Beautiful underrated masterpiece 🥲🤗
Where can I find the piano sheet music?
Don't know if sheet music is available for this particular instrumental adaptation. But the actual song, "The Bilbao Song" from the musical HAPPY ENDINGS by Berltolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, has openly available sheet music for voice and piano.
@@swr2777 Hi. I am a music publisher and I'm working on a piano sheet music book featuring some of the best music pieces from Woody Allen's movies. Bilbao Song will be one of them - love this rendition by Bernie Leighton. Cheers !
I love this movie. Judd Hirsch was awesome. Then scene where Hirsch says. " because I'm your friend", truly beautiful. I use to host a radio show in university called. " Philosophers and Thinkers", we discussed this movie many times.
Book from?? ❤❤❤
One of the most powerful movies ever made; I use vignettes from it to teach about forgiveness. Faithfully yours, The Rev. Derrill B Manley, Ph.D
We could runaway to Mexico
Delerue ALWAYS created beautiful music. His music for "julia" was my introduction to his music. Just wonderful ❤
Ho visto questo film quando è uscito in Italia. L ' ho subito considerato un capolavoro , uno dei film della mia vita . Ma anche la critica lo ha subito considerato tale, un capolavoro, quindi non underrated
Haunted me since I first saw the movie in my 20s in 83 or so then on the docks in leharve when id failed to getinto England and then later when i did stay in England and Princess Diana made it fsmous again
Loving this song in 2024.
Thank you. Really this is sophisticated film
Movie is depressing throughout and no break in between scenes
"Another Woman" is a spectacular film. And this beautiful haunting soulful music is perfect for Marion's theme.
Pachelbel's Cannon is lovely as it is. Sorry but Hamlisch rendition murders it.
Bittersweet perfection!!
Just watched it. There is so much sensibility in the way this movie was made. You can feel the pain and how every character deals with grief in their own way. The ending is heart-warming - acceptance and showing your vulnerability is the key message here. Beautiful movie.
We released the Movie in the Philippines we put bath tub at the lobby with someone on the tub
❤😢
"In my life" solo anyone?
Bellissima e toccante melodia❤❤❤ 3:45
Brilliant movie. They don't make serious adult themed movies like this anymore
The song is so incredibly beautiful that it touches the deepest part of my soul.
That Mary Tyler Moore didn't win the Oscar for her incredible performance in this film is a crime. She captured perfectly the complex and multidimensional reactions of a person devastated and heartbroken by the death of a loved one. It is truly one of the great performances in film.
Saw this film so long ago but it has a lasting impression on me powerful emotions
This is one of my favorite pieces of music. . .
This film was the first time I had ever heard the Canon. Beautiful!
I believe this is actually No. 3 not 1
Claude Debussy orchestrated this.
I knew she was an ice queen when she threw away french toast.
And it looked so delicious.
This music takes me to a place where the physical can't go only feelings and emotion are allowed.
LOVE'S HIDING PLACE Performed by DIONNE WARWICK From AVCO EMBASSY PICTURES' THE SEDUCTION
This movie is so many things..what a family goes through when a child dies... all of the characters were great in this movie and the music was beautiful...one of my favorite movies .
Absolutely beautiful song. Love Kurt Weill.
What a beautiful song, what a beautiful version, what a beautiful movie.
When I hear this song, I think of the past memories of my long ago traveling days. But it’s not over yet.
Judith guess in kitabını okumuştum, genelde kitabı iyi olursa...film kötü olur...ama bu film çok güzel..
Great movie
Such a tremendoously brilliant film and so realistic!!! I just cannot properly put into words how incredibly well done it is.
I just got this on blu-ray. Such an amazing film. Riveting. I appreciate how almost everyone can relate to it differently. A lot of people see it as almost cripplingly depressing, but I felt like it's more about acceptance, and overcoming and breaking free, of and from ourselves and others. The ending was beautiful, and sad, but also exhilarating and hopeful.
How does the Blu-Ray look and sound?
Yes! Beautiful and liberating and so very human.
Thanks much for finding and providing this song. One of the important pieces from the movie I frequently revisit. I also just noted CZcams considers the movie itself a "comedy", that couldn't be more inaccurate. It's a drama that basically lacks any comedic element.
Yes, I’ve seen that description on Amazon as well. Not exactly a “laff riot” like “Love and Death.” I often hesitate to recommend it even to serious people because it is so emotionally charged and hits sensitive subjects like abortion, adultery, divorce, withholding parents, etc which most people cannot discuss without screaming these days. Could Allen have foreseen a time when an abortion could not have been mentioned in connection with regrets? It is a deeply unsettling film, certainly for this baby boomer.
Gena Rowlands is absolutely perfect in this movie, I want to see her earlier work especially the films she made with John Cassavetes. Gene Hackman was so tender and insightful, I wanted to be him and express myself in such a profoundly moving way to a woman like Gena Rowlands' Marion.
She’s a marvel
This movie stays with u forever, bc even when u have it all, life can b shattered. All we have is God, Jehovah, in the end.
Oh shut up.
Just watched again. The acting is incredible.
Best music I hear
Heartbreaking film. Also, one of hope. Fine performances all the way around. I was so glad that Timothy Burton's character, Conrad, had Dr. Berger, who was there for him, when he had a breakthrough. His friend's death triggered all the emotions that he had been suppressing. When Conrad says, "I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't been there for me. Thank you." When Berger let's him know that " I'm your friend." And he gives him a shoulder to cry on and a hug that he badly needed. But more importantly, he listened and he gave him acceptance. And he helped him to forgive himself for surviving, when his brother, Bucky, let go of the boat and died. As for Mary Tyler Moore. She gave a performance that deserved nomination. Her Denial was complete. Her not being able to be around him or talk to him, with her Mother, she indicated she was thinking of sending him away to boarding school.( To get him completely away.) She manipulated her husband into excluding him from going to Texas, where he could have seen her brother, his uncle, and their family. She blamed Conrad for his brother, Bucky, dying. If you had a child, who died and the other child survived, wouldn't you think that you would have Thanked what ever powers that be for having your surviving son. You would want to hold onto him and if anything be overprotective so that nothing else could harm him. She acted like he part of the furniture in the house. Actually, I think she cared more for "appearances." Her husband after seeing Dr. Berger, himself, started to see through her act. He finally wised up. The ultimate betrayal. Was when he asked her, " Do you love Me? Do you you?" Her pathetic answer was, " I feel the way I've always felt about you." She couldn't say "I love you." I wonder if she ever lived him or if he was just someone who could "provide" a way if life, and all the material things that went with an upper middle class comfort, with her able to manipulate him, without anything being asked of her. Her husband was right when he summed it up. " It would have been alright, if there hadn't been any Mess. But you can't handle Mess. It has to be easy." So once he said, " I don't think that I love you anymore. And I don't know what we have been playing at." She left. Because she could "fool" him or manipulate him anymore. She took the easy way out. Probably went to Texas and found a richer, more gullible fool, that she could manipulate and lead around. Sad. That It would take the death of the son, to finally rip away the facade of money can buy happiness. Unfortunately, it cannot. It doesn't buy immunity from death, or sickness, or getting old, or make you a better person, or make kinder or buy you integrity or character. All of which, Donald Sutherland's and Timothy Hutton' s character, they, both, had. She was "lacking" in substance. I did feel sorry that she was the one losing. They would, ultimately, be better off. She had walked away from the most valuable things that mattered. Father and Son would heal, and grow, and change. I'm afraid, the Mother would not. Just my opinion. It was a beautiful, complex film.
Very well reviewed. Excellent film!
Same here
Spot On!
