ATG made two power drives for the Pentax MX. And many reviewers & photographers are confused nor know the difference.
Motor drive = shoot up to 3.0fps. Motor Drive can shoot beyond 3.5fps. Today, it's called Vertical Battery Grip to hold batteries.
MugAMuggle, do you have the MX with the motordrive?

thanks! dont have the mx anymore. still got a FM2N and a pancake f1.8 50mm lens. the cost of shooting and developing film is catching up to me so I got one of those adapters and have the lens on my dads A7ii. the optics is so much better than the stock 28-70mm lens.

This was one of the best & assisted by ATG. The other ATG and the last of Pentax mechanical was the LX.

I was on the fence between this and the LX. Finally went with the MX because I’m only getting started and don’t wanna splurge too much. The price of film these days Jesus.

@@mugglepower You have made the right choice going with the MX.
Kinda like buying a used ATG's father camera OM-1 (M-1 is hard to find) over the OM-3.
      For pure electronic, I liked ATG's Contax 645 & Rolleiflex 3003.
For best metering, I liked ATG & his father camera OM-4.
For science/medical/eyeglasses with X finder: Canon New F-1, Rolleiflex 2000/3000/3003, Pentax LX, Nikon F5
FYI: Fuji is not making film for 120 & 135 at the moment. So the price of used film cameras will drop down more.
And DSLR system have been discontinued & soon to be sold used at nice prices.
ATG & I recommend using Hasselblad V lenses on your MX (with adapter with any SLR/DSLR) for flash sync 500!

And thanks for the information, it is fascinating. I was reading about the history of Pentax/asahi company and apparently it was founded by Zeus’s icon combining the two trade names contact and pentaprism. But I don’t remember seeing anything regarding ATG cameras. Seems like they are in the security camera business now?

@@mugglepower You would have to search the history Olympus. ATG's father, "Behind the genius of Olympic cameras is a genius. But ATG never has his name /or known outside of photography camera/lens companies, except autographed/engraved with his father on the Olympus M-1 (very rare: 25 engraved & I have 2).
The Olympus MDN was closed. Then years later ATG's Rolleiflex SL2000F/3000 series.
The last that outputted by Olympus was Olympus OM-4 Ti (OM-4AM-very rare) autographed/engraved by them.
ATG works are just like Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni.
Many of Michelangelo's masterpieces were not signed by him. But the world's know of his works.

the MX is awesome. I sold mine and ended up settling with a nikon FM2 tho. a bit larger and more grip. thinking about trading that for a F3hp or something but not sure if I want something THAT big.
