This video was done afew years ago, I ended up just using the existing vacuum line and the Turbosmart Bov works perfectly. There’s no need to cut any hoses or to try and fit the hose in the kit.

Also I have a automatic transmission does that affect the functionality of BOV , cause I used the original vac line and I really can't hear a BOV during driving

@@amjadrahim5387 have you installed the Kompact dual port Bov or the plumb back Bov? Only the Kompact dual port Bov is vent to atmosphere for the pssst noise. With that being said, the Kompact dual port will need adjusting at the head of the unit. I turned mine to maximum Soft setting which is turning it anti clockwise until you start to see the O ring then stop there. I’m not sure about the automatic but if I rev my car up to around 3-4K revs I get the loud pssst noise.

The most important thing to get done at that mileage would be the timing belt. As you’ve already done that I think your engine should hold upto a Stage 1 remap. You don’t need to replace any parts with performance ones, you can just get the Stage 1 remap done. However if you want more induction, turbo and exhaust noise then checkout someone of my videos. There is a post on my community section of my page about a fix for the fault prone vacuum pump valve, check it out. With this engine you need to look after it with regular oil changes with the correct engine oil. Using the correct engine oil stops the premature wear of the wet belt. If you use the wrong grade of engine oil or don’t do regular oil services it’ll speed up the wear of the wet belt. It’s not the best design by Ford, getting the belt changed is a big costly job also. Costing around £1,000 to do. My cars only has Castrol 5w 20 at each oil service and I’ll probably get my belt changed when my car hits around 70,000 miles or so. My cars only done 52,000 for far. Just keep your car well serviced with the correct engine oil 👍🏻

Yeah I try to use Redex or Cataclean regularly to reduce the carbon buildup.

Nice, I looked at the 1.6 ecoboost focus’s before this car but only found high mileage ones near me. My 1.0 ecoboost is running a Pumaspeed Stage 2R around 175/180bhp and 270nm. Don’t think it’s worth pushing the engine past the current power. Would be too much for the engine to handle.

​@@EcoboostOwenYou can get the 1.0 litre ecoboost to around 205 Bhp. But you would be pushing it on stock internals. Con rod replacement for stronger high tensile strength, probably will require piston replacement for a more durable type, as they will be exposed to explosive forces at a higher magnitude. Fast road cams which could make the exhaust side stay open longer allowing waste gases to escape more freely. Inlet cams to allow profile more fuel /air into the block, which would include bigger injectors. Iridium spark plugs and racing ignition loom, higher rated starter motor. Lightened flywheel, & crank. Sports CAT tailored exhaust, uprated exhaust manifold, bigger turbo, stage 3 intercooler and hoses smooth bore air intake and a high flow air intake. Braided hose kit, air flow polished bores on the required to allow for smoother flow , less chance of Eddie's which decreases flow capabilities and efficiency. Stage 3 remap.., gearbox may require modification or replacing. Stiffer engine mounts and gearbox mounts including bushes. Adjustable suspension (Eibach). Vented and drilled front and rear discs, brembo pads and braided lines and a brake bleed. And there may be more such as uprated valve springs. This is what came to mind at the time.

Ogh and a dump valve and boost regulator upgrade. Maybe advisable to change the wet belt at rebuild, and maybe looking at a timing chain modification if it's availiable, uprated oil pump and fuel pump would be a good idea, and a boost gauge so you can control boost from a pressure regulator valve, so not to over boost and detonate your turbo, would be a good idea.

Yeah getting a 1.0 litre to 205bhp would cost quite abit of money, not really worth the financial outlay for an extra 25bhp.

@@EcoboostOwen 180 bhp is plenty... But when you look at the Pumaspeed stage 3 intercooler kit it's tempting purchase for the 200 bhp bench mark. But the extra work on engine internals would significantly put up price Vs bhp gain. I am looking at getting high end of stage 2 tune and mods to match so anything from 180 to 185 bhp I would be happy. I would like the remap to be set so that it increases across the rev range but I am more interested in 0 to 60 than top end, so I will have to discuss with the engine tuner when I do remap.

@@EcoboostOwen it wasn't bad. Got the bottle for about 28.00 the twist lock tool for 16. And the thermostat for 39. The orings to replace inside of the twist locks at the fire wall were about 5.00 for a bag of them. I am doing all the work myself so it only cost me time and the previous amounts stated. I'm in the u.s.

That noise is from the Turbosmart kompact dual port blow off valve. But the turbo and induction noise is a lot louder due to all Uprated induction hoses and an Airtec induction kit.

For the focus 1.0 ecoboost there’s not many options for a performance exhaust system. I went to TGS (Top gear exhausts) and had a custom made stainless steel performance turbo back done. Mainly because I wanted to choose the sound of the exhaust system. I think in your case you’ll have to get a custom made exhaust done and ask the company if they can cater for the centre exit without modifying the rear bumper. I’ve got a feeling if you want a centre exiting exhaust like an ST, you may need to modify the rear bumper or put an ST bumper on. But ask the exhaust company what they can do for you first.

Yeah send the link, I think I know which one you mean. It’s item number: 113812339847 where the ball head is higher up than the one I have installed. It says on the description that’s only for the Mk3 focus 1.6 ecoboost and 1.6 TDCI models. Where the one I’ve got is for all Mk3 focus’s except the 1.6 ecoboost and 1.6 TDCI models. Item number: 113258760831. Since fitting my shirt shifter I’ve had no issues at all. It’s not come loose or popped off etc.

I’m not too sure but BG state on their website: So to quash a common myth in our business, the dates on the bottom of our products are NOT an expiration date, they are the born on date. As a general rule, all BG products are the most effective within two years of when purchased.

Luckily I add a spare original vacuum pump valve which is fine and working. But I’ve posted on my channels community section where a subscriber let me know how to fix the issue permanently. Check it out 👍🏻

Im not 100% but I think the turbo is the same on the Volvo and Focus ST’s. As for remapping, both the Volvo on Focus mk2 ST have the same ecu with different software.
