They intentionally set the meeting up like that. There are no coincidences in what the government does. I'm not educated enough to know why they do what they do to us(lots of unproven opinions out there) but they set us all up to fail on this one. They've left legal openings that allow them to take your right to speak. To freedom, and self representation really. Its them against us, and they are on the side that makes, and enforces the rules we have to follow. Or risk financial ruin, and/or imprisonment. All because we want to fish, and make our living off fishing.

I quit fishing California. The Delta is about fished out of BIG bass , Salmon and Stripers due to piss poor management ! Fishing license had gone up , catching a limit of anything is a miracle … and most limits are ONLY for 2 fish ! As Bumbling Biden would say : “ CMON MAAAN!!!” 😏

They need to allow a Real Fisherman on the board. They have done the same with salmon here in San Joaquin County. Nothing is based on science. The numbers are very wrong. I went out and caught over 100 salmon in an area they said had no more salmon. They don't know what they are talking about. We need to stand up against the LIES. They don't know much about Sturgeon. They don't know where they go during winter. They don't know where they go to spawn. They Don't Know! Yet they want to take it away. Next is Striped Bass. I guarantee you , if we don't stand up against these. Soon they will close All Fishing! We need to Fight!! SERIOUSLY! FIGHT!

Every community has two waste water systems, the one for the population’s sewage waste that goes to their sewage treatment systems and the other one for runoff from rainstorms that goes directly into the bay, lake and/or a river feeding into it. One of the ways every community that has an “Unhoused Situation” deals with the effluent they leave on the sidewalks, etc., is by having city workers out in the areas where they are using public sidewalks and parks, plazas, etc,. to relieve themselves using hoses to hose the disease laden leavings down the nearest storm drains so they can say they’re “Cleaning up the city”. It’s not just the local sedentary types of fish that live in the bays and the immediate downstream areas of their cities storm drains that are infected, but there are fish that are anadromous ones as well. That means every time they pass through these effluent infected waters going to the ocean and coming back to spawn they’re not only exposed to whatever is suspended in the water, but they eat whatever is living in that environment year ‘round that they normally would. That means the anadromous fish you catch are just as likely to be infected with whatever is being washed into the bay as if they lived there all year long. That’s because if what they eat is infected, they, being higher up on the food chain, will consume whatever their prey fish, mollusks, etc. have consumed times the number of them that are infected that they eat.

I'd like to help ..put me on your list.....did anyone file a civil suit towards the Organization on this with no facts and figures on why it been banned in Calif. Are they trying to follow suit with Oregon and maybe Washington State? Seems to me that's why they are doing this cause they are to lazy to get up and do their jobs on specs on how many sturgeons are in Calif. This is a big business for all captains and anglers of Calif. and now this B.S. ? Sorry for being so vague and pissed off with this non sense attack on us fishermen's.

I have fished and hunted the delta my entire life, almost 50 yrs now. My sturgeon spot that I fish outside of Antioch has produced sturgeon on almost every cast. Sturgeon of all sizes, but the majority are 40+ inches, and a few that spool my reel following what sounds like a sperm whale breaching the water then running so hard I don’t have time to pull the anchor before my fishing line is gone. If you think for 1 second I’m going to stop fishing because some jackass NGO or other entity thinks I need to guess again! Read my lips f..k you.

Next will be stripers

If we couldn't fish salmon in the ocean, fishing for them in the river shouldn't happen either.

The hatchery comes. From the wild so it’s wild fish that’s where misconception is .. the problem cdfw does they all the river eggs together .. they don’t know which is what .. ADFG was like what you guys doing that’s the wrong way do that

I'm not a scientist, but all these talk about the smelts, salmons and sturgeons. Have you seen the amount of stripers in the system? Bass has a limit of 5 per person in the delta and bass seems to be doing fine, but stripers are only 2. Striper spawn way better than bass and the amount of stripers, if you ever seen them in the delta is crazy. I'm just a fisherman and knows nothing about fish, but seen all the baby salmon being release and the stripers just have a buffet. Tax dollars going to waste? But what do I know, just my 2 cents. It's all about the $$$$.

Catch and release needs to be closed. Only retention should be open.

We share similar thoughts. They closed our salmon fishery and claim predation by stripers and other fish as the cause. I was publishing reports using their data from the fish and game and fish salvage reports from Tracy pumps to the aqueduct. There were over a million salmon that were caught up in the screens every year. I published three years data and then the fish salvage data was taken offline to make it difficult to get the information. I wonder why that was? My frustration level is so high I simply hate buying a fish license because they offer us such a poor fishery. I appreciate what you're doing for all of us and thanks for spending such a long day on the phone. Ken

It’s odd cuz they listen to hunting issues ohh wait we don’t hunt endangered critters I get it you definitely want to fish for them but at the end of the day the rivers are shot out you need to give them a rest and maybe put the money you will not be spending to fish in to a private organization to rebuild the rivers
