Also before anyone @s me for still having a gas boiler in my house... yeah. I'd love to have a heat pump but unfortunately we simply couldn't afford it when the old boiler packed up. Right after we'd spent all our money buying the house and getting married. It's on our list when we have money.

Is coal mining good, actually? Yes! After you've stopped taking the coal out of the ground at least. Old coal mines could be a key part of the race to net zero in countries with a heritage of coal, being used to provide low carbon energy - geothermal district heating. This video is about how to reduce emissions from heating, using the UK net zero target as a specific example. Geothermal energy, and in particular geothermal heating, can provide low carbon energy to district heating networks. If you like videos from Soup Emporium you will love this video!

15:54 if you believe anything you just said, you are not even slightly qualified to be talking about this. And I’m not talking about flavor, or anything as subjective as esoteric as personal taste. You fundamentally do not understand food. Of all the reasons we use meat, protein doesn’t even make the top 10. Culinarily speaking the main uses of meat are fat, collagen, and flavor. In order to get the nutritional value of a kg of beef you would need to eat half a kilo of dried lentils, 6.6 kg of olives, and 600g of dried seaweed (I cannot stress enough just how much seaweed it takes to make up 600g). And at the end of that you have one well fed person and not much else. On the other hand that cow provides countless materials that can’t come from anywhere else. Essential chemicals that are need in making everything from dynamite, to lubricated condoms. Nobody gives a soggy taco bell shart about protein.

Have you known about Space Based Solar Power/SBSP done by Communist China, USA, UK etc. ? They want to create new electricity and heat power from space then beam those back to earth in quantity enough to generate electricity. This create much higher temperature around the area beamed and could effect rain cloud to the point of drought and storm unintentionally. More than ten high companies around for test run already. So……………Space Future Frontier of War is highly possible, to me. Global Warming become true story highly as a result of this SBSP.

This is an interesting view that I don’t entirely agree with. These organizations aren’t meant to solve the problem. They are meant to help, which they are. The fact is nobody is working to solve the problem in its entirety, so these organizations said why not help the best we can? It’s like me picking up trash at the park and you making a video about how I didn’t solve the global pollution problem. They aren’t claiming or attempting to be a universal solution. And until there is a better more streamlined entity that can address the problem more effectively, there’s nothing wrong with supporting organizations who are at least trying and at least getting some results.

I have quite a few issues to address with this video: 1. You fail to address the fact that some people aren't unwilling to accept climate change, but are sickened by those that preach it. Many that speak of it demand extreme action at severe expense of others, yet all the while do things that are clearly hypocritical of such statements (buying beach houses when they said we'd flood, flying HIGHLY POLLUTANT private jets for mundane tasks). Simply put, they act like con artists, which as can be imagined, puts many people off. 2. You fail to address the fact that quite a few climatologists, aka people who have studied this as you say, have indeed disputed the current model. Do you know what they are met with? They are demonized. I thought the point of science and theorizing is to dispute to find the answer, not for being right? Instead they're just told to shut the hell up and stop debating. 3. You speak of government regulation of such things to prevent climate change. I will not be one to say that regulation has no part in any aspect. If there was no regulation, we would've died already to all the toxins in our food (we're just dying slowly instead). HOWEVER, understand that the regulations they wish to bring about are either foolhardy at best, or cripplingly controlling at worst. They demand the removal of all fuel powered engines by 2030? Bye bye poor people. Let's also not forget the "clean" construction of those electric batteries. If you truly wish the government to regulate this, maybe also have them get of their money grubbing asses and make changes towards other aspects of society so such a radical change wouldn't collapse us entirely within a week. 4. Most damningly, all things considered, if we're all going to die from climate change, why aren't we, including those that are warning of it, putting absolutely everything aside? Why are we still squabbling about abortion, student debt, equity, taxes, or employment, when the very existence of life itself hangs in the balance? It seems the "doomerism" has spread to more than just the deniers. I want the best for this world. If you truly do as well, I'm sure you will at least understand my grievances, even if you do not agree with them. I do hope some of these can at least be addressed.

What has to happen to make solar power work as a base load? Or wind? so far where I live solar and wind have increased the cost of power when I’m home to use it. In order for them to work we’d basically have to change working hours drastically so we were sleeping during low power times and awake during high power. As someone involved with repair of underground facilities the water savings would be huge. The amount my town spends pumping water into random holes in the ground that we haven’t found yet is just mind blowing.

The 'if' we can make lithium ion batteries circular is a very big if. In the meantime, the damage done to local environments and local communities and health in places where cobalt, for example, is mined is horrific and, though Simon mentions it, is not factored into over-simplified lifetime carbon emissions models. Yes, we have to protect future people from our impacts; we can't do that at the expense of invisible people alive today.

I've always thought that waste heat extraction was the secret most effective use of and producer of energy. Either pumping heat to replace other heating methods for houses, water and industry or using heat pumps and direct conversion to create power from it. My family has run a crematory for years and if it were a more easily accessible option we would definitely make use of it for power and heat. Also as an aside I could see in the future aquamation, the cremation process using alkali chemicals to render something to base biological components as a good source of energy. The metallic drums of such devices and the heat given off by the process are yet another industrial source of heat.
