Why take so much stress to trick them? Such a waste of your precious time and money, energy and resources to spend on an unworthy person. Instead shun them forever and lead your own life with better people around. Difficult to do at first ,but not impossible. If it is your family member , then maintain a safe distance , communicate clearly, remember each and every details of your communications with them( so that they cannot point fingers) and protect your boundaries.( Avoid getting in conflicts with them replace their conflicts triggers with avoidance.( Remove yourself from that situations). If you can't , handle the situation with confidence and confront them removing yourself from that place. Fight back smartly, dont surrender to their game) Practice detachment. Love them from distance. ( No physical contact but sending them good Energy and remembering the good times spent and pray for them) Dont expect anything out of them.Be independent in emotion and lead a your own life with other positive people or your own hobbies or learn a new skill.but dont waste your precious time on them. You can still love them in your thoughts without physical contact and communications. Your healthy habits for your self will change your life and this change will benefit you to be better version of yourself. I dont think lying them back or stalking them etc is a good idea. every time you resorts to methods narcissists use you betray yourself and your moral compass. and eventually, you'll only exhaust yourself or trap yourself in a unending circle of war - its not the best purpose to live your life. i prefer leaving them behind, making them confront their end eventually, without me.
