Acrostic palindrome mnemonic

The flat earth has f..k all to do with learning chords,anyway you don’t now wether it is flat or not so just concentrate on what you do best.

But when you have put in hours and hours a day of practice over months and you just can't improve and even transition chords, then when do you give up. Before you smash the guitar to pieces.

With regard to which pentatonic scale to use with any major progression, you could always just use the major pentatonic scale of the song's key. Using shape1 like Ricky did, put your pinky on the root and play it. Works every time. Remember, each minor pentatonic shape is also a major pentatonic shape if you choose your root note 3 half-steps above where the minor root would be. Same shape, same position, same result. It's just easier to think of the major root since it is the same as the key of the song. Just my 2 cents. Love ya, Ricky!

I found that understanding the 'Whole Step/Half Step' patterns of the different types of chords very informative as a great start off to music theory . . . but I did teach myself music theory, after already being able to play guitar and piano by ear.

Interesting video, and affirms how ignorant I am about the technical aspects of playing guitar. I just play by ear, and I am blessed that the Lord keeps me playing in spite of my ignorance of what I am doing.

Octaves and harmonics make up chords. :O)

So why wouldn’t you just tune the open strings to E A D G C F? Saves having to work out these ‘complicatins’ There must be some advantage to doing it this way?

Trying to understand practical application here, specifically in the context of lead guitar here, say I'm playing over a backing track in the key of A and the progression moves from I to IV, if I play A Ionian then D Lydian, I'm using the same 7 notes, so is there any extra work I need to do (highlight the colour notes, maybe start on the D root?) or will the context of the backing track alone give those notes a Lydian sound/feeling?

as i had not known the existence of the circle of fifth a year ago, i created my own for fifth fret (from right to left/ from E to e string): After Each C Goes D. and e string is same after as E.

Two minutes in and lightbulbs are going off. Not to mention that as you write I’m saying Cash, Every, Good in my head as I just finished the Circle of Thirds video. Thanks! The way you drew the chords, how they stack and the inversions really helped me visualize it.

Wow. I’ve been trying to understand more theory on guitar, working on memorizing triads, trying to use the circle of fifths, watched a video about how the circle of fourths was better, but this ring (circle, get it?) rules them all. Dead useful. And the mnemonic makes it easy to do in your head. Magic!

Question,, you said use the Scout finger. So how about if you make a minor barre chord,, do you put on the scout finger set up everything then take off the scout finger
