Great performance. I performed this piece once as part of a 24 hour sponsored music marathon for charity. I asked to be put on at about 3 am when I didn’t think anybody would be around to hear it. Ended up playing it just after midnight in front of about 100 people. My technique was not quite up to it so it was embarrassing. At least I can say that I have performed it.
Chico Freeman! Wow! This is so tremendous. Great music, great sax player. I've loved Chico's music since first hearing 'Merger' back in late '70s. He just gets better. Wonderful backup group here, too. Saw him in Ann Arbor decades ago. What a delight to see him here...again.
