    Frans Brüggen y Hans Martin Linde me inspirarón a tomar la flauta dulce muchísimo más en serio. Antes pensaba que hasta parecía un instrumento de juguete, que no estaba a nivel del piano, la guitarra o el violín ¡Pero qué equivocado que estaba! Todos los instrumentos tienen su complejidad, desde el que parece más sencillo hasta el más complejo

    Those were the days when they would play Jacob van Eyk (sic!) on exactly the recorder this music was not written for and that was developed decades later inaugurating perhaps the most drastic paradigm shift in all music history. Constant reeling in the chair does not help to make it any more authentic.

    • @wouterruifrok7642
      @wouterruifrok7642 Před 10 měsíci

      Eh.... Maybe the Terton is build originally about 30 to 50 years after van Eijck died. That's not so far away from his time. You can say maybe a bit more cylindrical flute could be suitable, but it is not a real mistake, because the Terton is one of those beautiful Dutch build flutes. And please... The roaring is part of Brüggen, who reached the most impressive expression on the recorder until now. Time passes, way of playing develops constantly. But you don't know a thing about recorder playing if you comment like this. Shame on you!

    • @danyelnicholas
      @danyelnicholas Před 10 měsíci

      @@wouterruifrok7642 i do know that the instrument is anachronistic and the antics explicitly frowned upon by Hotteterre and other respectable authors, quite enough to comment upon this embarrassing performance. The « impressive expression » is one of Brüggen’s whim not the music and I am not interested in this.

    • @wouterruifrok7642
      @wouterruifrok7642 Před 10 měsíci

      @@danyelnicholas Bullshit. Brüggen knows almost everything about authentic ornamentation in van Eijcks variations, he is a master of articulation and phasing. If each musician who plays music on an instrument not exactly matching the period in which music is written is not interesting, there is no ensemble or orchestra in the whole world (authentic, classic, modern) allowed to play. So please tell where this interpretation goes wrong exactly. Or admit you're wrong.

  • @joaodepaivaandrade715

    Magnífico desempenho. A melhor técnica, que valoriza a música executada e o instrumento, com tranqüilidade e articulação perfeita. A flauta que ele toca parece muito antiga, talvez seja da época barroca, pois não possui furos duplos para as notas mais graves, o que exige ainda mais do músico, que precisa ter um controle absoluto dos dedos 3 e 4 da mão direita, para executar com precisão o D# e o C#, respectivamente.

  • @rachelstarritt481
    @rachelstarritt481 Před 2 lety

    I have absolutely no words ... I am processing all this as a listener and the things he does is just spine-tingling--like I can't breathe!!! I think though there is a danger for the focus to stop even at high speeds so it all starts to become vertical with chords becoming clusters (though I do love it from time to time as it's part of the expression), but maybe it was a bit too indulgent like he was playing for himself than with an audience. Having a definite interpretation takes a lot of planning to accomplish it as you want. With a multi-layer piece I find isolating or dividing the accompaniment part into two hands really helpful so you can focus on the sound. I have never heard this pianist before and I agree with so many others he was influenced by Nyiregyázi--all his stylings and characters are there, he's sort of a marmite player though--he's more about self-expression than what the composer wanted with a 19th century approach never minding the slips that we always repeatedly step on and eliminate today because of digital recording. It's so wonderful that this sort of performance fashion is coming back, but sometimes you need to prepare for loads of criticism as well because not everyone is used to hearing a certain approach.

    • @rachelstarritt481
      @rachelstarritt481 Před 2 lety

      I think it takes a lot of energy to take interpretive risks, it's about advanced planning and staying in control of the technique to release the music, it's definitely like in a sport where the same type of energy has to be achieved to score or maintain pace for the finish line.
