- In this video I’m further adding to the stage 2 modifications on my Mk3 focus 1.0 ecoboost. I’ll be showing you how to install the Airtec induction kit which claims to add 5-10bhp over the Oem air box, it gives you a lot more induction and recirculation noise over standard setup, adds torque and it adds style to your engine.
Check out my channel for more focus 1.0 ecoboost content.

Great vid Owen, defo gonna add the Airtec induction kit to mine 👍🏼
I was on the fence about whether I should get the pipercross or Airtec induction kit. You've just helped me make my decision, Airtec all the way! Keep the vids coming, cheers pal!
Glad the video helped, yeah having had both the Pipercross and now the Airtec induction kit definitely the Airtec. Better intake sound and the car accelerates abit quicker also.
You've got a new subscriber! I got myself the 100 hp Mk3 1.0 ecoboost the other day. Your 2 part videos with the problems you had on your car really helped me. Looking forward to watch the rest of your videos mate. Cheers!
Glad my videos helped you mate, should have some new content soon, I’ve just been busy recently 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing , you make it look so easy 👍
It wasn’t too difficult, was just fitting them small nuts near the bonnet latch. Well worth doing it if your looking to get the induction kit 👍🏻
@@EcoboostOwen Thanks Owen - what kind of bhp gains can you get from this?
Airtec claim it adds anywhere between 5-10bhp with more torque over the stock air box setup. And a lot more induction and recirculation noise aswell.
Hi Owen , do you have a video or link for the extended pipes from the air filter around the engine block ? And where did you get your hard turbo charge pipe ?
Hi and welcome to the channel, if you checkout my channel videos I have videos on all the induction pipes. I’ve put details of where I bought them from in the video description 👍🏻
Hi Owen, I have just purchased a CEUK primary intake hose for my Mk3 Focus, going on what you've done to yours. Would this larger hose require new hose clips to install it, or do the old ones fit this larger diameter pipe? I will also be replaced the hard crossover pipe, and the secondary intake pipe in the future, but did you replace all your intake pipes in one go, or one part at a time?
I think the original jubilee clips will just about fit, but I bought new ones anyway from eBay. The size was 63mm I think, and no I replaced all my intake pipes one at a time, as I couldn’t afford to do them all at once, it’ll be fine.
@@EcoboostOwen I've installed a Mountune V2 air filter and that has made a noticeable difference on its own. The car is a lot more responsive to the throttle and doesn't feel asthmatic anymore. I've also ordered a CEUK primary intake pipe, and an RamAir hard crossover pipe, which will be installed in the next few days. I couldn't locate the BOV you have installed on your car, but that's not on my wishlist for the timebeing anyway.
Sounds like you’ve made a good start on your car mods. The Turbosmart Kompact dual port Bov isn’t essential it’s just better made than the stock plastic flimsy Bov. And with the Kompact dual port you get that great pssssst noise. Check out my channel videos to help you install the induction hoses and crossover pipe 👍🏻
Sounds mint that. Should you map before you buy the extra induction and pipes
It does mate, I now get loads of induction and flutter noise. Check out the short video clip on my channel of the flutter…pretty loud.
Out of curiosity, changing the air intake/ induction kit, did that give you more flutter sound? I’ve got a mk4 focus and it’s very very quiet, would like a little more turbo flutter from the engine if possible
Yes it definitely does give more Turbo noise, I added mine after I’d already upgraded all my intake hoses. So that combined with the Airtec induction kit gives a lot of induction and turbo noise.
@henryboxsell8615 no mines the Mk3 Ford focus 1.0 ecoboost. Yeah with the full induction kit and silicone hoses plenty of turbo and induction noise 👍🏻
Great video, will be fitting mine over the weekend. At 11:53.... where does that clip and wire go when the air box is out?
@robseaton5678 that clip and wire is the Maf sensor wire. The clip doesn’t go anywhere, it just hangs down when you plug the Maf sensor plug back in.
@@EcoboostOwen thanks mate 👍🏻
Will this fit a 2014 Ford Grand cmax 1.0 ecoboost ? TIA
Hi I don’t think it does, it just says the Mk3 Ford Focus. Best to have a look on eBay, Google or the Airtec website to see if they do an induction kit for your model 👍🏻
What induction kit fór Focus mk3 1.6 ecoboost?
Could check some of these out on eBay
www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=mk3+ford+focus+1.6+ecoboost+induction+kit&LH_ItemCondition=3&LH_PrefLoc=1
Where did you buy the maf sensor housing? Cant find it anywhere. Could you perhaps send me a link to where i can purchase it?
Hi Mark welcome to the channel, the Maf housing comes together with the Airtec induction kit when you buy it. Like I state in my video, the Airtec maf sensor housing only fits the facelift Mk3.5 1.0 ecoboost Focus and not the early models like mine. In my case I had to buy an oem Maf sensor housing from eBay and slightly modify it so it fit through the Airtec heat shield. I left a link in the video description where I bought my Airtec induction kit from 👍🏻
Hey owen. Thank you for the fast replay! Love your videos
The oem maf housing is what I am looking for, should have been more clear, my bad.
I dont want to ruin the one that came on the car so could you leave a link for the oem maf housing since I cant find it anywhere:)
I got a mk3 2013 😌
Thanks 👍🏻 I got my second hand oem Maf housing from eBay, just had a look there seems to be none at the moment for the early models. You could try this website I’ve used before to see if anyone has one. It’s for scrap yards all over the country.
www.partsgateway.co.uk/m/
I will try to see if I can find one! Thanks for your help
Have a great day 👏
Hi mate I just bought one of these for my focus 1.0 st line but mines a 2018 reckon it will fit?
I think your focus may be a Mk4, if so this induction kit wouldn’t fit as it’s for the Mk3 & Mk3.5. I’ve left a link to an induction kit for the Mk4
www.airtecmotorsport.com/product/airtec-motorsport-induction-kit-for-ford-focus-mk4-1-0-ecoboost/
@@EcoboostOwen thanks for the reply, I’m fairly certain mines a 3.5 but one of the last ones made before the mk4 mines the facelift version of yours
In that case yes it will definitely fit
@@EcoboostOwen awesome stuff, can’t wait to have it sorted!
@@EcoboostOwen I’ve had the kit turn up in the past few days and I fitted it yesterday, it sounds so much better and only took about 15 mins to sort!
Alright Owen I’m gonna install my airtec induction kit soon. You got anymore new vids on the way?
Yeah mate, busy with work at present but aiming to install the Airtec stage 2 intercooler, stage 2 remap, Mtec performance brakes etc soon. 👍🏻
All these mods to give you more power/noise but you still have the coolant pipe to turbo that’s prone to breaking at the grey T piece were the black plastic pipe joins , New upgrade to mk3.5 pipe work does away with this pipe .
We’ll funny you should say that, that’s a job I’ll be doing fairly soon when I have free time. I’ve got the two Mk 3.5 pipes saved on eBay. This job aswell as fitting better brake discs and pads from Mtec will be done soon. I don’t just do performance upgrades but also revised/improved parts to improve the cars drivability and longevity of the car.
Yes EBay ( rates Ford ) is where I got mine . Not a difficult job but front coolant pipe clip under turbo hard to get at ( you need angled hose clip pliers ) and I drained and replaced coolant , I know how brittle that pipe is as gave my old pipe to work mate as his was leaking near coolant tank and in the process of changing it over it just fell apart !! So he is buying the new upgraded pipes now !
You think I could put this on my american Ford Focus?
Should do I f the American Mk3 Focus 1.0 ecoboost version has the same engine layout as the European version. Is your car a pre-facelift or facelift?
@@EcoboostOwen I’m not sure, how could I check?
Reading your email yours is the face lift MK3 1.0 ecoboost. If your engine bay is the same as mine then I’m sure the Airtec induction kit will fit. Check out the video on my channel I did of installing the Airtec induction kit to a mates MK3 focus face lift 1.0 ecoboost
I'm struggling to find a aftermarket maf sensor still
What years your car? Do you mean the Maf housing, the kit comes with the Maf housing but if you have an early Mk3 focus your Maf sensor won’t fit in the housing provided in the kit. Have you looked on eBay for one?
64
@jodygrey712 if you bought the Airtec induction kit your car is like mine being before 2015. The Maf sensor won’t fit into the Maf housing provided in the Airtec kit. In that case you’ll have to buy a second hand air box, take off the Maf housing from the side of the air box, cut and customise it like I did in my video so it fits through the Airtec heat shield and onto the cone filter. I’ve left a link to a cheap air box with a Maf sensor housing on
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/325326103465?hash=item4bbef263a9:g:qXsAAOSwbEZjEIQS&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8Ax4iag5OLGqLAe9oo21EVCVMe9gEIkaQiiEy3SZ5KoVaR1dQFjtsE9z0iosBda9BveFfVZnyrE46CSmqm6M56ZBpwsUL56zFFn3l9FwfXtXIGjmqN5JcqtIJuZtS3AFwgDco5O5BprzcVDIs286X7aJ%2FMmT26ayTyPza1EX18Vvk9YdPl2mgEYl0lL7eI0XhTXJVQihJR10rXwhF%2F%2F%2BhWVJga6AakE0lzpBtNDleHyWCdK7KYhXJtq0SaAeRWO8J%2B4UuqDh%2F7Q%2FFBfhbzZV5l4Px6E6e%2FFa5kdyolfxE9DzAn%2BADqLiyQZAd4difdmTiQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR5zXq5rNYg
What about maf sensor adapter. Bro notice a sound like air con fan when I put my foot down. Sounds like I turn my fan on low any idea what causes this?
@@jodygrey712 if you have the old style Maf like mine did 2014 model you don’t need a Maf adapter. The Maf setup for the mk3 focus changed from 2015 onwards and the Maf setup in the Airtec induction kit fits the 2015 models onwards. If your Maf is like mine in the video you’ll need to buy another Oem Maf tube and cut it like I did in my video to make the kit fit. About the noise when putting your foot down, have you got a cone filter fitted or original air box? Send me a photo of your Maf at the side of your air box and a clip of the noise you talk about. ecoboostowen@yahoo.com
Am wanting to go stage 2 does anyone no the gains please
If you have the 1.0 ecoboost 125, Ive been informed with all Stage 2 supporting mods and a Stage 2 remap you’ll be looking around the 185-190bhp mark.
@@EcoboostOwen thanks pal I have mine stage one ATM u probably seen me out and about coz I live in Stockport me self getting new cluch this week and probably take it stage 2 keep up the content fella 👍
At present I only need to add the Airtec Stage 2 intercooler then Stage 2 remap to finish Stage 2, then I’ll get it dynoed to see the actual final bhp. Cheers for the support 👍🏻
Nice pal will be interested to see the gains I got a few issues with coolent pipes splitting 4 or 5 this year but I got it book in ford's Monday for new cluch and uprated coolent hose then I will go stage 2 your the only guy I found on CZcams that document the mk3 1.0.eco boost always look forward to 2 watch the video mate
Have u had and issue with coolent hose splitting
Im a dumbass and got a heatshield and maf housing for a fiesta thinking it would fit my Focus... I shall jump to Airtec and see if i can buy each seperately
Yeah there separate kits for the fiesta and focus. I found the cheapest on price was Haz motorsport on eBay. If you’ve got an early pre facelift Mk3 focus the Airtec maf housing won’t fit the sensor and you’ll have do the housing mod I did for mine 👍🏻
@@EcoboostOwen Ive got the 3.5, Facelifted. Ill have a dig about and see if i can find what i need
@@stormsekules9935 when you buy the focus Airtec induction kit all the parts will fit yours then. I did a video of it on my mates ST line Mk3.5. I’m gonna put the Airtec maf sensor housing on eBay for sale, it’s unused as it doesn’t fit my car.
@@EcoboostOwen Ive got a full induction kit, Its litually the mad housing and the heat shield aha!
