if you ever find it, I strongly, strongly recommend sending it to DAG cameras and have it serviced. the last batch of minox tech are fading away and once they are gone, its either going through the lengthy process of learning how to do it yourself, which is not, impossible but going to be a pain in the butt, or just sitting there and watching it rot.

there is a eh forum I think, called minox forum? not extremely active or technical unfortunately. I got rid of the extra ones and kept the IIIs model shown in the vid. Had the honor to get it serviced by the legendary Don from DAG cameras. I believe he is still doing them and is also currently training an apprentice. If you have one that you would like to get straightened out, I strongly recommend trying DAG cameras. The man remained one of the last original minox techs who still work on them now. for the general public at least. The camera deserves the legendary touch imo

also there might be discord groups about it. but you are right. old cameras shall live on. some times when people cared about what they do.

looking back at this a year later, i didn't pick any of the nails myself but yt managed to grep a nice scenic/funny/tenseful moments for pretty much all 13 of them.

yes. technically any lens have depth of field. it is just the range of things that will remain in focus. Iirc all minox subminiatures have a f5.6 lens, it's not exactly a fast lens but also not ideal if you want large depth of field. Under certain lighting conditions you might be able to get a decent field. But I would not expect any stellar results. its a 8x11 tiny negative. No matter how meticulous you are in the developing, you inevitably lose a lot of information in the process, which there is not much to begin with,

@@mugglepower Kodak Instamatic or Brownie cameras, then move up to 35mm and still love it-including dark room stuff. But I use iPhone because of convenience. But curiosity had me with technology before I was born. Thanks for answering this question

@@williamborodati4564 nothing beats modern solid state devices in terms of performance and convenience. If you would like to grab one of these minox we can talk,. I have three and I am thinking about getting rid of one or two of them. If you wan something as cheap as possible to get into the hobby I can give you a EC for 50 bucks and a cartridge

@@mugglepower​​⁠​⁠ Sorry, you‘re information is not correct. The Minox A, B and C have an 1:3.5 f=15mm lens, not 1:5.6. Only the Minox EC has a 1:5.6 f=15mm lens. 1:5.6 as it is a fixed focus lens from 1m to infinity, unlike the lenses of the Minox A, B and C which can be focused from 20cm to infinity, in the range from 20cm to 1 m with a rather small depth of field of only a few cm, and the snapshot setting (red dot) at 4 m with a depth of field of 2 m to infinity. For example, for portraits you can set the focus at 2m, resulting in a depth of field of 1.40m to 4m.

the MX is awesome. I sold mine and ended up settling with a nikon FM2 tho. a bit larger and more grip. thinking about trading that for a F3hp or something but not sure if I want something THAT big.

Regarding bricking the flipper, I had this conversation with the devs and the answer I got is yes it is possible, but only if you perform very specific actions, which requires extensive hardware and knowledge about the stuff. It's a while ago but basically you so fundamentally fuck the MCU up that its base fw is done. That requires overwriting a bunch of permissions. If you did brick yours, I heard of ppl discussing JTAG/SWD for re-flashing but I don't remember more info. Join the discord there are lots of smart ppl here. Any cfw has an expansion package that contains most scripts/apps. as for the adapter, there are plenty on the market. I ended up not using it because the added sioze.

any tips for loading cassettes from bulk film? I have a bulk roll of pre cut 8x11 film and not sure how much length should be 36 exposures or how I would be able to get it right under total darknes...
