Thank you for giving us this great lesson Ricky.
I've been wondering about this for a long time!
Thing just blew right through my head. Will have to research more.
Great video lesson as always Rick, there is no link in the email to download pdf. Thank you!
I've fixed the link Ed. Have another go at downloading the PDF :)
@@rickysguitar Perfect Ricky, thank you so much!
Eyup Rickster ... loved the video, but the Emailed link for the PDF doesn't work??
I’ll have a nosey and see what’s going on
I've fixed the link Phil. Have another go at downloading the PDF :)
@@rickysguitarAll good now Rickster ... cheers!!
only the notes on the 2nd fret of the e strings and the 4th fret of the d string are visible the others look whited out ?
Eyup Norman. I've had a watch on a smaller screen and yes it's a problem. I've replaced the free PDF with a clearer tidier drawing. that makes it easier to follow along. Hope that helps :)
Forgive me. But, your drawings are each identical to me. How are you counting spaces with all the different numbers? Am I crazy ?
The scale patterns are not from 1 key. The E shaped octave is the modal centre. Download the PDF and you'll see the difference.

Ricky,
I'm assuming this is covered in your book?
No this is new material. It will be in a future book though however

Thanks
Ricky……….what the heck are you talking about?
Each box of the 5 minor pentatonic boxes can be thought of as a mode. If the 5 boxes are in one key then the tonic moves around all 5 of the shapes. However if the modal centre is always on the E string each box pattern becomes a mode in its own right because a new scale formula is created
